"Penelitian ini mengkaji teori enam jenis maksim kesantunan berbahasa dalam ilmu pragmatik yang dirumuskan oleh Leech (1993) dalam acara program televisi gelar wicara di Rusia yang berjudul Вечер С Владимиром Соловьевым (Vecher S Vladimirom Solovevym) pada salah satu episodenya yaitu Вся Правда О Шоу-Бизнесе (Vsya Pravda O Shou-Biznese). Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif deskriptif. Penulis mengategorikan data tuturan dari percakapan partisipan acara ke dalam enam jenis maksim kesantunan. Dalam data penelitian ini ditemukan maksim kesantunan berjumlah total 29 tuturan yang terdiri dari lima tuturan maksim kedermawanan, empat tuturan maksim kebijaksanaan, tujuh tuturan maksim pujian, lima tuturan maksim kerendahan hati, enam tuturan maksim kesepakatan dan dua tuturan maksim simpati.
This research examines the theory of six types of language politeness maxims in pragmatics formulated by Leech (1993) in a talk show television program in Russia entitled Вечер С Владимиром Соловьевым (Vecher S Vladimirom Solovevym) in one of its episodes, namely Вс я Правда О Шоу-Бизнесе (Vsya Pravda O Shou-Biznese). The writing method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative. The author categorizes speech data from event participant conversations into six types of politeness maxims. In this research data, it was found that there are a total of 29 politeness maxims, consisting of five maxims of generosity, four maxims of tact, seven maxims of praise, five maxims of modesty, six maxims of agreement and two maxims of sympathy."

"ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh situasi dimana dalam gelar wicara
memiliki sebuah tuntutan utama yang harus dicapai yaitu bagaimana informasi bisa
diperoleh sebanyak-banyaknya dari bintang tamu.Untuk itu, pembawa acara dituntut
untuk memiliki keahlian yang terkait dengan bagaimana memilih strategi bertanya,
menyesuaikan topik, serta memilih kata yang mampu memicu respons dari bintang
tamu.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk merumuskan strategi bertutur yang
menghasilkan respons jawaban yang relevan. Penelitianinimerupakan penelitian
kualitatif. Data diperoleh dengan menggunakan teknik simak melalui perekaman dan
transkripsi data.Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik
padan. Pendekatan kualitatif dilakukan dengan memerhatikan tindak tutur langsung
dan tidak langsung, memerhatikan penggunaan strategi kesantunan, memerhatikan
relevansi jawaban dengan pertanyaan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan
TTTL dan TTL sama-sama efektif digunakan dalam memeroleh jawaban yang
relevan, namun harus disertai dengan penggunaan strategi kesantunan.Sementara itu,
faktor topik pembicaraan serta bintang tamu sangat memengaruhi pemilihan strategi
kesantunan.Oleh karena itu, penggunaan strategi kesantunan menjadi titik tolak
paling utama yang menentukan berhasil atau tidaknya pemerolehan jawaban yang
relevan.

ABSTRACT
This research is based on the situation where talk show has the main aim to be
aicheved; it is to require the information as much as possible from the guess stars.
Combining to this aim, the host is expected to have an ability in which how they
choose speech strategies to give the question, mathching the strategies used with the
topic, and how they choose the words which has the ilocusionary force. The aim of
this research is to formulate the speech strategy which is successful achieve more
information and relevant with question given. This research is qualitative research.
The data obtained by refer technique through recording and transcriptions data. The
data analyze by coherent technique. The qualitative approach is done by pay attention
to the direct and indirect speech act, the relevancy of the respons and question, and
politeness strategies. The data finding shows that both of direct and indirect speech
act are effective to use to acquire the relevant response. However, both of them
should be accompanied by politeness strategies. Meanwhile, the topic and guests are
the factors which influence the politeness strategies used. Therefore, politeness
strategies used is the main point which determines the relevancy of guest's responses."

