"[ABSTRAKPada masa sekarang ini profesi pustakawan masih belum sepenuhnya mendapat tempat di hati masyarakat kita. Banyak yang beranggapan bahwa profesi pustakawan adalah profesi yang tidak perlu memiliki pendidikan khusus, dan dapat dilakukan oleh siapa saja. Namun tidak demikian dengan pustakawan yang bernama Flynn Carsen. Adanya keahlian-keahlian khusus yang dimiliki olehnya, menjadikan Flynn sebagai pustakawan yang dihargai keberadaannya. Melalui pendekatan kuantitatif, maka hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa persepsi positif yang dimiliki oleh penonton terhadap profesi pustakawan dalam film The Librarian: Quest for The Spear disebabkan karena keahlian-keahlian yang dimiliki oleh si pustakawan baiksecara profesional maupun personalnya. Adanya penilaian positif ini timbul dikarenakan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi seperti pengalaman individual yang dimiliki oleh penonton, target dari persepsi yang dalam hal ini adalah profesi pustakawan itu sendiri, serta situasi ketika persepsi itu timbul.

ABSTRACTAt this time the librarian profession still has not fully captured the hearts of oursociety. Many people believe that the librarian profession is a profession that does notneed to have special education, and can be done by anyone. However, that perception is not fit with the librarian who called Flynn Carsen. The existence of specialized skills possessed by him, making Flynn's existence is appreciated as a librarian. Through a quantitative approach, the results of this study indicate that the positive perception held by the audience against the librarian profession in the movie The Librarian: Quest for the Spear due to the skills possessed by the librarian both professional and personal. The existence of this positive assessment arise due to factors affecting such individual experience possessed by the audience, the target of perception which in this case is the librarian profession itself, as well as the perception of the situation when it arises., At this time the librarian profession still has not fully captured the hearts of oursociety. Penelitian ini menggunakan metodesemiotik dengan menggunakan analisis yang dikemukakan oleh Roland Barthesyaitu analisis hubungan sintagmatik dan paradigmatik yang bertujuan untukmendeskripsikan representasi perpustakaan dan pustakawan dengan memahamigambaran perpustakaan dan pustakawan yang ditampilkan dalam film. Hasilpenelitian ini menyatakan bahwa dalam analisis sintagmatik menunjukkanrepresentasi perpustakaan tercermin dari perpustakaan Metropolitan PublicLibrary dengan representasi pustakawan tercermin dari tokoh Flynn. Analisisparadigmatik menunjukkan representasi perpustakaan dan pustakawan dilihat darideskripsi para tokoh dan juga latar tempat. Sebagai kesimpulan, film inimerepresentasikan perpustakaan sebagai tempat yang menyimpan koleksi bukudan benda berharga serta pustakawan memiliki wawasan luas serta memilikikemampuan meneliti yang baik.

"Penelitian ini mengenai representasi pustakawan dalam film the librarian: return to king solomon’s mines. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hasil interpretasi peneliti terhadap representasi tokoh pustakawan dalam film The Librarian: Return to the King Solomon’s Mines. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif dengan metode semiotik. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pustakawan dalam film ini memperlihatkan aspek profesional, aspek kepribadian dan prilaku, peran dan cara pandang masyarakat terhadap pustakawan. Film ini merepresentasikan tokoh pustakawan yang tidak biasa, yaitu menunjukkan cara pandang penonton terhadap pustakawan lebih semakin dihargai lagi pekerjaan dari seorang pustakawan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode semiotik dengan analisis hubungan sintagmatik dan paradigmatik yang dikemukakan oleh Roland Barthers. Hasil dari analisis sintagmatik menunjukan bahwa representasi pustakawan terlihat pada perjuangan tokoh Mary untuk menjadi pustakawan. ABSTRACTThis undergraduated thesis analyzes the representation of librarian in the movie titled Party Girl. This research uses semiotic method with analysis of syntagmatic and paradigmatic relation which expressed by Roland Barthes. The results of syntagmatic analyses shows the representation of librarian that shown in the struggle of Mary rsquo s character to become a librarian. In paradigmatic analysis, librarian represented by the description of characters and backgrounds. The results of this research shows that librarian in this movie conducting their work based on librarian rsquo s code of ethics. "ABSTRAKPenelitian ini membahas tentang representasi profesi pustakawan dalam novel The Case of The Missing Books. Tujuan Penelitian ini adalah untuk memberikan gambaran tentang tanggung jawab dan dedikasi seorang pustakawan terhadap profesinya di sebuah kota di Irlandia Utara. Metode penelitian kualitatif dengan teknik analisis isi digunakan dalam penelitian ini untuk mendapatkan gambaran profesi pustakawan yang diwujudkan dalam dedikasi dan tanggung jawab terhadap profesi dengan menganalisis unsur naratif berupa unit konteks, sebagai unit analisis penelitian, kemudian diidentifikasi berdasarkan teori. Hasil temuan dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dedikasi dan tanggung jawab terhadap profesi memberikan pengakuan dan kepercayaan dari masyarakat sebagai profesi yang luhur.

