"Tesis ini mengkaji tentang upaya yang dilakukan oleh sebuah denominasi Kristen di Protestan yang mencoba membangun jembatan relasi dengan komunitas agama lain, yaitu Islam yang mereka narasikan sebagai tanggung jawab moral nubuatan (ramalan Alkitab) untuk merangkul dan menyelamatkan saudara teologis mereka dari genealogis agama monoteis yang sama. Membangun relasi dengan denominasi agama yang berbeda merupakan bagian dari upaya untuk membangun posisi yang lebih baik untuk menjalin kedekatan dan menjangkau umat dari agama yang memiliki kemiripan dan persamaan identitas teologis umat kedua agama. Dalam upaya membangun titik persamaan kedua pemeluk agama, mereka mengembangkan narasi terkait persamaan visi eskatologis tentang turunnya Isa Almasih (Yesus Kristus) di akhir zaman (apocalyptic). Hal yang menarik dari upaya membangun relasi tidak hanya menawarkan hubungan friendship (pertemanan) dalam pergumulan hubungan sosial semata, tetapi juga untuk bisa menjadi “teman spiritual” dari irisan persamaan identitas dan visi eskatologis kedua pemeluk agama. Narasi dan projek membangun relasi dan kedekatan pada strategi institusional dalam praktiknya di lapangan memunculkan varian baru yang mengarah pada hibriditas dan sinkretisme untuk mendamaikan dan mengkompromikan dua kategori nilai agama yang berbeda, yaitu Kristen dan Islam.

This thesis examines the efforts made by one of the Protestant denominations who try to build relationships with other religious community, namely Islam, which they narrate as the obligation of moral prophecy (Bible predictions) to embrace and save their theological brothers from the same monotheistic religious lineage. Building relationships with different religious denominations is part of the effort to build a better position to establish a close relation and reach out the people from the religions that have similarities in theological identities thereof. In an effort to build a common ground between the two religions, they developed a narration related to the eschatological vision of the descent of Isa Almasih (Jesus Christ) at the end of time (apocalyptic). The interesting thing about the effort of building relations is not only offering friendship in social relation per se, but also being able to become "spiritual friends" from the intersection of identities and eschatological visions of the two religious adherents. Narratives and projects that build relationships and closeness to institutional strategies in practice in the field give rise to new variants that lead to hybridity and syncretism to reconcile and compromise two different categories of religious values, namely Christianity and Islam."

"Cinta merupakan hal absurd yang dapat dialami oleh manusia. Suatu hal kompleks yang terkadang tak dapat begitu saja dijelaskan melalui kata-kata. Akan tetapi, cinta sering disederhanakan sebagai hal yang mendatangkan kebahagiaan. Hal tersebut merupakan kenyataan yang menjadi persepsi orang-orang miliki terhadap cinta. Namun, realitas dapat mengatakan yang berbeda bahwasannya cinta juga dapat berupa penderitaan yang menyebabkan kesedihan mendalam. Penderitaan tersebut menunjukkan sisi lain mengenai cinta yang selama ini jarang disadari oleh orang-orang. Meskipun begitu, terlalu prematur untuk sekadar mengatakan bahwa cinta hanya seputar kebahagiaan serta penderitaan karena cinta lebih kompleks dari hal tersebut. Dengan menggunakan metode autoetnografi, penelitian ini hendak menelaah realitas lain melalui pengalaman pribadi penulis atas pengalaman pahit cinta sebagai titik berangkat. Kemudian menelaah hal tersebut melalui pendekatan eksistensialisme Søren Kierkegaard untuk menunjukkan bahwa cinta merupakan hal absurd nan kompleks dengan segala bentuknya. Oleh karena itu, dapat disimpulkan bahwa cinta merupakan pilihan eksistensial yang diambil oleh setiap individu yang ingin merasakannya.

Love is an absurd thing that can be experienced by humans. A complex thing that sometimes is not enough to be explained through words. However, love is often simplified as the thing of full happiness. That’s the notion that people have about love. However, reality can say something different, that love can also be in the form of suffering which causes deep sadness. The suffering shows the other side of love that many people rarely realize. Even so, it’s too premature to say that love is only about happiness and suffering because love is more complex than that. Through the use of the autoethnographic method, this study seeks to examine other realities through the author's personal experience of the bitter experience of love as a starting point. Then examines it through Søren Kierkegaard's existentialism approach to show that love is an absurd and complex thing with all its forms. Which concludes that love is an existential choice taken by every individual who wants to feel it."

"This paper explains what love is by referring to the philosophical thoughts of some philosophers and the results of empirical research that have been done on the phenomena of love. Here also discussed the tendency to extend love on one side, narrowing and even negating love on the other. This paper takes the position that love as an existential project. Philosophically, love is seen as a continuing search for truth. As the fruit of the will and the sincerity of human endeavor, love has real and concrete results. In its concrete form, love is the embodiment of a common promise into reality a step by step process presents a concrete manifestation of the statements contained in the promise. This philosophical thought is corroborated by empirical studies of love that love differs from sexual passion or lust. Love can last long, eternal and stay intense through the couples efforts to care for each other, nurture and develop each other."
