"Tesis ini membahas tentang identitas Asmat dan bagaimana Museum Asmat sebagai museum etnografi yang menerapkan new museology menarasikan identitas dalam tata pamernya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan desain deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan masyarakat Asmat sebagai masyarakat kreatif yang memiliki identitas budaya mengukir. Kini seni Asmat sudah bertransformasi ukiran yang dahulu dibuat sebagai bentuk penghormatan terhadap leluhur, kini diproduksi semata-mata untuk mendapatkaan uang. Motivasi ini menimbulkan adanya keseragaman produk yang dihasilkan yang sebelumnya menjadi kekhasan diwilayah tertentu. Hal ini harus menjadi perhatian agar seni ukir yang memiliki kekahasan tidak berubah menjadi penyeragaman.

This thesis is describing on Asmat identity and how Asmat Museum as a museum of ethnography apply the new museology, identity Asmat culture in exhibition. Using a descriptive qualitative methods the research results has reinforce the Asmat as a creative people with carving as a cultural identity. Asmat art has been transformed, before the carving was made to respect their ancestors but now produced for making money. This money motivation raises uniformity of the product that previously produced based on the character of a particular region. This should be a concern that there is uniformity of the sculpture."

"Tesis ini membahas tentang konsep tata pamer sebagai bagian dari fungsi museum. Aspek penting dalam tata pamer museum adalah komunikasi yaitu sumber pesan, penyampaian dan penerima pesan. Studi kasus yang digunakan adalah Museum Pusaka TMII. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian yang bersifat deskriftif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Dengan gambaran kondisi pameran museum sebagai salah satu bagian dari komunikasi museum dalam menyampaikan pesan. Selanjutnya analisis penyajian koleksi saat ini dipandang dari sudut pandang new museology. Analisis kondisi pameran tersebut menghasilkan ide-ide baru penyajian koleksi yang mengacu pada alur pameran. Alur cerita pameran merupakan salah satu bagian penting dalam proses tata pamer untuk memahami pesan museum secara keseluruhan. Konsep tata pamer yang di kaitkan dengan program edukasi museum dapat membantu efektifitas dalam penyampaian pesan museum.

The focus of the thesis is about governance concept showroom as a part of the museum?s function. The important aspects of museum communication is the source message, delivery and receiver. Pusaka Museum is the case study for this research. This research is a descriptive study with qualitative approach. Begins with an overview of the condition of the museum exhibition as one component of museum communication in a channel message. Later analysis of the current collection presentation in light viewpoint new museology. Analysis conditions resulted new ideas in the preparation of the exhibition refers to a collection of exhibits story line. Story line is one important part of the communication process to understand the message museum as a whole. Exhibition through one museum education program associated with the theory of education can assist in the effective delivery of the museum message."

"Tesis ini membahas tentang konsep new museum, identitas, memori kolektif, teori edukasi, dan model ekshibisi di museum. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Museum Negeri Provinsi Sulawesi Utara, Manado. Mengacu kepada konsep dan teori tersebut, maka untuk meningkatkan peran Museum Negeri Provinsi Sulawesi Utara dalam memberikan pemahaman dan edukasi tentang perwujudan nilai-nilai warisan budaya, maka museum ini harus mempresentasikan perwujudan nilainilai warisan budaya Sulawesi Utara pada ekshibisi. Adapun teori edukasi yang tepat adalah konstruktivis, dengan pendekatan ekshibisi tematis. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan desain deskiptif. Data dikumpulkan dengan melakukan studi literatur dan observasi di lapangan. Hasil penelitian berupa penerapan konsep new museum di museum Negeri Provinsi Sulawesi Utara.

This research discusses about the concept of new museum, identity, memory collective, educational theory, and model exhibition at the museum. This research was conducted At The State Museum of North Sulawesi Province, Manado. Refers to concepts and theories, then to enhance the role of the State Museum of North Sulawesi Province in giving understanding and education regarding the embodiment of the values of cultural heritage, the museum must present the embodiment of the values of the cultural heritage of North Sulawesi at the exhibition. As for the right educational theory is constructivist, the exhibition's thematic approach. This research was qualitative research with design deskiptif. Data are collected by conducting studies of the literature and observations in the field. The results of this research is the application of the concept of the new museum at At The State Museum of North Sulawesi Province."

"Tesis ini membahas tentang pembentukan identitas orang Hakka Indonesia yang kemudian di representasikan ke dalam tema-tema tata pamer Museum Hakka Indonesia-TMII di Jakarta. Museum adalah sebuah wadah atau lembaga non formal yang bisa dijadikan sebagai sumber atau rujukan untuk mempelajari kekayaan aneka ragam kebudayaan suku dan ras yang kita miliki. Museum Hakka Indonesia-TMII sebagai museum yang mengusung nama sebuah sub dialek Hakka idealnya adalah museum yang merepresentasikan identitas komunitas Hakka Indonesia ke dalam setiap bagian dari museum mulai dari gedung beserta isi museum yaitu koleksi, dimana identitas tersebut terbentuk berdasarkan sejarah panjang orang Hakka di masa lalu hingga sekarang. Dengan pemilihan tema, koleksi, alur cerita (storyline) dan program publik yang mencerminkan identitas orang Hakka, tesis ini bermaksud menjadikan museum Hakka Indonesia mempunyai ciri atau karakteristik sebagai museum komunitas Hakka.
