This study examined the role of parental career related behaviors towards commitment to career choice through career decision making self efficacy among adolescents. "Masa transisi dari perkuliahan ke dunia kerja merupakan periode yang penuh tantangan bagi mahasiswa tingkat akhir. Masa transisi ini seringkali diwarnai dengan berbagai ketidakpastian dan perubahan, sehingga menuntut individu untuk memiliki kemampuan beradaptasi yang baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat peran career decision self-efficacy dalam memediasi hubungan antara parental career-related behavior dan adaptabilitas karier pada mahasiswa tingkat akhir. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian non-eksperimental. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah purposive sampling. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa program sarjana (N=256) dari berbagai universitas di Jabodetabek yang sedang menempuh semester 6 atau lebih. Career Decision Self-Efficacy Scale – Short Form (CDSE-SF), Career Adapt-Abilities Scale (CAAS), Parental Career-Related Behavior Scale (PCB-S) menjadi alat ukur dalam penelitian ini. Pengolahan data dilakukan menggunakan Pearson Correlation dan macro PROCESS dari Hayes. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa career decision self-efficacy dapat menjadi variabel mediator parsial dalam hubungan antara support parental career-related behavior dengan adaptabilitas karier, dan menjadi mediator penuh dalam hubungan antara interference dan lack of engagement parental career-related behavior dengan adaptabilitas karier. Penelitian ini memiliki implikasi bahwa peningkatan career decision self-efficacy dan dukungan karier dari orang tua dapat meningkatkan adaptabilitas karier mahasiswa tingkat akhir. Penelitian ini memberikan manfaat bagi pengembangan karier di perguruan tinggi, mahasiswa, dan orang tua.

The transition from college to the workforce is a challenging period for senior year college students. These transitional periods are often colored with a variety of uncertainties and changes, thus demanding that individuals have good adaptability. This study aims to examine the role of career decision self-efficacy in mediating the relationship between parental career-related behavior and career adaptability among senior year college students. This is a quantitative study with a non-experimental research design. Purposive sampling was used to collect data from 256 undergraduate students from various universities in the Jabodetabek area who were in their 6th semester or higher. The research instruments used were the Career Decision Self-Efficacy Scale – Short Form (CDSE-SF), Career Adapt-Abilities Scale (CAAS), and Parental Career-Related Behavior Scale (PCB-S). Data analysis was conducted using Pearson Correlation and Hayes' macro PROCESS. The results of this study showed that career decision self-efficacy can be a partial mediator in the relationship between support parental career-related behavior and career adaptability, and a full mediator in the relationship between interference and lack of engagement parental career-related behavior and career adaptability. This research has implications that improved career decision self-efficacy and support parental career related behavior can improve the career adaptability of senior year college students. This study provides benefits for career development in higher education, students, and parents."

"Siswa yang memiliki efikasi diri dalam keputusan karier akan yakin dengan kemampuannya untuk melakukan tugas-tugas yang dibutuhkan dalam memilih jurusan kuliah yang tepat. Tinggi rendahnya keyakinan siswa tidak terlepas dari peran orang tua seperti harapan dan dukungan terkait karier. Siswa cenderung mematuhi orang tua karena budaya kolektivis di Indonesia menekankan pentingnya hubungan sosial yang harmonis. Di sisi lain, kepatuhan tersebut dapat membuat siswa merasa tertekan dan terpaksa memilih jurusan yang salah. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 349 siswa Sekolah Menengah Atas Kelas 12. Harapan karier orang tua diukur menggunakan subskala Perceived Parental Expectation pada faktor academic achievement (PPE-AA) dari alat ukur The Living up to Parental Expectation Inventory (LPEI), kongruensi karier remaja-orang tua diukur menggunakan Adolescent-Parent Career Congruence Scale (APCCS), dan efikasi diri dalam keputusan karier diukur menggunakan Career Decision Self-Efficacy Short Form (CDSE-SF). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persepsi siswa terhadap harapan karier orang tua dan kongruensi dengan orang tua mengenai karier dapat meningkatkan efikasi diri siswa dalam keputusan karier secara bersama-sama, F (2,346) = 41,011, p<0,001. Persepsi siswa mengenai kongruensi karier dengan orang tua lebih mampu meningkatkan efikasi diri siswa dalam keputusan karier dibanding persepsi terhadap harapan karier orang tua. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, orang tua diharapkan terlibat secara aktif dan mendukung karier siswa secara kongruen untuk membantu siswa merasa lebih yakin ketika memutuskan karier.

