[The book explores profiles of culture-management axis through secondary literature study in various languages of the East, empirical research conducted with nearly one thousand managers and 375 organizations in India. The effective management in the next millennium will be mission-based strategic integration of the team, combined with people-sensitive approach. In spite of growth of hi-tech, the emotional human issues will dominate the coming decades. Happiness and health in institutions will largely depend on successive sacrifice of greed and possessiveness in creation of wealth for human development. The meltdown in the US and its repercussions in the world are direct outcome of failure to learn these lessons. Already the world is witnessing acute consciousness of interdependence and universal linkages. This is the quintessence of Vedanta, Zen-Buddhism and Sufi order in the Eastern globe. West-dominated management technology must now synthesize with Eastern intuition and values. The book is divided into three parts. First part delves into East-West psyche. Second part presents integration-affection model as potential approach to effective management. Abstrak :
Focussing on a transcultural history, this book questions the territoriality of historical concepts and offers a narrative, which aims to overcome cultural essentialism by focussing on crossing borders of all kinds. The authors aim to present a useful approach to global history, showing first of all how a Eurocentric but universal historiography removed or essentialised certain topics in Asian history. This book accesses the global past after World War I, looking at the well known stage of the Paris Peace Conferences, observing the multiplication of new borders and the variety of transgressing institutions, concepts, actors, men and women inventing themselves as global subjects, but sharing a bitter experience with almost all local societies at this time, namely the awareness of having relatives buried in far distant places due to globalised wars.

Latar Belakang: Penyakit periodontal dapat terjadi sebagai bentuk manifestasi oral selama masa kehamilan. Penyakit ini diketahui merupakan salah satu faktor risiko terjadinya hasil kehamilan bayi dengan berat badan lahir rendah (BBLR) dan prematur. Untuk mencegah hal tersebut, kunjungan ke dokter gigi diperlukan sehingga kesehatan rongga mulut serta kesehatan bayi dan kehamilan dapat dijaga. Kondisi pengetahuan diketahui berhubungan dengan kunjungan ibu ke dokter gigi selama masa kehamilan. Untuk melihat bagaimana kondisi pengetahuan dan perilaku ibu hamil terkait kesehatan gigi mulut selama masa kehamilan, dibutuhkan sebuah instrumen penelitian yang valid dan reliabel. Namun sayangnya, instrumen seperti itu belum ada di Indonesia. Tujuan: Menganalisis nilai validitas dan reliabilitas kuesioner Knowledge and Behavior towards Oral Health during Pregnancy (KBOHP) versi Indonesia. Metode: Metode penelitian analisis deskriptif dengan rancangan potong lintang dan metode pemilihan sampel dengan convinience sampling menggunakan kuesioner KBOHP. Proses adaptasi lintas budaya dilakukan dengan pendekatan simetris. Analisis psikometrik yang dilakukan adalah validitas isi, validitas konstruksi, dan reliabilitas tes ulang. Hasil: Kuesioner KBOHP berhasil diadaptasi lintas budaya kedalam Bahasa Indonesia menggunakan pendekatan simetris. Sebanyak 167 orang bersedia berpartisipasi dalam penelitian. Nilai koefisien validitas isi I-CVI sebesar 0.8, namun nilai validitas konstruksi domain pengetahuan dan perilaku 0,05. Uji reliabilitas tes ulang menunjukkan nilai Intraclass Correlation 0,89-1. Kesimpulan: Kuesioner KBOHP versi Indonesia berhasil diadaptasi lintas budaya dari Bahasa Inggris. Kuesioner KBOHP valid dan reliabel untuk digunakan pada populasi Indonesia, namun untuk dapat meningkatkan validitas konstruksi, dibutuhkan penyempurnaan pada pertanyaan kuesioner.

