"In the current global entertainment environment, cultural representations are significant. This study examines how the American television series XO, Kitty, which is based in Seoul, South Korea, portrays South Korean culture. The representation of the series becomes apparent as a complex fabric of tradition and modernity, exhibiting both genuine depictions and cultural intricacy when one closely examines its plot and characters. Through an examination of how XO, Kitty addresses South Korean stereotypes in popular culture, the study reveals complex perspectives on the way the series portrays South Korean culture and whether or not it is affirming or contesting stereotypes. The study examines the portrayal of several aspects of South Korean society, such as its educational system, gender roles, traditional attire, festivals, and popular cultural components like K-pop, K-food, and K-beauty, in the series as an instrument of interaction. The study aims to analyze the proportion between genuine cultural portrayal and the persistence of stereotypes in the narrative and character development of the show. The study showed that this narrow and shallow portrayal poses the danger of propagating biases and does not fully convey South Korean culture's intricate and diverse nature.
