Peta merupakan organisasi terbesar yang melindungi hak-hak binatang di seluruh dunia. Peta membidik segala usia, mulai dari remaja hingga dewasa. Dalam berkampanye, peta turut serta mengajak tokoh-tokoh terkenal sebagai model dalam iklan-iklannya. Hal tersebut bertujuan untuk dapat lebih menarik perhatian pembaca. Dalam iklan-iklannya, PETA tidak hanya menggunakan kata-kata denotasi, tetapi juga tidak jarang menggunakan kata-kata konotasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penggunaan kata-kata denotasi, konotasi dan asosiasi yang terdapat dalam iklan layanan masyarakat yang dikeluarkan oleh PETA. Metode kualitatif yang bersumber pada kajian pustaka digunakan untuk menganalisis sepuluh iklan PETA yang menjadi korpus data. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, selalu terdapat makna denotasi, konotasi dan asosiasi di dalam masing-masing iklan. kata-kata denotasi diterjemahkan sesuai dengan kata sebenarnya yang terdapat di dalam kamus. Kata-kata konotasi dan asosiasi diterjemahkan sesuai dengan pengalaman kebahasaan masyarakat pemakainya.ABSTRACT PETA is the largest animal rights organization in the world. "Dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, ketika merasa kesal, sedih, marah, dan jengkel, kata makian kerap kali digunakan untuk meluapkan perasaan-perasaan tersebut. Dalam perkembangannya, penggunaan kata makian juga digunakan untuk mengungkapkan rasa senang, rasa terkejut gembira, mendekatkan hubungan, menunjukkan keintiman hubungan sehingga penggunaan kata makian tidak selalu memiliki makna negatif. Penelitian ini menganalisis emosi dan makna yang diungkapkan oleh kata makian berbahasa Mandarin yang tidak bermakna menghina dalam film Dear Ex 誰先愛上他的 Shéi Xiān Ài Shàng Tā De “Siapa Yang Terlebih Dahulu Mencintainya?” dan mengkategorikannya berlandaskan teori emosi milik Paolo Santangelo (2003). Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan metode simak dan analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa kata makian bermakna tidak menghina dapat mengungkapkan rasa senang, puas, kaget, malu, dan kesal. Selain itu, kata makian tidak bermakna menghina dapat memiliki makna ungkapan rasa sakit fisik. Namun, kata makian dalam penelitian ini hanya menunjukkan empat jenis emosi dari lima jenis emosi yang mana tidak ditemukan kata makian yang dapat diklasifikasikan ke dalam emosi rasa positif beserta harapannya. Keempat jenis emosi yang ditunjukkan oleh kata makian dalam penelitian ini adalah: (1) rasa puas; (2) emosi penonjolan nilai negatif; (3) emosi perlawanan agresif , dan (4) rasa tidak puas.

In everyday life, when people feel upset, sad, angry, and irritated, swear words are often used to express these feelings. However, in its development, swear words are also used to express pleasure, surprise, to make a relationship closer, and to show the intimacy of a relationship. Hence, the function of swear words does not always contain negative meanings. This paper analyzes the emotions of non-derogatory Chinese swear words in the film Dear Ex 誰先愛上他的 Shéi Xiān Ài Shàng Tā De “Siapa Yang Terlebih Dahulu Mencintainya?” and categorizes them based on Paolo Santangelo's theory of emotion (2003). The method used is a qualitative method with the listening method and descriptive analysis. The results of the research show that non-derogatory swear words could express pleasure, satisfaction, surprise, shame, and irritation. In addition, nonderogatory swear words also can be used for expressing physical pain. However, swear words in this study only showed four classes of emotions out of five classes of emotions where no swear words were found that could be classified into positive expectation and interaction. The four classes of emotions shown by swear words in this study are:1) satisfactory affects; (2) negative projection; (3) aggressive-opposing emotions, and (4) unsatisfactory affects."

