"Traveler's Malaria is a new emerging health problem in the whole world due to (I) increasing inability of international travelers and (2) recurrence of diseases in areas that was once, partially or fully freed from the disease.We report 2 cases of severe traveler's malaria found in a man from Greece and a man from the Philippines aged 54 tears. Both patients were ship captains. They have stayed in Kenya prior to the catching the disease. In the first case, we found acute kidney failure with anuria and lung edema, pneumonia, and a progressive decline in hemoglobin concentration. In the second cases we found reduced consciousness, disorder of liver function with jaundice, disorder of kidney function, bleeding from the upper digestive tract, pneumonia, severe anemia, and signs of DIC (Disseminated Intra-va.icttlar Coagulation). The second patient was admitted to the ICU( Intensive Care Unit). Peripheral blood smears found ring forms and growing Plasmodiumfalc.iparum trophozoits. Both cases were assumed to be resistant to Chloroquine and Fansidar. Both of them were treated with oral Quinine Sulphate {we could hardly find Quinine injection in Medan), With such treatment for seven days, we found significant clinical and laboratory improvements. Asexual parasites were no longer found in the peripheral blood smear. During the hospitalization, both patients required Packed Red Cell (blood) transfusion to overcome the progressive drop in hemoglobin level. With the disappearance of the parasites from the patients' blood, the disorders of the organs mentioned above, gradually became normal. The conditions of the patients also showed satisfactory improvement."

"ABSTRAKPerjalanan merupakan cara untuk mengamati dan memahami keragaman budaya serta agama. Tesis ini membahas benturan nilai dan identitas kosmopolitan oleh muslimah penulis dalam Berjalan di Atas Cahaya dan The Jilbab Traveler dengan tujuan memaparkan cara para tokoh muslimah traveler menyikapi benturan nilai budaya dan agama dalam perjalanan serta menjelaskan proses konstruksi pandangan kosmopolitanisme Islam. Penelitian kualitatif ini menggunakan perspektif gender, yang dihubungkan dengan teori catatan perjalanan Carl Thompson dan zona-zona kosmopolitan Terhi Rantanen. Konstruksi muslimah kosmopolitan dalam ranah publik dan global dibangun melalui perkembangan pola pikir dan sikap tokoh, sudut pandang, nada dalam catatan perjalanan.

ABSTRACTTraveling is a way to observe and understand the diversity of culture and religion. This research is about the conflict of values and cosmopolitan identity by muslim women authors in Berjalan di Atas Cahaya and The Jilbab Traveler with the aim of describing how muslim women travelers figure out and address the conflict of culture and religion values, and explaining the construction of Islamic cosmopolitanism by prominent muslim women travelers. This qualitative research uses gender perspective that related to Carl Thompson rsquo s travel writing theory and Terhi Rantenan rsquo s zones of cosmopolitanism. The construction of cosmopolitan muslim women in in both the public sphere and global world is built through characters, points of view, and the tones of the writings examined."

"Jalan Tol Kayu Agung–Palembang–Betung atau Jalan Tol Kapalbetung adalah megaproyek infrastruktur jalan tol sepanjang 111,6 kilometer dari Kayu Agung hingga Betung. Jalan tol ini merupakan bagian dari Jalan Tol Trans Sumatra dan pembangunannya diperkirakan menelan biaya sekitar Rp 7-8 triliun. Pembangunannya dilaksanakan PT Waskita Sriwijaya Tol selaku Badan Usaha Jalan Tol (BUJT), hingga Juni 2020 sudah sepanjang 42 kilometer dikerjakan, dari Kayu Agung sampai Palembang dengan waktu pelaksanaan dimulai dari 1 Juni 2016.Jembatan Ogan merupakan merupakan satu dari tiga jembatan bentang panjang yang ada di Ruas Tol Kayu Agung – Palembang. Jembatan ini memiliki total panjang 1,6 kilometer dengan lebar bentang utama 385 meter, clearance horizontal 185 meter dan clearance vertikal 16,5 meter. Nilai investasi jembatan adalah Rp1,2 triliun.Jembatan Ogan merupakan jembatan segmental box girder yang didirikan di atas sungai Ogan yang sampai saat ini masih aktif dan masih dilewati oleh kapal dan ponton di Sumatera Selatan. Dengan minimum tinggi bersih jembatan setinggi 75 meter, dan supaya tidak mengganggu lalu lintas di Sungai Ogan, sehingga metode balanced cantilever dengan form traveler system merupakan metode yang tepat.

Kayu Agung - Palembang - Betung Toll Road or Kapalbetung Toll Road is a mega project. 111,6 kilometers of toll road infrastructure is builded from Kayu Agung to Betung. This toll road is part of the Trans Sumatra Toll Road and its construction is estimated to cost around Rp. 7-8 trillion. The construction was carried out by PT Waskita Sriwijaya Toll as the Toll Road Business Entity (BUJT), up to June 2020, 42 kilometers have been worked on, from Kayu Agung to Palembang with the implementation time starting from June 1, 2016.Ogan Bridge is one of three long span bridges in the Kayu Agung - Palembang Toll Road Section. This bridge has a total length of 1.6 kilometers with a main span width of 385 meters, horizontal clearance of 185 meters and vertical clearance of 16.5 meters. The investment value of the bridge is IDR 1.2 trillion.Ogan Bridge is a segmental box girder bridge which was erected on the Ogan River which is still active and still being passed by ships and pontoons in South Sumatra. With a minimum bridge height of 75 meters high, and so as not to disturb traffic on the Ogan River, so the balanced cantilever method with the form traveler system is the right method."

"Salah satu alasan kuat bagi wisatawan dalam melakukan aktivitas travelling adalah untuk mendapatkan pengalaman baru, baik dari segi budaya, sosial, dan lingkungan. Aktivitas travelling ini kemudian berkaitan erat dengan space atau ruang yang berperan sebagai tempat terciptanya pengalaman bagi para wisatawan. Interaksi yang terjadi antara manusia dengan elemen-elemen physical dan social di sebuah setting kemudian dapat menghasilkan sesuatu yang disebut dengan sense of place. Sense of place merupakan sebuah bentuk lain dari pengalaman yang dialami oleh wisatawan saat berada di sebuah tempat wisata. Sebuah tempat wisata yang mengadaptasi konsep community-based tourism dapat dikatakan memiliki sense of place yang baik karena dapat memberikan pengalaman nyata dan berkesan bagi wisatawan yang datang berkunjung. Skripsi ini bertujuan untuk mencari tahu elemen-elemen apa saja yang terdapat pada tempat wisata berbasis komunitas yang pada akhirnya dapat menciptakan sense of place bagi wisatawan dan kemudian memberikan pengalaman yang nyata dan berkesan bagi mereka di tempat wisata tersebut.

One of the main reason for people to go for traveling is to experience the cultural, social, and environmental differences. Traveling is then closely related to the 'space' as a place for the creation of traveler's experience. The interaction between human and the elements physical and social which can be found in the setting produces something called a sense of place. Sense of place is another form of experience that traveler get at the tourism spot. A tourism spot that adapt the concept of community based tourism is said to have a good sense of place because it can provide a real and memorable experience for traveler who come to visit. The aim of this thesis is to find out which elements can be found in community based tourism that ultimately can create a sense of place for traveler and then provide a real and memorable experience for them."
