"Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat bagaimana hubungan antara pengalaman neglect oleh orang tua pada masa kanak-kanak dan psychological distress ketika dewasa. Penelitian dilakukan kepada 382 mahasiswa tahun pertama di Universitas Indonesia dengan rentang usia 18-20 tahun. Psychological distress diukur menggunakan Self Reporting Questionnaire (WHO, 1994) dan childhood parental neglect diukur dengan The Multidimensional Neglectful Behavior Scale, Form AS: Adolescent and Adult-Recall, Short Version (Straus, Kinard, & Williams, 1995). Pengujian statistik dengan simple linear regression membuktikan bahwa childhood parental neglect (M = 13.94 , SD = 3.83) dan psychological distress (M = 7.23, SD = 4.70) berkorelasi secara signifikan dan positif (F(1.380) = 29.521, p = .000) dengan effect size sebesar R2 = 0.072. Hal ini mengindikasi bahwa psychological distress yang dialami mahasiswa tahun pertama di Universitas Indonesia berhubungan dengan pengalaman childhood parental neglect, dimana jika skor childhood parental neglect meningkat maka skor psychological distress juga akan meningkat.

This research aimed to explore the relationship between childhood experience of neglect by parents and later psychological distress. The research conducted to 382 first-year students at Universitas Indonesia with age range of 18-20 years. Psychological distress is measured using the Self Reporting Questionnaire (WHO, 1994) and childhood parental neglect is measured by the Multidimensional Neglect Behavior Scale, Form US: Adolescent and Adult-Recall, Short Version (Straus, Kinard, & Williams, 1995).

Statistical testing with simple linear regression proved that childhood parental neglect (M = 13.94, SD = 3.83) and psychological distress (M = 7.23, SD = 4.70) correlated significantly and positively (F(1.380) = 29.521, p = .000) with an effect size of R2 = 0.072. The result indicates that the psychological distress experienced by first-year students at Universitas Indonesia related to the history of childhood parental neglect, when the childhood parental neglect score increases, the psychological distress score will also increase."

"Fitur live streaming telah menjadi alat yang populer sebagai strategi bisnis sebagai upaya untuk membangun interaksi. Maraknya strategi ini menyebabkan perusahaan berlomba untuk membangun user stickiness, yang jika terbentuk dapat berpengaruh positif terhadap pembentukan word of mouth. Word of mouth yang positif merupakan peran penting dalam penjualan karena dianggap sebagai indikator untuk menilai produk sebelum membeli sebagai bantuan untuk mengurangi ketidakpastian dalam pengambilan keputusan. Namun, penelitian yang sudah ada tidak memberi perhatian yang cukup pada manfaat penggunaan strategi ini pada pembentukan word of mouth. Karena itu, tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat pembentukan word of mouth yang didapatkan oleh penggunaan live streaming menggunakan teori socio-technical approach dan attachment theory. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif melalui kuesioner online dan memiliki 12 hipotesis dengan pendekatan purposive sampling. Responden sebanyak 319 orang yang merupakan pengguna TikTok Live Shopping. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan SmartPLS. Hasil yang didapatkan adalah live streaming memiliki dampak positif terhadap pembentukan user stickiness dan word of mouth. Streamer memiliki pengaruh cukup besar pada interaksi dengan penonton live streaming, pembentukan platform attachment, user stickiness, dan word of mouth. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa vicarious expression tidak berpengaruh positif terhadap platform attachment. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi kepada praktisi bisnis di Indonesia untuk memanfaatkan live streaming sebagai strategi untuk mempertahankan konsumen dengan menjadi lebih dekat dengan konsumen, dan mengisi celah dalam penelitian sebelumnya yang hanya mempertimbangkan loyalitas suatu brand dalam bentuk transaksi saja, yaitu bantuan teoritis yang mempelajari hubungan antara user stickiness terhadap pembentukan word of mouth pada platform live streaming.