"Seseorang harus dapat berbahasa dengan sopan untuk menghindari masalah dalam berkomunikasi. Selain secara leksikal seperti penggunaan tata bahasa tertentu, kesopanan juga dapat diwujudkan dari segi konteks atau niat pembicara. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membahas maksim kesopanan bahasa Korea yang dibatasi pada lingkungan pertemanan rentang usia dewasa muda dan dewasa paruh baya. Pertanyaan penelitian adalah berapa jenis maksim kesopanan yang muncul pada korpus data dan bagaimana perbedaan penerapan maksim kesopanan dalam percakapan bahasa Korea dalam lingkungan pertemanan pada rentang usia dewasa muda dan dewasa paruh baya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode analisis deskriptif. Korpus data merupakan dua drama yang menceritakan tentang pertemanan pada rentang usia dewasa muda dan dewasa paruh baya. Landasan teori penelitian ini adalah prinsip kesopanan Leech. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, keenam maksim kesopanan ditemukan pada korpus data. Saat berkomunikasi, masing-masing rentang usia memiliki cara ekspresi yang berbeda sehingga muncul sedikit perbedaan pada penerapan maksim kesopanan. Maksim kesopanan pada usia dewasa muda lebih banyak diterapkan untuk menghindari perselisihan, sementara pada usia dewasa paruh baya lebih banyak ditemukan maksim kesopanan untuk bersimpati.
One must be able to speak politely to avoid problems in communication. Aside from lexical method such as the use of certain grammar, politeness can also be realized in terms of context or the speaker's intention. This study aims to examine Korean politeness maxims limited in the setting of young adults and middle-aged adults friendship. Research questions are how many types of politeness maxims appear in the corpus data and what differs the application of politeness maxims in Korean conversations in young adults and middle-aged adults friendship setting. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis method. The corpus data are two dramas about friendship in the age range of young adults and middle-aged adults. The theoretical foundation of this research is Leech's politeness principle. Based on the analysis, all six maxims of politeness were found in the corpus data. When communicating, each age range has a different way of expression. This causes a slight difference in the application of politeness maxims. Politeness maxims between young adults are often applied to avoid disputes. Meanwhile, middle-aged adults often use politeness maxims to show sympathy."

Bagian 1: Analisis Situasi
Minat membaca masyarakat Indonesia masih tergolong rendah karena minimnya sarana, informasi, serta koleksi buku. Di sisi lain, upaya mengapresiasi karya sastra Indonesia mulai berkembang baik. Namun, kebanyakan orang cenderung menganggap sastra itu berat. Padahal sastra banyak memberikan manfaat. Diperlukan adanya program khusus soal karya sastra Indonesia untuk segmen dewasa muda. Media yang digunakan adalah radio karena meski jangkauannya luas tetapi bisa membangun hubungan personal.
Hasil riset khalayak terhadap 55 pendengar radio menunjukkan mayoritas dari mereka merasa butuh dan tertarik dengan ide program bertema sastra. Hampir semua responden setuju jika program karya sastra Indonesia ini direalisasikan.
Bagian 2: Manfaat dan Tujuan Pengembangan Prototipe
Manfaat bagi khalayak: Meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat terhadap pentingnya mengenal karya sastra Indonesia.

Program bertema sastra ini mengusung format talkshow, dengan nama ?AKSARA? (Apresiasi Karya Sastra Indonesia). Program akan mengudara di KBR, setiap Sabtu, selama 1 jam, pukul 19.00-20.00 WIB. Program ini menghadirkan sastrawan, penyair, budayawan, atau kritikus sastra sebagai narasumber.
Bagian 4: Evaluasi
Media pre-test dilakukan dengan metode Focus Group Discussion (FGD) sebanyak 2 kali. Peserta FGD adalah 10 orang berusia 20-30 tahun. Pre-test dilakukan sebulan sebelum hari siaran program dan setelah prototipe program diproduksi.
Evaluasi akan dilaksanakan secara aktif dan pasif, setelah program disiarkan. Metodenya adalah kuesioner digital dan memantau respon pendengar via SMS, email, dan Twitter.