Students with career decision self-efficacy will believe in their capabilities to do various tasks needed in choosing the right college major. Student’s level of belief is related to their parents’ behavior such as expectations and support regarding career. Indonesia’s collectivist culture emphasizes the importance of harmonious social relations, making students tend to obey their parents. But obedience can also make students feel pressured and forced to choose the wrong major. The total of participants in this study amounts to 349 high school students in grade 12. Parental career expectations are measured by the Perceived Parental Expectation subscale on academic achievement (PPE-AA) from The Living up to Parental Expectation Inventory (LPEI), adolescent-parent career congruence is measured by Adolescent-Parent Career Congruence Scale (APCCS), and career decision self-efficacy is measured by Career Decision Self-Efficacy Short Form (CDSE-SF). The result of this study indicates that student’s perceptions towards parental career expectations and career congruence between them and their parents simultaneously can increase student’s career decision self-efficacy,
F (2,346) = 41,011, p<0,001. Student’s perceptions of career congruence with their parents are more capable of increasing student’s career decision self-efficacy when compared to student’s perceptions towards parental career expectations. Based on these findings, parents are expected to be actively involved and give congruent support in helping students to be more confident in making career decisions.

"Tesis ini membahas pengaruh sumber-sumber efikasi diri pengambilan keputusan karier dan efikasi diri pengambilan keputusan karier terhadap adaptabilitas karier remaja. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain analisis jalur menggunakan teknik analisis regresi dengan melibatkan 305 partisipan dari dua universitas swasta di Jakarta Barat. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa sumber-sumber efikasi diri memberikan pengaruh signifikan terhadap efikasi diri pengambilan keputusan karier, efikasi diri pengambilan keputusan karier memberikan pengaruh signifikan terhadap adaptabilitas karier remaja, sumber-sumber efikasi diri memengaruhi adaptabilitas karier melalui efikasi diri pengambilan keputusan karier. Juga ditemukan bahwa tiga dari lima sumber efikasi diri, yakni verbal and social persuasion, mastery experiences dan positive emotional arousal memengaruhi adaptabilitas karier, sementara dua sumber lainnya, yakni vicarious learning dan negative emotional arousal tidak memberikan pengaruh signifikan.

The purpose of this study is to understand the influence of sources of self-eficacy and career decision making self-efficacy to adolescence career adaptability. This is a quantitative research with a path analysis and simple regression techniques using 305 participants from two private universities in West Jakarta, Indonesia. The result showed a significant influence of sources of self-efficacy to career decision making self-efficacy, significant influence of career decision making self-efficacy to career adaptability, significant influence of self-efficacy to career adaptability through career decision making self-efficacy. The result also showed that only three among five sources of self-efficacy that have a significant influence to career adaptability : verbal and social persuasion, mastery experiences and positive emotional arousal, meanwhile two other sources: vicarious learning and negative emotional arousal did not have any significant influence. "

"ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui parental career-related behaviors seperti, tingkah laku mendukung, ikut campur, dan kurang terlibat sebagai prediktor yang dikategorikan dari ibu dan ayah terhadap adaptabilitas karier pada mahasiswa tingkat akhir. Pengukuran parental career-related behaviors menggunakan parental career-related behaviors inventory Dietrich Kracke, 2009 , sementara adaptabilitas karier menggunakan Career Adapt-Abilities Scale CAAS versi internasional Savickas Porfeli, 2012 yang telah diadaptasi ke dalam bahasa Indonesia. Penelitian dilakukan kepada 365 mahasiswa tingkat akhir di Indonesia. Hasil analisis regresi berganda menunjukkan bahwa tingkah laku ibu yang mendukung, ikut campur, dan kurang terlibat dalam karier anak tidak memprediksi secara signifikan adaptabilitas karier pada mahasiswa tingkat akhir, F 3, 361 = 1,868, p>0,05. Sementara itu, ketiga tingkah laku ayah juga tidak memprediksi secara signifikan adaptabilitas karier, F 3, 361 = 1,556, p>0,05.

