"Bullying merupakan perilaku tidak menyenangkan yang dilakukan seseorang ataupun sekelompok orang secara sengaja, sistematis, berulang, dan terus menerus untuk menyakiti seseorang atau sekelompok orang (Rigby, 2008). Penelitian sebelumnya yang dilakukan di Barat menunjukkan bahwa sikap remaja yang setuju terhadap perilaku bullying menjadi prediktor penyebab terjadinya perilaku bullying. Sikap seseorang dipengaruhi oleh lingkungan dimana ia tinggal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat gambaran sikap remaja terhadap perilaku bullying saat SMA di kota maju. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini adalah 500 remaja yang berasal dari kota maju. Teknik pengambilan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan kuesioner Bullying Survey yang dikembangkan dari alat ukur sikap terhadap bullying oleh Swearer dan Cary (2003). Hasil analisis pada penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa sebanyak 86% partisipan memiliki sikap yang tidak setuju terhadap perilaku bullying di sekolah, dimana ketidaksetujuan tersebut cenderung pada sikap netral. Sementara itu, sebanyak 65,3 % remaja di kota maju mengaku pernah terlibat dalam perilaku bullying di sekolah, baik sebagai pelaku, korban, maupun saksi. Sebagian besar partisipan adalah saksi, karena peneliti tidak secara khusus memetakan peran dalam bullying sehingga hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan sikap yang tidak setuju terhadap perilaku bullying.

Bullying is a systematic abuse of power did by person or group of people to hurts someone or group of people deliberately, repetitively, and continually (Rigby, 2008). Earlier research showed that youth attitudes that agreed toward bullying behavior to be a predictor of bullying behavior. An attitude is influenced by the environment where someone lives. The present study investigated to assess 500 adolescent (aged 18-21) attitudes toward bullying behavior of urban high school. In this study used Bullying Survey questionnaire were adapted from Swearer and Cary (2003). Results from the study indicate that 86% of adolescent attitudes in the urban high school did not agreed toward bullying behavior at school, but inclined to neutral attitude. In contrast 65,3 % adolescent in the urban high school have an experienced of bullying. Most of the participants were bystander, because researcher did not divide specifically about role in bullying, so this research indicated that they were disagree with bullying."