Live streaming has been a popular tool as a selling strategy in an attempt to promote interaction, which drove businesses to compete to build user stickiness that later have a positive effect on word of mouth. Word of mouth plays an important role in business since it is viewed as an indicator to evaluate the product before buying to help eliminate uncertainty in decision making. However, past research does not give enough attention to the benefits of using live streaming in the forming of word of mouth. Therefore, the goal of this research is to see the forming of word of mouth formed by the use of live streaming using the socio-technical method and attachment theory. There are a total of 12 hypotheses in this quantitative research. Purposive sampling was used to collect data through the distribution of online questionnaires. Respondents were 319 TikTok Live Shopping users, examined using SmartPLS. The result is live streaming has a positive effect on user stickiness and word of mouth. Streamers have a big influence on interaction with the audience, building platform attachments, user stickiness, and word of mouth, so that marketers may maximize the use of live streaming by working with the most suitable streamers. This research also found that vicarious expression has no positive effect on platform attachment. This research contributes to business practitioners in Indonesia by using live streaming as a strategy to retain consumers by being closer to consumers, and fills the gaps in previous research that only considered brand loyalty in the form of transactions by giving theoretical support for studying the relationship between user stickiness and the forming of word of mouth on the live streaming platform. "Peran dan kehadiran pengasuh sangat dibutuhkan anak-anak imigran karena kelekatannya dapat membantu mereka untuk beradaptasi dengan kondisi kehidupan dan lingkungan yang baru. Kelekatan anak dengan lingkungan fisik tempat tinggal mereka juga dapat mempengaruhi proses adaptasi mereka. Dua novel bertema migrasi, Journey of the Sparrows (1991) dan Esperanza Rising (2000), mendukung teori kelekatan (attachment theory) yang dikemukakan oleh Bowlby (1969, 1973, 1980) dan dapat digunakan sebagai contoh bagaimana teori ini dapat diaplikasikan oleh imigran yang tinggal di lingkungan baru. Studi berbasis literatur ini menggunakan perspektif attachment theory untuk menganalisis bagaimana dua bentuk kelekatan, antar manusia dan tempat, mendukung perkembangan individu kedua karakter utama serta mengatasi situasi yang sulit dan mengancam. Studi ini juga membahas bagaimana kesedihan dan kehilangan dapat meningkatkan kebutuhan akan bentuk-bentuk kelekatan dan berperan sebagai pendorong pada perkembangan individu. Studi ini menemukan bahwa keterikatan pada figur dewasa dan tempat dapat mendorong adaptasi dan perkembangan seseorang di lingkungan baru. Tantangan yang dihadapi oleh karakter utama di dalam novel tersebut dapat memberikan wawasan dalam masalah sosial dan emosional yang dihadapi oleh anak-anak imigran diseluruh dunia dan bagaimana kita, sebagai masyarakat, harus mengatasi masalah tersebut.

Among migrant children moving to a new country, the role of the caregiver is important because attachment to parental or familiar figures can help children to adapt to the new living conditions in another country. The attachment of the children to their home and hometown can also be powerful drivers of adaptation among migrant children in a new environment. Journey of the Sparrows (1991) and Esperanza Rising (2000) are two novels about young adults emigrating from their home country to the United States to look for a better life outside their troubled homeland. These two stories are in accordance with Bowlby’s theory of attachment (1969, 1973, 1980) and can be used as examples of how the theory might work for real-life migrants in a new environment. This literary-based study adopts psychological perspectives to analyze how the two forms of attachment, attachment to people and place, supported the main characters’ individual development in the new country, i.e., how they were able to overcome and recover from difficult and threatening situations in pursuit of better lives for them and their family. In addition, this paper also explores how grief and loss can foster the need for those forms of attachment and act as boosters for individual development. The study finds that attachment to parental or adult figures and places can encourage individual’s adaptation and development in the new environment. The challenges faced by the main characters in the novels may provide valuable insights to the social and emotional problems faced by migrant children worldwide and how we, as global citizens, should approach the problems."

TikTok LIVE merupakan salah satu platform yang telah mendapatkan popularitas luar biasa, menjadi suatu ekosistem yang memungkinkan adanya pertukaran informasi secara real-time dengan live streamer. Selain itu, penonton juga dapat memberikan dukungan dan apresiasi melalui sistem virtual gift yang disediakan oleh TikTok. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi gift-giving intention khususnya pada platform TikTok LIVE. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode mix-method, dimulai dengan analisis kualitatif untuk membangun model penelitian, dilanjutkan dengan analisis kuantitatif menggunakan PLS-SEM terhadap 400 pengguna TikTok LIVE yang sudah pernah memberikan virtual gift kepada live streamer. Teori utama yang digunakan pada penelitian ini meliputi socio-technical systems, self-determination theory, serta didukung dengan attachment theory. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa live streamer characteristic (expertise) dan social system (identification, interactivity, dan information value) memengaruhi emotional attachment yang kemudian berpengaruh signifikan terhadap platform attachment dan gift-giving intention; technical system (convenience of gifting, competitiveness, dan personalization) memengaruhi platform attachment yang kemudian berpengaruh signifikan terhadap gift-giving intention; serta gift-design aesthetics berpengaruh signifikan terhadap gift-giving intention. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memperkaya penelitian sebelumnya terkait perilaku gift-giving dan dapat memberikan saran praktis bagi para pelaku industri live streaming, khususnya di TikTok LIVE.

TikTok LIVE is one of the platforms that has gained immense popularity, being an ecosystem that allows real-time exchange of information with live streamers. In addition, viewers can also provide support and appreciation through the virtual gift system provided by TikTok. This study aims to analyze the factors that influence gift-giving intention, especially on the TikTok LIVE platform. This research uses a mix-method method, starting with a qualitative analysis to build a research model, followed by a quantitative analysis using PLS-SEM of 400 TikTok LIVE users who have given virtual gifts to live streamers. The main theories used in this study include socio-technical systems, self-determination theory, and are supported by attachment theory. The results of the analysis show that live streamer characteristics (expertise) and social systems (identification, interactivity, and information value) affect emotional attachment which in turn has a significant effect on platform attachment and gift-giving intention; technical systems (convenience of gifting, competitiveness, and personalization) affect platform attachments which then have a significant effect on gift-giving intention; and gift-design aesthetics have a significant effect on gift-giving intention. It is hoped that this research can enrich previous research regarding gift-giving behavior and can provide practical suggestions for live streaming industry players, especially on TikTok LIVE."
