This study examines the teaching of reading skills using peer assisted learning strategies PALS method and the teaching of reading skills using traditional method. This study is quasi experimental with pre test post test control group and uses purposive sampling. The data were obtained from the results of the pre test, post test, the questionnaire of reading motivation and the students perception toward PALS method and the interview.
The study shows both methods improve the students reading skills significantly but the students in the experimental group achieved a higher score compared with the students in the control group. In addition, PALS method has increased the students reading motivation and the students taught with PALS method had a positive perspective toward the implementation of this method. "What type of practice makes a musician perfect? What sort of child is most likely to succeed on a musical instrument? What practice strategies yield the fastest improvement in skills such as sight-reading, memorization, and intonation? Scientific and psychological research can offer answers to these and other questions that musicians face every day. In The Science and Psychology of Music Performance, Richard Parncutt and Gary McPherson assemble relevant current research findings and make them accessible to musicians and music educators. This book describes new approaches to teaching music, learning music, and making music at all educational and skill levels. Each chapter represents the collaboration between a music researcher (usually a music psychologist) and a performer or music educator. This combination of expertise results in excellent practical advice. Readers will learn, for example, that they are in the majority (57%) if they experience rapid heartbeat before performances; the chapter devoted to performance anxiety will help them decide whether beta-blocker medication, hypnotherapy, or the Alexander Technique of relaxation might alleviate their stage fright. Another chapter outlines a step-by-step method for introducing children to musical notation, firmly based on research in cognitive development. Altogether, the 21 chapters cover the personal, environmental, and acoustical influences that shape the learning and performance of music."

"The learning process in higher nursing education develops student competences, such as applying standard precautions, in providing professional nursing care. To improve student knowledge and compliance related to standard precautions requires innovation from lecturers in providing appropriate learning methods. Peer-assisted learning (PAL) can enhance the active role of students and improve achievement. The PAL method involves senior students as peer teachers who help junior students. Using a questionnaire as an assessment instrument, this study aimed to determine the effectiveness of PAL on knowledge and compliance in the application of standard precautions in student nurses. This study design was quasi experimental with pre and post assessment and a control group design approach. This research was conducted at the D Hospital in Padang, Indonesia, a hospital where students practice. This study was conducted in June–September 2017 with a sample size of 45. Data analysis using paired t-test showed that the average values of the level of knowledge and skills of students in the application of standard precautions before and after PAL methods differed significantly in the intervention group (p= 0.001). In conclusion, PAL can be applied in the learning process of nursing students to increase student achievement."

Multiphase flow rate measurement is crucial in the oil and gas industry. Flow rate measurement is very important for optimization of production and flow assurance of oil production systems. Multiphase Flow meter (MPFM) is a tool used to measure multiphase flow rates so that it has the advantage of being able to take measurements and get flow rate results in a short time. As artificial intelligence develops, measurement can also be done virtually. Virtual Flow Metering (VFM) is a way of measuring multiphase flow rates using sensor data in the ESP and MPFM measurements. In this study, a machine learning model for flow rate estimation has been designed using the super learner method with the base learner XGBoost, AdaBoost, Bagging, Random Forest, and Extra Trees. The flow rate estimates obtained were evaluated and validated using the MAE, MAPE, R squared, and cumulative deviation plots. Based on the results of this evaluation, the super learner model shows better results than the base learner model used, with MAE 0.63, MAPE 1.60%, R squared 97.43%, and a maximum deviation of 12.5%."

Failure to pay for credit cards is a risk that needs to be managed, so banks need toapply credit scoring to predict cardholders who are at risk of default. Along withtechnological developments, there are various methods of credit scoring, so there isa need for a review of the effectiveness of credit scoring methods. This study aimsto predict default from demographic, payments, and savings data from credit cardholder and compare the effectiveness of some of the growing credit scoringmethods, and to know what factors influence in the modeling results. Thus, companies can mitigate risks early and can optimize revenue from other risklesscustomers. In this research, the result shows that random forest modeling withoutfeature selections has the best overall result, and logistic regression model is amodel that has less defiation than other modeling result. In addition there is also arelationship when a cut off point with accuracy and sensitivity. From the variabelsused in the model, utilization and credit card payment to be highly influentialvariabel in modeling, besides gender, profession, income, residence status andeducation level become an important variabel in this research."
