Kloning mendapatkan perhatian dari masyarakat ketika domba Dolly berhasil diciptakan, sebagai sebuah bukti nyata dari konsep kloning. Kloning domba Dolly yang telah berhasil menimbulkan posibilitas lain, yaitu kloning manusia. Kloning manusia sebagai sebuah konsep cenderung dilihat melalui sisi etis atau religi, atau sisi lainnya, tetapi tidak terdapat sebuah pendapat melalui kondisi mental atau kesadaran dari klon manusia itu sendiri. Jika kloning manusia merupakan sebuah posibilitas, maka pemahaman terhadap konsep kondisi mental atau kesadaran dari klon manusia perlu dibentuk melalui teori-teori dalam Philosophy of Mind, khususnya melalui argumentasi zombie pada dualisme properti dan fisikalisme.