ABSTRACT
This research aimed to examine parental career related behaviors i.e. support, interference, and lack of engagement categorized from mother or father as predictors of career adaptability i.e. career concern, control, curiosity, and confidence in Indonesian undergraduate students. Parental career related behaviors are measured by parental career related behaviors inventory Dietrich Kracke, 2009 and career adaptability is measured by International version of Career Adapt Abilities Scale CAAS Savickas Porfeli, 2012 that have been adapted to Indonesian. Offline and online questionnaire was distributed to 365 undergraduate students. Based on multiple regression analysis, the result showed that maternal career related behaviors not significantly predicted career adaptability on final year undergraduate student, F 3, 361 1,868, p 0,05. In addition, paternal career related behaviors also not significantly predicted career adaptability, F 3, 361 1,556, p 0,05."

"Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat hubungan antara persepsi kebebasan dalam memilih aktivitas waktu luang dan efikasi diri pengambilan keputusan karier pada remaja di Indonesia. Neulinger (1974) mendefinisikan persepsi kebebasan dalam memilih aktivitas waktu luang sebagai keadaan dimana individu merasa apa yang dia lakukan dalam aktivitas waktu luangnya didasarkan oleh keinginan dan pilihannya sendiri. Kemudian, efikasi diri pengambilan keputusan karier merupakan kepercayaan individu untuk dapat menyelesaikan berbagai tugas yang diperlukan dalam membuat keputusan karier dengan sukses (Taylor & Betz, 1983). Pengukuran persepsi kebebasan dalam memilih aktivitas waktu luang dilakukan dengan menggunakan Perceived Freedom in Leisure (Short Form) Scale yang dikembangkan oleh Witt dan Ellis (1985). Di samping itu, pengukuran efikasi diri pengambilan keputusan karier, dilakukan dengan menggunakan Career Decision-Making Self-Efficacy – Short Form (CDSE-SF) yang dikembangkan oleh Betz, Klein & Taylor (1996). Secara keseluruhan, terdapat 211 remaja (15 sampai 24 tahun) yang berpartisipasi dalam penelitian ini. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif yang signifikan antara persepsi kebebasan dalam memilih aktivitas waktu luang (M = 72.49, SD = 7.468) dan efikasi diri pengambilan keputusan karier (M = 113.76, SD = 14.211) pada remaja di Indonesia dengan r = 0.534 dan p < 0.05.

This research conducted to examine the correlation between perceived freedom in leisure and career decision making self-efficacy among Indonesian adolescents. Neulinger (1974) define perceived freedom in leisure as a state where the individual feels that what he/she does in leisure activities based on his/her own desires and his/her own choice. Then, career decision making self-efficacy is an individual’s belief that he/she can complete various tasks required in making career decisions successfully (Taylor & Betz, 1983). Perceived freedom in leisure was measured by using Perceived Freedom in Leisure (Short Form) Scale, developed by Witt and Ellis (1985). Beside, career decision making self-efficacy was measured by using Career Decision-Making Self-Efficacy - Short Form (CDSE-SF) developed by Betz, Klein and Taylor (1996). Overall there are 211 adolescents (15 - 24 years) that include in this research. The result showed a significant positive correlation between perceived freedom in leisure (M = 72.49, SD = 7.468) and career decision making self-efficacy (M = 113.76, SD = 14.211) in Indonesian adolescents with r = 0.534 and p < 0.05.

