Abstrak :
OPAC searching system is developed with the main goal is to facilitate searching information as well as giving the relevant information to the searchers or browsers. Technology web 2.0 facilitate the internet users to interact widely, share idea/information or give comment to one content. The high product selling is influenced by one of the factors, that is, the recommendation from other people or community. Therefore, it can be the opportunity for the librarians to develop OPAC searching system with adopt the technology web 2.0. The users can directly customize and personalize the library services based on the experience of OPAC system. Feedback system with the feature relevance feedback on OPAC means that the users are given space to give input or other information on the searching results, so the document needed is the most relevant document to the users needs. Hybrid recommendations feature on OPAC, means the users are given space to get the seraching results based on the similar interest among the other users (content based filtering); and the searching results are also based on the recomemendation with the greatest or the highest rating (collaborative filtering). The library needs to provide user profile, in order to be the basic of the hybrid recommendations feature development. Searching system with the hybrid recommendation feature and relevance feedback which are adopted from social shopping can be the guidance to develop OPAC searching system based on the technology web 2.0 in the future. Recommendation system which is built can increase the collection use, the source of evaluation to develop collections, information system as well as the library services.

Abstrak :
OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog) merupakan salah satu sarana temu kembali informasi yang penting untuk diimplementasi oleh perpustakaan karena tidak hanya dapat membantu pustakawan dalam mengelola koleksi perpustakaan, tetapi juga dapat membantu pengguna menemukan bahan pustaka yang dibutuhkan secara mudah dan fleksibel. Meskipun demikian, OPAC dapat mengalami permasalahan ketika pencarian dilakukan seperti dokumen yang ditemukan tidak relevan dengan kueri yang diberikan oleh pengguna, informasi yang tersedia di OPAC tidak lengkap, dan sebagainya. Oleh sebab itu, peneliti melakukan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui dan menilai seberapa efektif dan efisien kinerja OPAC Perpustakaan UI berdasarkan kriteria evaluasi sistem temu kembali informasi Salton dan McGill. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kinerja OPAC Perpustakaan UI dinilai efektif dan efisien, hal ini terlihat dari rata-rata nilai precision yang berada di angka 0.87 atau tingkat precision tinggi, rata-rata waktu respons pencarian berada di angka 1,81 yang dinilai cepat, kecilnya upaya pengguna yang dibutuhkan, tampilan antarmuka OPAC Perpustakaan UI dan hasil pencarian yang disajikan dengan yang baik dan mudah untuk dipahami, serta lengkapnya cakupan koleksi yang tersedia di OPAC Perpustakaan UI. ......OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog) is an retrieval information tool which is considered important to be implemented by a library because it does not only help the librarians in managing the library’s collections but it also helps the users in retrieving the library materials easily and flexibly. Even so, OPAC might experience some problems such as documents that are retrieved are not relevant to the query given by the user, the information available in the OPAC is incomplete, and so on. Therefore, this study is conducted to find out and assess how effective and efficient the performance of UI Library’s OPAC based on Salton and McGill’s information retrieval system evaluations criteries. The results of this study indicate that the performance of UI Library’s OPAC is considered to be effective and efficient, which can be seen from the average of precision value which is at 0,87 and or a high level precision, the average search response time is at 1,81 seconds which is considered fast, small user effort is required, the interface display of UI Library’s OPAC and the search results that are well-presented and easy to understand, as well as the complete collection coverage that is provided in the UI Library’s OPAC.

Abstrak :
OPAC sebagai sarana temu kembali informasi sangat dibutuhkan bagi pengguna perpustakaan. Salah satu Perpustakaan yang telah memanfaatkan OPAC adalah Perpustakaan LAPAN Bandung. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pemanfaatan OPAC sebagai sarana temu kembali informasi di website Perpustakaan LAPAN Bandung. Penelitian ini menggunakan Metode Evaluasi Inspeksi Kebermanfaatan dalam meninjau pemanfaatan sistem OPAC dari 165 butir checklist sistem OPAC yang harus dipenuhi. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa hanya sebesar 41,82% butir checklist yang terpenuhi, artinya OPAC LAPAN Bandung masih belum baik. Oleh karena itu, Perpustakaan LAPAN Bandung perlu mengoptimalkan pengembangan website OPAC sehingga dapat lebih efektif dan efisien dalam memenuhi kebutuhan penggunanya. Adapun keluhan yang ditemui pengguna akibat kurangnya efektivitas OPAC adalah sulit menemukan informasi terkait ketersediaan buku. Pengguna masih harus mengandalkan penelusuran mandiri ke rak buku atau bertanya langsung kepada pustakawan. ......OPAC as a means of information retrieval is needed for library users. One of the libraries that uses OPAC is the LAPAN Bandung Library. This study aims to see the use of OPAC as a means of retrieving information on the LAPAN Bandung Library website. This study uses the Usability Inspection Evaluation Method in reviewing the utilization of the OPAC system from the 165 items of the OPAC system checklist that must be fulfilled. The results of the study show that only 41.82% of the 165 items of the OPAC system checklist were met. This shows that the quality of OPAC LAPAN Bandung is still poor. Therefore, Lapan Bandung Library needs to optimize the development of its OPAC website so that it can effectively and efficiently satisfy the needs of its users. The users complained the ineffectiveness of OPAC that it is difficult to find information regarding the availability of books. Users still have to independently browsing on the bookshelf or ask the librarian directly.