ABSTRACT
Background: Periodontal disease may occur as an oral manifestation during pregnancy, it is known to be one of the risk factor for low birth weight and premature pregnancy outcomes. To prevent those situations, a visit to the dentist is needed, so that oral health, the health of the baby and also pregnancy could be maintained. Knowledge is known to be associated to womens visit to the dentist during pregnancy. To determine the condition of knowledge and behavior of pregnant women related to oral health during pregnancy, a valid and reliable instrument is needed. Unfortunately, such instrument is lacking in Indonesia. Objective: To analyze the validity and reliability value of the Indonesian version of Knowledge and Behavior towards Oral Health during Pregnancy (KBOHP) questionnaire. Method: This was analytic descriptive crossectional study with convinience sampling design using previously published KBOHP questionnaire. Cross-cultural adaptation of the questionnaire is done using Symmetrical approach. Psychometric analysis of the questionnaire were analyzed using content validity, construct validity, and test retest reliability. Result: The KBOHP questionnaire was successfully cross-adapted culturally into Indonesian using Symmetrical approach. There were 167 people agreed to participate in this study. The value of content validity index (I-CVI) was 0.8 but the construct validity of the knowledge and behavior domain was 0.05. The test and retest reliability showed the Intraclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC) value of 0.89-1. Conclusion: The KBOHP Indonesian version questionnaire was successfully cross-culturally adapted from the English version. The KBHOP Indonesian version was valid and reliabel to be used in Indonesian population. However, improvement is still needed on the items of the questionnaire in order to improve the construct validity.

Mindreading adalah kemampuan individu untuk memahami kondisi mental yang kemudian difungsikan untuk memprediksi perilaku individu lain. Terdapat beberapa faktor yang dikatakan mampu mempengaruhi kemampuan ini, salah satunya adalah karakteristik target yang ditandai oleh latar belakang etnis yang dimiliki. Melalui metode eksperimental, peneliti menggunakan alat ukur Strange Stories Task (SST) kepada 50 partisipan (15-18 tahun) yang merupakan siswa SMA beretnis Jawa di wilayah DKI Jakarta, untuk melihat pengaruh antara jenis cerita pada alat ukur dan latar belakang etnis target terhadap kemampuan mindreading. Analisis pada total skor dan response time menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat pengaruh antara latar belakang etnis target terhadap kemampuan mindreading remaja di Jakarta. ......Mindreading is an ability to perceive the mental states of other, also to predict the future action of other. There are several factors that can affect mindreading, for example the characteristic of target, which highlighted by the cultural background. This research is using an experimental method by administering Strange Stories Task (SST) to 50 participants (15-18 years), whose admitted as Javanese and are student of high school in DKI Jakarta, to investigate the impact of target’s cultural background on mindreading. Results show that the target’s cultural background does not have impact on participants’ mindreading regarding to the total score and response time.

Penelitian ini membahas puisi karya Rasul Gamzatov "Dagestan" yang ditulis pada tahun 1951. Penelitian ini menganalisis penerjemahan lintas-budaya dalam puisi tersebut. Puisi ini terdiri dari delapan bait dan diterjemahkan oleh Ladinata Jabarti. Teori yang digunakan adalah Teori Puisi (Eliot,1986) dan Teori Penerjemahan Lintas Budaya (Bassnett, 2011). Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif-kualitatif (Ritchie dan Lewis, 2004). Puisi ini mencerminkan kecintaan Gamzatov terhadap Dagestan, negara bagian multietnis di Rusia. Penerjemahan puisi ini memuat konteks Dagestan terkait alam dan budayanya. Penerjemahan puisi dilakukan dengan melibatkan dua bahasa yaitu bahasa Rusia dan bahasa Indonesia. Pembahasan penerjemahan ini dilakukan perbait dan meliputi lintas-budaya antara Rusia dan Indonesia. Empat hasil penelitian terkait lintas-budaya didapatkan dalam penelitian ini, yaitu rantau, cinta tanah air, patriarki, dan agraris. ......This research discusses the poetry by Rasul Gamzatov "Dagestan" which was written in 1951. This research analyzes the cross-cultural translation of the poem. This poem consists of eight verses and was translated by Ladinata Jabarti. There are two theories used: Poetry Theory (Eliot, 1986) and Cross-Cultural Translation Theory (Bassnett, 2011). The method used is descriptive-qualitative method (Ritchie and Lewis, 2004). This poem reflects Gamzatov's love for Dagestan, a multi-ethnic state in Russia. The translation of this poem contains the context of Dagestan regarding its natures and cultures. The translation of the poem involves two languages, namely Russian and Indonesian. The discussions on this translation are carried out for each verse and cover cross-cultural relations between Russia and Indonesia. Four research results related to cross-culture are obtained in this research, namely wandering, love of homeland, patriarchy, and agrarian.