"Mahasiswa, khususnya yang sedang berada di tingkat akhir, sedang bersiap untuk memasuki dunia kerja dan meniti karier. Pemilihan karier yang mereka lakukan dipengaruhi berbagai hal, salah satunya efikasi diri dalam keputusan karier career decision self-efficacy; CDSE . Berbagai penelitian menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh aspek orangtua seperti kelekatan atau dukungan terhadap CDSE. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk melihat hubungan antara persepsi keterlibatan orangtua dan CDSE. Penelitian korelasional ini dilakukan pada 487 mahasiswa yang berada di tahun atau tingkat terakhir perkuliahan. Pengukuran keterlibatan orangtua dibagi menjadi tiga dimensi yaitu ekspresif, instrumental, dan mentoring/advising menggunakan Father Involvement Scale-Reported FIS-R; Finley Schwartz, 2004 dan Mother Involvement Scale-Reported MIS-R; Finley, Mira, Schwartz, 2008 . CDSE diukur dengan Career Decision Self-Efficacy?Short Form CDSE-SF oleh Betz, Klein, dan Taylor 1996 . Hasil menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif antara ketiga dimensi persepsi keterlibatan ayah dengan CDSE ekspresif: r=.206, p= le;.01; instrumental: r=.170, p= le;.01; mentoring/advising: r=.185, p= le;.01 dan hubungan positif antara ketiga dimensi persepsi keterlibatan ibu dengan CDSE ekspresif: r=.257, p= le;.01; instrumental: r=.273, p= le;.01; mentoring/advising: r=.266, p= le;.01 . Implikasi dari hasil penelitian ini serta saran untuk penelitian lanjutan didiskusikan.

Final year undergraduates are preparing to enter the workforce and to build their careers. Choosing a career is influenced by numerous factors, one of which is career decision self efficacy CDSE . A number of studies have shown positive relationships between some parental aspects, such as attachment or support, and CDSE. The purpose of this study is to see the relationship between perceived parental involvement and CDSE. This correlational study was conducted on 487 final year undergraduates. The measurement of perceived parental involvement was separated into three dimensions, namely expressive, instrumental, and mentoring advising using Father Involvement Scale Reported FIS R Finley Schwartz, 2004 and Mother Involvement Scale Reported MIS R Finley, Mira, Schwartz, 2008 . CDSE was measured using Career Decision Self Efficacy Short Form CDSE SF by Betz, Klein, and Taylor 1996 . Results showed positive relationships between the three dimensions of perceived father involvement and CDSE expressive r .206, p le .01 instrumental r .170, p le .01 mentoring advising r .185, p le .01 and also positive relationships between the three dimensions of mother involvement and CDSE expressive r .257, p le .01 instrumental r .273, p le .01 mentoring advising r .266, p le .01 . The implications of the results and suggestions for future studies are discussed.

"Penelitian yang dilakukan pada siswa kelas 10 ini bertujuan untuk melihat apakah terdapat hubungan antara kelekatan siswa pada orangtua dan teman sebaya dengan efikasi diri pengambilan keputusan karier siswa. Efikasi diri pengambilan keputusan karier dilihat dari pemilihan peminatan (MIA/IIS/Bahasa) yang dilakukan siswa kelas 10. Lebih jauh, diteliti pula perbandingan besar kontribusi antara kelekatan pada orangtua dan kelekatan pada teman terhadap efikasi diri pengambilan keputusan karier siswa. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan sampel 176 siswa kelas 10 di Depok. Hasilnya, terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara kelekatan pada orangtua dan efikasi diri pengambilan keputusan karier (r = 0,356, p < 0,01) serta terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara kelekatan pada teman dengan efikasi diri pengambilan keputusan karier (r = 0,249, p<0.01). Ditemukan pula bahwa kelekatan pada orangtua berkontribusi lebih besar terhadap varians efikasi diri pengambilan keputusan karier dibanding kelekatan pada teman. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, disarankan agar baik lingkungan keluarga maupun lingkungan sekolah mengusahakan terciptanya kelekatan dengan siswa.

This research was conducted to examine the relationship between parental attachment, peer attachment, and career decision-making self-efficacy in 10th grade students. Samples for this research are 176 10th grade high school students in Depok. Career decision-making self-efficacy was examined from choosing the major that student want to take on high school (Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, or Languages). Furthermore, researcher examined the difference of contribution between parental attachment and peer attachment to career decision-making self-efficacy. The results are, there is a significant relationship between parental attachment and career decision-making self-efficacy (r = 0,356, p < 0,01), also there is a significant relationship between peer attachment and career decision-making self-efficacy (r = 0,249, p<0.01). Results also showed that parental attachment gives more contributions to career decision-making self-efficacy than peer attachment. Based on the results, researcher suggest to family and school environment to build attachments between parent, peer, and students.

"Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran dukungan orang tua dalam karier dan kongruensi karier dengan orang tua terhadap career decision-making difficulties mahasiswa tingkat akhir. Penelitian ini menggunakan alat ukur Career-Related Parent Support Scale oleh Turner, Alliman-Brissett, Lapan, Udipi, dan Ergun (2003) dan Adolescent-Parent Career Congruence Scale oleh Sawitri, Creed, dan Zimmer-Gembeck (2013), dan Career Decision-Making Difficulties Questionnaire oleh Gati, Krausz, dan Osipow (1996) yang telah diadaptasi ke dalam bahasa Indonesia. Penelitian dilakukan kepada 410 mahasiswa tingkat akhir angkatan 2016 dan 2017 menggunakan teknik pengambilan data convenience sampling. Hasil analisis multiple regression menunjukkan bahwa dukungan orang tua dalam karier dan kongruensi karier dengan orang tua secara simultan berperan secara signifikan terhadap career decision-making difficulties mahasiswa tingkat akhir, F(2, 409)= 7,609, p= 0,001 , R2=0,036. Namun, hasil analisis secara parsial hanya menemukan kongruensi karier dengan orang tua yang memiliki peran signifikan secara positif terhadap career decision-making difficulties mahasiswa tingkat akhir, (β = 0,25, t= 3,45, p= 0,001). Berbeda dengan penelitian sebelumnya, hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peran orang tua belum mampu mengurangi kesulitan dalam pengambilan keputusan karier mahasiswa tingkat akhir. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa terdapat implikasi dan limitasi dari penelitian ini.

Incontrast to previous studies, the results showed that the roles of parents are unable to reduce career decision-making difficulties of final year students. These findings may indicate the limitations of this study."

"Penelitian yang dilakukan kepada siswa kelas 9 ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh pendidikan
dan keselarasan dukungan orang tua terhadap efikasi diri dalam keputusan karier. Pengukuran
pendidikan orang tua dilihat melalui form data demografis partisipan, keselarasan dukungan orang
tua diukur menggunakan alat ukur adolescent-parent career congruent, dan efikasi diri dalam
keputusan karier diukur menggunakan alat ukur Career Decision Self-Efficacy Short Form (CDSE-
SF). Partisipan penelitian ini berjumlah 200 partisipan kelas 9 yang berasal dari SMP Negeri di
Jakarta. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara
keselarasan dukungan orang tua terhadap efikasi diri dalam keputusan karier. Sedangkan
pendidikan orang tua tidak memiliki pengaruh terhadap efikasi diri dalam keputusan karier. Oleh
karena itu, keselarasan dukungan orang tua penting bagi siswa dalam menentukan keputusan karier.
Penelitian mengenai pendidikan orang tua terhadap efikasi diri dalam keputusan karier tidak
konsisten seperti penelitian sebelumnya. Penelitian yang akan datang disarankan menggunakan
alat ukur pendidikan orang tua yang konsisten.

The research conducted on 9th grade students aims to see the influence of parental education and
support congruent for Career Decision Self-Efficacy. The measurement of parental education was
seen through the participant demographic data form, parental support congruent was measured
using the measure of adolescent-parent career congruent, and career decision self-efficacy was
measured using the Career Decision Self-Efficacy Short Form (CDSE-SF). The participants of this
study were 200 9th grade students who came from junior high schools in Jakarta. The results of this
study indicate that there is a significant effect of parental support congruent for career decision
self-efficacy. Parental education does not have an influence on career decision self-efficacy.
Therefore, parental support congruent is important for students in determining career decisions.
Research of parental education on self-efficacy in career decisions is not consistent as in previous
studies. Future research is suggested to use a measuring tool that includes consistent with parental education.
