This thesis discusses identity construction process of the Hadrami-Indonesians people based on hybridity theory framework. Hybridity studies become significant, not only because this framework is rarely used in analyzing identity construction process of Hadrami-Indonesians, but also because this framework could define process, actor and liminal dialogue area in identity construction. Thorough analysis in liminal area is useful in understanding identity construction of a certain group with its larger group (Indonesia) that intersects in identity border. This research used qualitative approach with descriptive research type. Data collecting is done through observations, in depth interviews and bibliographical studies. At the end, this studies discover that first of all, hybridity can be use in a object of study involving more than two actors; interaction space between the actor as a third space could be in a shape of incisions from various actors, not just liminal space between two actors. Secondly, in a case where hybridity studies discusses broad dialogue topic then hybridity concept could be classified in each layers of topics with the same actors. Third, identity is a hybrid (or mixture) of a stable position element which will not change alongside construction process with flexible position element in dealing with (or position itself) dynamic condition in a certain time.;This thesis discusses identity construction process of the Hadrami-Indonesians people based on hybridity theory framework.

At the time of its emergence, The Beatles was received with two different reactions; a very enthusiastic and warm welcome by the youth and a very strong objection by parents, teachers and government. The Beatles brought to the surface many things that people didn't realize before and caused many changes. To the youth, it symbolizes freedom, an outlet of expression, a time to be the center of the attention; to the working class people The Beatles was a hope for the eradication of the invisible restriction wrapping them (known as class division) and a medium to go to the higher plane in the society; and to the Establishment The Beatles was an alarm of threat to the power and authority they possessed. With so many interests and ideologies took part behind the sky rocketing popularity of the band, it is very interesting to observe further the phenomenon which later involved many people in the United Kingdom and also the world. More interestingly, the attitudes first showed by the elite group of people called the Establishment has eventually changed. Not only did they accept the group but also now they co-opt the group as nation's cultural identity. Clearly there has been a big change in the society, and this thesis would like to investigate the contesting ideologies behind the change and the circumstance in Britain's present society through cultural studies approach with the focus on moments of Representation and Production / Consumption using Semiotics theory in the concept of Mythology set forward by Roland Barthes."

"This article explores Ousmane Sembene's short story La Noire de… (Black Girl) and its film
version by using the binary structure of the film, corresponds to the crude binary system that
underlies any system of oppression and exploitation, a system that divides the world into two
opposing categories: the oppressed and the oppressors.
By focusing exclusively on Diouana's situation, we can trace a similar binary relationship in
reverse. This film leads to the study of society that linked between female domestic labor and
the general political structure."

ABSTRACT
This article will be talking about identity crisis that happened to the main character, named Laure, in Céline Sciamma’s Tomboy. Through the analysis provided in this article, we will see that Laure, as a young girl, felt that she has a gender identity crisis. This identity crisis is shown by her masculinity from the beginning until the end of the film. However, her masculinity has made her being accepted by her friends in the neighbourhood. Laure finally did some changes to herself, from her attitude, to her physical appearance so that she would appear as much of a boy as she can be. She had to face a lot of challenges, and those challenges mainly came from her family. Therefore, she had to live two different lives with two different identities, as Laure and Mikaël."