Indonesian literacy awareness is still low due to the lack of facilities, information, and book collections. On the one hand, the effort to appreciate Indonesian literature is growing immensely. On the other hand, many people tend to assume that literature is way too heavy, when actually it may give a very rewarding results to the ones study it. There is a growing need for a special program that discusses Indonesian literature targeting young adults segment. Radio became the media that the writer choose because it has the ability to reach a wide-scope of listeners, while still maintaining intimate-personal relationship with its designated listeners.
The result of audience?s research to the 55 radio listeners show that the majority of them need and excited to the idea of literature-themed programme. Most of them agree, incase this program of Indonesian literature to be created.
Part 2: The Advantages and the Purposes of Prototype Development
Benefits for the audience: Raising the public awareness on the importance of knowing Indonesian literature. Benefits for managers:Managing a positive image for the radio itself because it uses Indonesian literature as a tool to educate people. Economic benefits: Getting additional income. Social objectives: Introducing the works of Indonesian author. Economic objectives: Getting profits from advertisement and sponsorship.
Part 3: The Developed Prototype
This programme carries a talk show format, called "AKSARA" (Appreciation for Indonesian Literature). The program will air at KBR, every Saturday, for 1 hour, from 19:00 to 20:00 pm. This program presents a writer, a poet, a cultural observer, or literature critics as source persons.
Part 4: The Evaluation

"Tesis ini berfokus pada strategi bertutur dalam forum daring. Data dalam penelitian ini adalah tuturan tertulis yang diambil dari diskusi yang terjadi di utas “Konsultasi: Problematika dengan Pacar”, dalam forum daring Female Daily, pada bulan Oktober 2014. Penelitian kualitatif dengan ancangan pragmatik ini bertujuan untuk menunjukkan bagaimana penanya dan penanggap dalam diskusi menggunakan strategi kesantunan. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa penanya dan penanggap menggunakan empat strategi kesantunan yang dirumuskan oleh Brown dan Levinson (1987, 1996), yaitu bertutur terus terang tanpa basa-basi, bertutur terus terang dengan basa-basi kesantunan positif, bertutur terus terang dengan basa-basi kesantunan positif, dan bertutur secara samar. Secara umum, penanya lebih banyak menggunakan strategi bertutur terus terang dengan basa-basi kesantunan positif dan penanggap menggunakan dua strategi bertutur, yaitu terus terang dengan basa-basi kesantunan positif dan bertutur terus terang dengan basa-basi kesantunan negatif. Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa penanya cenderung mengakrabkan diri dengan penanggap dan penanggap juga berupaya untuk dapat melindungi muka penanya dari keterancaman dengan mengakrabkan diri dengan penanya dan membebaskan penanya dari pembebanan yang mungkin ditimbulkan dari pendapat atau saran yang diberikan oleh penanggap.

This thesis focuses on politeness strategies in an online forum. The data in this study is a written speech taken from the discussions in the thread "Consultation: Problems with Boyfriend", in the online forum Female Daily, in October 2014. The qualitative research under pragmatics approach examined how the enquirers and respondents in the discussion using politeness strategies. The results show that the enquirers and respondents utilized four politeness strategies formulated by Brown and Levinson (1987, 1996), namely on record, positive politeness, negative politeness, and off record. The results show that the enquirers used a mainly positive politeness strategy and the respondents used both positive politeness and negative politeness strategies in an attempt to protect the face of the enquirers from being threatened. By highlighting friendliness with the questioner and at the same time also avoiding giving offense by showing deference, freed the questioner from the burden that may have arisen from the opinion or suggestion given by the respondent."

"Penelitian ini membahas ekspresi kesantunan dalam tuturan yang termasuk ke dalam 10 constraints Strategi Utama Kesantunan oleh Leech (2005). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan constraints kesantunan dan menjabarkan ekspresi kesantunan yang muncul pada seri buku 对外汉语本科系列教材 Duìwài Hànyǔ Běnkē Xìliè Jiàocái Bahan Ajar Berseri untuk S1 Bahasa Mandarin sebagai Bahasa Asing (一年级教材 Yī Niánjí Jiàocái Buku Ajar Tahun Pertama). Manfaat yang ingin dicapai dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mendukung pemahaman pragmatik dalam kesantunan berbahasa Mandarin, serta menunjukkan bentuk-bentuk ekspresi kesantunan yang dapat digunakan oleh pembelajar. Penulis mengklasifikasi data tuturan dari buku ajar tersebut ke dalam Strategi Utama Kesantunan (SUK). Dari hasil penelitian ditemukan seluruh constraints SUK pada sumber data. Strategi yang paling banyak muncul adalah Strategi Generosity (Kedermawanan) dan Obligation of Self to Other (Kewajiban Diri sendiri terhadap Orang lain). Penulis juga menemukan bahwa beberapa ekspresi yang muncul pada data dapat digunakan dalam konteks yang berbeda-beda.

