"The quality of people’s relationships with and interactions with other people are major influences on their feelings of well-being and their evaluations of life satisfaction. The goal of this volume is to offer scholarly summaries of theory and research on topics at the frontier of the study of these social psychological influences—both interpersonal and intrapersonal—on subjective well-being and life satisfaction. The chapters cover a variety of types of relationships (e.g., romantic relationships, friendships, online relationships) as well as a variety of types of interactions with others (e.g., forgiveness, gratitude, helping behavior, self-presentation). Also included are chapters on broader social issues such as materialism, sexual identity and orientation, aging, spirituality, and meaning in life. Subjective Well-Being and Life Satisfaction provides a rich and focused resource for graduate students, upper-level undergraduate students, and researchers in positive psychology and social psychology, as well as social neuroscientists, mental health researchers, clinical and counselling psychologists, and anyone interested in the science of well-being."

Subjective well-being (SWB) is life satisfaction evaluated by cognitive, positive and negative feelings. Emerging adults (EA) with intact and non-intact families have differences in family support. In several studies, SWB is strongly related to EA family support, but has not focused on the conditions of intact and non-intact EA families. This study examines the relationship between family support in intact and non-intact EA families on their SWB, and then compares it. The number of respondents was 86 men and 114 women aged 18-25 years. The results of the pearson correlation analysis and independent sample t-test showed that the correlation results were significant at р=0.000 <0.005 r=0.786 for life satisfaction, r=0.843 for positive affect, and r=-0.688 for negative affect. The comparison results prove that EAs with intact families are higher in cognitive SWB and positive affect, while EAs with incomplete families are higher in negative affect SWB. So it is important for EAs from both intact and non-intact families to get adequate family support."

The topic of teacher well-being is commonly discussed over time. Up to this day, teacher is still mainly named as one of the most stressful job, not to mention elementary school teachers whose demands are more challenging than other secondary teachers. This topic is appealing since teacher’s stress influences some aspects, not only student’s learning process, but also teacher’s journey on personal growth. Therefore, it is important for teacher to maintain a good level of teacher subjective well-being. One of the factors expected to be affecting teacher subjective well-being is self-compassion. This study aimed to explore the correlation between self-compassion and teacher subjective well-being among elementary school teachers using Teacher Subjective Well-Being Questionnaire (TSWQ; Renshaw et al., 2015) and Self-Compassion Scale (SCS-LF; Neff, 2003a). Through the participation of 224 elementary school teachers, a positive, significant correlation is found between self-compassion and teacher subjective well-being (r = 0,389, p < 0,01). In this case, the positive components of self-compassion can help elementary school teachers grasp the meaning of their own role, thus increasing their teacher subjective well-being."

One of the important areas of positive psychology to research in emerging adult period is subjective well-being. The various challenges and problems they go through can be a risk factor for their well-being. Among the various aspects that can be related to subjective well-being, solitude is assumed to act as a protective factor for well-being. Solitude is an objective condition of solitude that is generally used constructively. Therefore, this study aims to examine the relationship between solitude and subjective well-being in emerging adulthood. There were 317 participants between the ages of 18-25 (M = 21.51, SD = 1.78) who participated in this study. The results of the study using the Perth A-Loneness Scale (Houghton et al., 2014) and The PERMA-Profiler (Elfida et al., 2021) measurement tools showed that solitude was significantly positively related to subjective well-being. This finding can be interpreted that the higher the tendency of young adults to practice solitude, the higher the level of subjective well-being."