ABSTRACT

This undergraduate thesis explains about the representation of librarian profession in The Case of The Missing Books novel. Purpose of this study is to provide an overview of the responsibility and dedication to profession as a librarian in a city in Northern Ireland. Qualitative based research with content analysis is used in this study to get an overview of librarian profession, which is manifested in the dedication and responsibility to the profession by analyzing the narrative elements in context unit form. The result of this study shows that the dedication and responsibility to the profession providing recognition and trust from the society as a noble profession."

"Skripsi ini membahas mengenai persepsi pustakawan di Perpustakaan Universitas Indonesia terhadap Kode Etik Pustakawan Indonesia terkait dengan pemahaman dan implementasi kode etik pustakawan pada perilaku pustakawan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode fenomenologi. Hasil dari penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa sebagian besar perilaku pustakawan di Perpustakaan Universitas Indonesia sudah mencerminkan implementasi dari kode etik pustakawan walaupun para pustakawan kurang memahami isi kode etik pustakawan secara tekstual.

This thesis discusses the perceptions of librarians at the Library of the University of Indonesia towards Indonesian Librarian Code of Ethic related to the understanding and implementation of code of ethic on librarian behavior. This study uses a qualitative approach to the phenomenolgy method. The results of this study conclude that most of the librarians' behavior at the Library of the University of Indonesia have already reflected the implementation of code of ethic even though the librarians do not understand enough the content of code of ethic textually."

"Skripsi ini membahas mengenai persepsi pustakawan di Perpustakaan Kementerian Sosial Republik Indonesia terkait dengan pemahaman dan implementasi terhadap kegiatan pengatalogan yang dilakukan di Perpustakaan Kementerian Sosial Republik Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode fenomenologi. Hasil dari penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa secara keseluruhan pustakawan di Perpustakaan Kementerian Sosial Republik Indonesia memahami akan pentingnya kegiatan pengatalogan di Perpustakaan Kementerian Sosial Republik Indonesia, namun pada praktiknya mereka kurang memahami bagaimana melakukan proses pengatalogan sesuai dengan standar yang ada, sehingga kegiatan pengatalogan yang dilakukannya tidak berjalan secara maksimal.

The focus of this research is to discuss about The Perception of the Librarian in the Indonesian Ministry of social regarding to comprehension and implementation towards cataloging activities that is done in the Library of Indonesian Ministry of Social. This research uses qualitative approach and Phenomenology Method.

The result of this research is to conclude that overall of the librarian in the Social Ministry of the Republic of Indonesia understand the importance of cataloging in the Library of Social Social Ministry of the Republic of Indonesia, however,practically they do not really understand how to process standard cataloging system, as a result, the cataloging does not work well."

"Sweet Teeth merupakan film serial Cina yang diadaptasi dari novel A Speck Amid the Dust of the World karya Mu Fu Sheng. Film ini menceritakan seorang gadis yang bekerja sebagai pustakawan di sebuah universitas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana pustakawan digambarkan, bagaimana pandangan masyarakat terhadap pustakawan dan stereotip pustakawan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode analisis wacana kritis yang dikembangkan oleh Jager dan Maier. Sweet Teeth terdiri dari 22 episode dan penelitian ini mengkaji 9 episode sebagai unit analisis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan masih terdapat stereotip negatif terhadap pustakawan. Namun film ini juga menunjukkan pertentangan terhadap stereotip tersebut. Pustakawan tidak lagi digambarkan sebagai sosok yang wanita tua berambut putih dengan kacamata, namun tampil dengan penampilan yang lebih modern dan santai. Selain itu pustakawan yang ditampilkan terlihat muda. Sweet Teeth menunjukkan bahwa pandangan masyarakat terperangkap dalam stereotip kepustakawanan sehingga menciptakan persepsi negatif terhadap pustakawan yang pada kenyataannya berbeda dengan bagaimana sosok pustakawan sebenarnya ditampilkan dalam film.