"Makalah ini membahas mengenai makna denotasi dan konotasi yang muncul dalam parfum yang dibuat oleh seorang pria yang berasal dari Belarus yang berkolaborasi dengan majalah Leaders, yaitu Vladislav Rekunov. Parfum tersebut adalah parfum " Leaders Number One Inspired by Vladimir Putin" yang merupakan parfum yang terinspirasi oleh sosok presiden Rusia yaitu Vladimir Putin yang telah mengabdi lebih dari 15 tahun dan memiliki kepribadian yang tegas, tangguh, berani dan elegan. Tujuan penulisan ini adalah untuk menjabarkan makna-makna yang terlihat didalam bentuk parfum "Leaders Number One Inspired by Vladimir Putin" menggunakan teori semiotika denotasi dan konotasi milik Roland Barthes. Adanya unsur-unsur denotasi dan konotasi didalam parfum akan digunakan untuk membuktikan bahwa melalui teori denotasi dan konotasi milik Roland Barthes terdapat kesesuaian antara pesan yang disampaikan pembuat parfum kepada pembeli.

This paper discusses the meaning of denotations and connotations that appear in perfumes made by a man from Belarus who collaborated with Leaders magazine, namely Vladislav Rekunov. The perfume is "Leaders Number One Inspired by Vladimir Putin" which is a perfume inspired by the Russian president, Vladimir Putin who has served more than 15 years and has a firm, tough, brave and elegant personality. The purpose of this paper is to describe the meanings seen in the form of perfume "Leaders Number One Inspired by Vladimir Putin" using the theory of semiotic denotations and connotations of Roland Barthes. The existence of denotation elements and connotations in perfume will be used to prove that through the theory of denotation and connotation of Roland Barthes there is a match between the message conveyed by perfume makers to perfume buyer."

"Skripsi ini membahas komponen makna kata negara dan negeri dalam bahasa Indonesia. Kamus Besar Bahasa Indonesia (KBBI) edisi 2008 digunakan sebagai korpus utama. Selain itu, peneliti menggunakan novel Negeri di Ujung Tanduk karya Tere Liye sebagai korpus tambahan. Peneliti bertujuan untuk menentukan komponen makna yang dimiliki kata negara dan negeri dan menguraikan relasi makna antara kata negara dan negeri. Teori yang digunakan untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut antara lain teori analisis komponen makna, teori dekomposisi leksikal, teori relasi makna, dan teori ranah makna. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa negara memiliki tujuh belas komponen makna dan negeri delapan komponen makna. Relasi makna kata negara dan negeri merupakan sinonimi dekat.

This thesis discusses the component of meaning from the words negara dan negeri in Indonesian language. The 2008 edition of Kamus Besar Bahasa Indonesia (KBBI) was used as main corpus. Besides, a novel called Negeri di Ujung Tanduk by Tere Liye used as additional corpus on this thesis. The purposes of this thesis are to determine the component of meaning that belongs to negara and negeri and to describe the meaning of relation between negara and negeri. The theories that was used o achieved that purpose are the theory of analyzed component of meaning, the theory of the decomposition of lexical, the theory of meaning relation, and the theory of domain of meaning. The result shows that negara has seventeen of the component of meaning, and negeri has eight of it. The meaning of relation from negara and negeri is a near synonymy."

"Penelitian ini membahas pengaruh pergeseran makna dalam lagu kebangsaan “Indonesia Raya” yang diterjemahkan ke bahasa Jerman pada pesan dalam lagu sumber dengan menggunakan dua jenis metode, yaitu metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif untuk menjelaskan pergeseran makna dan metode penelitian kuantitatif dengan survei menggunakan GoogleForm yang berisi penggalan lirik dalam bahasa Jerman dan jawaban iya/tidak untuk melihat kenaturalan terjemahan. Analisis ini menggunakan teori pergeseran makna Leuven-Zwart (1989) dan teori Skopos Vermeer (1978), serta strategi penerjemahan lagu Low (2003), dikenal dengan pentathlon principle, sebagai pendukung teori Skopos. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa 83% lirik mengalami pergeseran. Meskipun begitu, pergeseran tersebut tidak mengubah pesan, hanya mengubah kesan dari lagu sumber. Lalu, hanya ditemukan enam kata dan frasa yang tidak natural bagi penutur jati sehingga tidak memberikan pengaruh besar terhadap pergeseran makna. Setelah dianalisis lebih lanjut, ditemukan juga tujuan lain dari penerjemahan ini, yaitu agar dapat dinyanyikan kembali.