This study discusses the politeness expression within utterances which included in the 10 politeness constraints of Leech`s Grand Strategy of Politeness (2005). This study aims to describe the framework of the politeness and to elaborate the expression of politeness that appears in the textbook series 对外汉语本科系列教材Duìwài Hànyǔ Běnkē Xìliè Jiàocái Chinese Textbook Series for Undergraduate Foreign Language Teaching (一年级教材Yī Niánjí Jiàocái First Grade Textbook). We expect this research could benefit to support pragmatic understanding in Mandarin`s politeness, and also to signify a variety of forms of politeness expression the learners could use. The author classified speech data from the textbook which met the 10 constraints of Grand Strategy of Politeness (GSP). The results of this research founded that all GSP constraints appeared in the data source. The most common strategies are the Generosity and the Obligation of Self to Other. The authors also found that some of the expressions that appear in the data can be used in different contexts."

"Trimbos Instituut menyajikan dua iklan layanan masyarakat sebagai edukasi orang tua di Belanda yang menunjukkan bagaimana kegagalan dan keberhasilan percakapan dapat terjadi terkait alkohol dan ekstasi. Iklan A diperankan oleh ayah dan anak laki-lakinya dan iklan B diperankan oleh ibu dan anak perempuannya. Kedua iklan menunjukkan dua gambaran situasi percakapan yang mengandung maksud yang sama, yaitu melarang anaknya minum alkohol dan menggunakan ekstasi. Namun, terdapat strategi yang berbeda dalam menuturkannya. Pertanyaan penelitian ini adalah bagaimana strategi kesantunan tindak tutur direktif dapat menjadi indikator kegagalan dan keberhasilan percakapan keluarga tentang alkohol dan ekstasi? Tujuan penelitian ini adalah membahas tindak tutur direktif yang akan diperjelas dengan kesantunan positif dan negatif serta strategi kesantunannya menurut Brown dan Levinson (1987) dan Houtkoop (2000). Melalui teori tersebut, ditemukan tokoh ayah menggunakan lebih banyak tindak tutur langsung tanpa strategi kesantunan, yaitu sebanyak 16 tuturan yang mengakibatkan adegan kegagalan percakapan berdurasi lebih lama dibanding tokoh ibu yang hanya memiliki sebanyak 4 tuturan. Sebaliknya, indikator keberhasilan percakapan melalui kesantunan positif dilakukan lebih banyak oleh tokoh ibu dibanding tokoh ayah.

The Trimbos Instituut provided two public service announcements as an education for parents in the Netherlands. Those are showing how conversations can be failed and succeed regarding alcohol and ecstasy. Advertisement A is played by the father and son, whereas advertisement B is played by the mother and daughter. The two advertisements showed two depictions of situations that have the same intention, namely to prohibit their teens from drinking alcohol and using ecstasy. However, there are different ways in telling it. The question of this research is how the politeness strategy of family directive speech acts can be an indicator of fail and success in the conversations? The purpose of this study is to discuss directive speech acts which will be clarified by politeness strategies according to Brown and Levinson (1987) and Houtkoop (2000). Through this theory, it was found that the father used 16 utterances direct speech acts without politeness strategies which effected in a longer conversation failure scene compared to the mother who only had 4 utterances. On the other hand, the indicator of the success of the conversation through positive politeness is carried out more by the mother than the father."

"Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi berbagai kesalahpahaman dari masyarakat umum mengenai kebudayaan sebambangan yang merupakan salah satu prosesi adat dalam pelaksanaan pernikahan kebudayaan lampung. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menafsirkan fenomena yang terjadi dalam proses sebambangan adat Lampung, khususnya dari sisi pragmatis kesantunan. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode kualititatif untuk menafsirkan fenomena pragmatik kesantunan dalam sebambangan. Data penelitian diambil dari rekaman suara yang dimiliki secara pribadi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan Teknik Simak Bebas Libat Cakap (SBLC). Dari keseeluruhan data, ditemukan bahwa setiap data memiliki minimal 1 jenis strategi kesantunan. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa kesantunan merupakan sesuatu yang penting untuk terus diterapkan selama proses sebambangan. Tanpa menerapkan prinsip-prinsip kesantunan, mungkin komunikasi akan berjalan tidak efektif dan prosesi sebambangan dapat berjalan dengan menemui kendala. Terdapat 26 jenis strategi kesantunan yang diterapkan dalam proses sebambangan yang terekam pada data. Sementara itu, hanya ada 4 strategi yang dilanggar. Pelanggaran itupun dilakukan untuk menerapkan strategi kesantunan yang lain. Fakta ini menjelaskan bahwa ada kemungkinan melanggar  strategi kesantunan sebenarnya bukanlah pelanggaran kesantunan. Oleh karena itu, memahami konteks percakapan sangatlah penting karena strategi kesantunan bisa menjadi baik untuk dilanggar pada situasi-situasi tertentu. Pada akhirnya, dapat disimpulkan bahwa kesantunan dalam sebambangan bersifat fleksibel.

This research was motivated by misconceptions from the public about the  culture of sebambangan which is a part of the the implementation of cultural marriage Lampung. the intention of this research is interpreting the phenomena that occur in the process of the traditional wedding culture of Lampung, especially from the pragmatic side of politeness. For this reason, qualitative approach is applied. The data was taken from privately owned voice recordings. The data was collected using Simak Bebas Libat Cakap Technique (listening without interrupting). From the 56 data in the entire sebambangan process, it’s found that each data had at least one type of politeness strategy. These findings confirm that politeness is important in order to have an agreement in this culture. Without applying the principles of politeness, communication might run ineffectively and the sebambangan procession can face more obstacles. Therefore, everyone involved in conversations in the event always upholds the values of politeness. In this study, there are 26 types of politeness strategies applied in the development process. Meanwhile, only 4 strategies were violated in order to apply another politeness strategy. Therefore, understanding the context of the conversation is very important because polite strategies can be good to be violated in certain situations, In the end, it can be concluded that the sebambangan is flexible."

"Tuturan atau ujaran yang berisikan kesantunan digunakan untuk menciptakan komunikasi yang baik dan harmonis. Dalam penelitian ini penulis membahas prinsip kesantunan yang ditulis oleh Geoffrey Leech. Menurut Leech prinsip kesantunan dibagi menjadi 6 jenis maksim yaitu; maksim kebijaksanaan, maksim kedermawanan, maksim pujian, maksim kerendahan hati, maksim kesepakatan dan maksim simpati. Metode penulisan yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif yang bersifat deskriptif melalui pengumpulan data. Objek yang digunakan pada penelitian ini berupa film yang berjudul Hoe Duur Was De Suiker karya Jean Van De Velde. Di dalam film ini telah ditemukan Kesantunan maksim yang berjumlah total 74 tuturan yang terdiri dari 6 maksim yakni maksim kebijaksanaan terdapat 37 tuturan, maksim kedermawanan terdapat 5 tuturan, maksim pujian terdapat 11 tuturan, maksim kerendahan hati terdapat 2 tuturan, maksim kesepakatan terdapat 7 tuturan dan maksim simpati ada 12 tuturan.

Speech or utterances that contain politeness are used to create good and harmonious communication. According to Geoffrey Leech there is a principle of politeness which is divided into 6 maxims; the tact maxim, the generosity maxim, the approbation maxim, the modesty maxim, the agreement maxim and the sympathy maxim. The method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative method. The object used in this research is a film entitled Hoe Duur Was De Suiker by Jean Van De Velde. The politeness maxims that have been found in a total of 74 utterances have complied with 6 maxims. In the tact maxim there are 37 utterances, the generosity maxim there are 5 utterances, the approbation maxim there are 11 utterances, the modesty maxim there are 2 utterances, the maxim of agreement there are 7 utterances and the maxim of sympathy there are 12 utterances."