Sweet Teeth is a Chinese film series adapted from A Speck Amid the Dust of the World novel by Mu Fu Sheng. This film tells the story of a girl who works as a librarian at a university. This study aims to describe how librarians are portrayed, how people view librarians, and what librarian stereotypes are in this film. This study uses a qualitative approach with the critical discourse analysis method developed by Jager and Maier. Sweet Teeth consists of 22 episodes and this study examines 9 episodes as the unit of analysis. The results show that despite still having negative stereotypes about librarians, this film also shows the opposite of these stereotypes about librarians. The librarian was no longer depicted as a grey-haired old woman, but appeared young, with a more modern and casual appearance. Sweet Teeth shows that people still view librarians based on negative stereotypes, thus creating negative perceptions of librarians that are different from how the librarian actually is presented in the film."

"Penelitian ini membahas mengenai pustakawan perempuan non-stereotip dalam film Library Wars. Dalam penelitian ini peneliti akan mengkaji scene-scene dalam film Library Wars yang di dalamnya menampilkan pustakawan perempuan non-stereotip dan interaksinya dengan lingkungan pekerjaanya sehari-hari. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif berdasarkan kerangka analisis representasi visual terhadap aktor sosial dimana kerangka tersebut memperlihatkan distance (jarak), relation (relasi), dan interaction (interaksi) antara aktor sosial yang direpresentasikan dengan penonton. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pustakawan perempuan memang digambarkan sebagai sosok yang non-stereotip yang dekat dengan latihan militer. Pustakawan perempuan digambarkan sebagai library guard digambarkan sebagai pribadi yang cerdas, teguh mempertahankan apa yang ia anggap benar, dan berani mengambil sikap atas apa yang ia percaya. Meskipun begitu, di satu sisi pustakawan perempuan masih digambarkan sebagai sosok yang lemah dan pustakawan perempuan terkadang digambarkan sebagai pribadi yang sembrono dan sombong

This research discusses the non-stereotypical female librarian in the Library Wars film. In this research, the researcher will examine the scenes in the Library Wars film, which features non-stereotypical female librarians and their interactions with their daily work environment. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method based on a visual representation analysis framework of social actors where the framework shows distance, relation, and interaction between social actors represented by the audience. The results of this study indicate that female librarians are indeed portrayed as non-stereotypical figures who are close to military training. The female librarian is described as a library guard who is described as a smart person, who is determined to defend what she thinks is right, and has the courage to take a stand on what she believes. Even so, on the one hand, female librarians are still portrayed as weak figures and female librarians are sometimes portrayed as frivolous and arrogant."

"Skripsi ini mengangkat permasalahan kewajiban profesional pustakawan terhadap profesinya dalam wujud kegiatan penelitian dan reformasi. Tujuannya adalah mendeskripsikan bagaimana pustakawan yang bekerja di Perpustakaan Universitas Indonesia melakukan kewajiban profesionalnya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Ditemukan bahwa para pustakawan cenderung melakukan penelitian mereka secara berkelompok. Dalam melakukan penelitian tersebut mereka tidak didorong oleh motivasi individual dalam rangka melakukan reformasi pada ilmu perpustakaan tetapi lebih untuk memenuhi kegiatan penelitian yang sudah direncanakan oleh institusi perpustakaan. Reformasi menurut mereka, diwujudkan dalam bentuk menyediakan bahan untuk para profesor. Mereka juga memperbaiki sistem temu kembali informasi dengan menerapkan RDA dan melakukan roadshow literacy informasi, namun didalam mewujudkan kewajiban profesionalnya, mereka menghadapi kendala kurangnya akomodasi dari pimpinan terhadap pemikiran mereka sehingga menimbulkan kebuntuan komunikasi antar pimpinan dan pustakawan.

This thesis raises the problem to the professional librarians to his profession in the form of research and reform activities. The purpose is to describe how librarians working in libraries of Universitas Indonesia perform their professional duties. This research uses qualitative approach with case study method. Found by librarians tend to conduct their research in groups. In doing that research they can not be driven by individual motivation in order to reform the library science more to meet the research activities that have been planned by the library institution. Reform according to them, manifested in the form of providing material for the professors. They also improved information retrieval systems by implementing the RDA and conducting information literacy roadshows, but in realizing their professional obligations they faced obstacles from leadership to their thinking resulting in communication deadlock between leaders and librarians."