This study discusses the effect of shifts in translation of the national anthem "Indonesia Raya" translated into German to the message in the source song by using two types of methods, there are descriptive qualitative method to explain shifts in translation and quantitative method with survey using GoogleForm, which contains German lyrics and yes/no answers to see the naturalness of the translation. The analysis use the theory of shifts in translation by Leuven-Zwart (1989) and Skopos theory by Vermeer (1978), as well as Low's (2003) song translation strategy known as the pentathlon principle to support Skopos theory. The results show 83% lyrics are shifting. However, the shifts do not change the message, only change the impression of the source song. Then, there are only six words and phrases are not natural for native speakers so that they do not have big effect on the shifts. Furthermore, it is also found another purpose of this translation was to be sing it again."

"Wakamono kotoba atau bahasa anak muda merupakan bahasa yang digunakan oleh kaum muda. Salah satu karakteristik yang membedakan wakamono kotoba dengan bahasa Jepang standar adalah adanya perubahan makna. Perubahan ini dapat dilihat melalui salah satu wakamono kotoba, yaitu kata toutoi. Kata toutoi awalnya bermakna ‘suci’, ‘mulia’. Akan tetapi, makna kata toutoi mengalami perubahan seiring berjalannya waktu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan pergeseran makna kata toutoi dalam wakamono kotoba. Data penelitian bersumber dari media sosial X. Kuisioner terhadap penutur jati bahasa Jepang juga dibuat untuk membantu analisis makna dari kata toutoi. Hasilnya ditemukan bahwa makna kata toutoi bermacam-macam tergantung konteks yang mengikutinya. Kata toutoi dapat bermakna ‘suka’, ‘terbaik’, ‘luar biasa’, ‘lucu’, ‘terharu’, ‘hebat’, ‘sempurna’, serta ‘senang’. Selain itu, ditemukan variasi kata toutoi yang telah mengalami perubahan secara morfologis dan fonologis, yaitu (i) toutoi, (ii) toutoiiii, (iii) teetee, (iv) toutoshi, (v) touto, serta toutoi yang berkolokasi dengan (i) nomina dan (ii) verba. Kata toutoi juga dapat digunakan sebagai adverbia.

Wakamono kotoba or youth language is a language used by young people. One of the characteristics that distinguishes wakamono kotoba from standard Japanese is the change in meaning. This change can be seen through one example of wakamono kotoba, the word toutoi. The word toutoi originally meant ‘holy’, ‘noble’. However, the meaning of the word toutoi has changed over time. This research aims to explain the shift in the meaning of the word toutoi in wakamono kotoba. The data in this research was sourced from social media X. A questionnaire for Japanese native speakers was also created to help analyse the meaning of the word toutoi. The result shows that the meaning of the word toutoi varies depending on the context that follows. The word toutoi can mean ‘like’, ‘best’, ‘marvellous’, ‘cute’, ‘moved’, ‘amazing’, ‘perfect’, and ‘happy’. In addition, there are variations of the word toutoi that have undergone morphological and phonological changes, namely (i) toutoi, (ii) toutoiiii, (iii) teetee, (iv) toutoshi, (v) touto, and toutoi that collocate with (i) nouns and (ii) verbs. The words toutoi can also be used as an adverb."

"Setiap makna dalam leksem kai memiliki hubungan antarmakna yang masih berhubungan atau berkaitan, hal tersebut dimaknai sebagai polisemi. Ketika leksem kai berpadu dengan leksem lain, kemudian membentuk sebuah kata majemuk, maka makna leksikal kai dapat bertambah di konteks yang lebih luas. Fenomena tersebut disebut sebagai perluasan makna. Sering kali fenomena perluasan makna ini mengakibatkan makna leksikal yang asli dari leksem yang membentuk kata majemuk itu tidak transparan, karena konteks pemakaiannya sudah meluas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap dan menjelaskan bahwa makna leksem kai dalam kata majemuk bahasa Madarin, maknanya akan tetap kekal walaupun telah mengalami perluasan makna. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan dijelaskan secara deskriptif, yaitu mendeskripsikan fenomena perluasan makna pada leksem kai. Data yang digunakan berupa makna dan kata majemuk leksem kai dalam kamus Xiandai Hanyu Cidian (2017). Data akan dianalisis menggunakan teori analisis komponen makna Nida (1975) dan tabel persamaan konsep makna untuk mencapai tujuan penelitian. Dari hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa terjadi pengekalan makna pada setiap kata majemuk yang berpadu dengan leksem kai.

Each meaning of the lexeme kai shows the relationship of meaning between them. A word which has many related meanings is called polysemy. When the lexeme kai combines with another lexeme will form a compound words. The meaning of kai in those compound words will increase and can be used in a wider context. This phenomenon is interpreted as an extension of meaning. Often the original meaning is not transparent anymore because of the widespread usage context. The data are taken from the compound words containing the lexeme kai from Xiandai Hanyu Cidian (2017). This study uses a qualitative descriptive methods by describing the phenomenon of extensional meaning of lexeme kai. This study aims to prove that the meaning of the lexeme kai in compound words remain exist even though it has experienced an expansion of meaning. The data will be analyzed using Nida's (1975) theory of meaning components and the equation table of meaning concepts to achieve the aims of this research. The result shows that the meaning of each compound word of kai lexeme still exists."

"Penelitian ini membahas tentang idiom-idiom dalam bahasa Rusia yang menggunakan kata ‘jiwa’. Kata ‘душа / duša / jiwa’ memiliki makna mendalam untuk mengungkapkan sikap, nilai, dan harapan bangsa Rusia. Data yang digunakan berasal dari buku elektronik berjudul A Book of Russian Idioms Illustrated yang ditulis oleh Dubrovin tahun 1980. Penelitian ini bertujuan menjelaskan makna idiom-idiom dalam bahasa Rusia yang menggunakan kata ‘jiwa’ melalui skema citra. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori metafora konseptual oleh Lakoff dan Johnson (2003) dan teori skema citra oleh Croft dan Cruse (2004). Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif analisis. Hasil dari penelitian ini, yaitu jenis metafora mendominasi adalah metafora orientasional, sedangkan jenis skema citra yang mendominasi adalah space dan container.
This study discusses the idioms in the Russian language using the word ‘soul’. The word ‘душа / duša / soul’ has a deep meaning to express the attitudes, values and hopes of the Russian nation. The data used is from an electronic book entitled A Book of Russian Idioms Illustrated written by Dubrovin in 1980. This study aims to explain the meaning of idioms in Russian using the word 'soul' through image schema. This study uses the conceptual metaphor theory by Lakoff and Johnson (2003) and image schema theory by Croft and Cruse (2004). The method used is descriptive analysis. The results of this study are the most common type of metaphor found is orientational metaphor, while the dominating types of image schemes are space and container."

"Film The Falls 《瀑布》 (Pùbù) adalah film dengan tema drama keluarga yang disutradarai oleh Zhong Menghong. Film ini berlatar belakang pandemi COVID-19 yang mengisahkan kehidupan seorang janda bernama Pin Wen bersama putrinya, Xiao Jing. Suasana menegangkan terlihat ketika Pin Wen menderita gangguan mental. Misteri dalam film akhirnya terungkap ketika Pin Wen mengaku bahwa selama ini ia mendengar ilusi suara gemuruh air terjun yang membuatnya gelisah. Penelitian-penelitian terdahulu tentang film ini lebih menyoroti segi psikologi dan hubungan antar ibu-anak. Sementara itu, penelitian ini akan menganalisis apa makna dari air terjun dalam film ini sebab visualisasi air terjun sama sekali tidak dihadirkan hingga akhir film. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa air terjun merepresentasikan perjalanan hidup Pin Wen dan Xiao Jing. Layaknya air terjun besar yang menghantam ke permukaan beberapa air terjun kecil di bawahnya hingga membentuk suara gemuruh, lalu mengalir dengan tenang ke sungai. Pin Wen dan Xiao Jing telah melalui berbagai permasalahan, namun akhirnya sampai pada tahap keikhlasan.

The Falls 《瀑布》 (Pùbù) is a family drama film directed by Zhong Menghong. Set against the background of the COVID-19 pandemic, the movie follows the life of a widow named Pin Wen and her daughter, Xiao Jing. The tense scene is seen when Pin Wen suffers from mental illness. The mystery in the movie is finally revealed when Pin Wen confesses that she has been hearing the illusion of the roaring sound of a waterfall that makes her anxious. Previous studies of this film have focused more on psychology and mother-daughter relationships. Meanwhile, this research will analyze the meaning of the waterfall in the film since the visualization of the waterfall is not presented at all until the end of the film. This research found that the waterfall represents the life journey of Pin Wen and Xiao Jing. Like a large waterfall slams into the surface of several smaller waterfalls below to form a roaring sound, then flows calmly into the river. Pin Wen and Xiao Jing have gone through complicated problems, but finally come to the stage of sincerity."
