ABSTRAKPemberian ASI eksklusif mengurangi tingkat kematian bayi yang disebabkan
berbagai penyakit umum, mempercepat pemulihan dan menjarangkan kelahiran.
Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui hubungan antara karakteristik,
pengetahuan, sikap dan dukungan keluarga terhadap pemberian ASI ekslusif di
Puskesmas Bandar Huluan dengan desain penelitian deskriptif rancangan cross
sectional, besar sampel sebanyak 78 bayi melalui wawancara dengan kuesioner
pada ibu bayi usia 6-12 bulan. Ditemukan 21,8% ibu berperilaku ASI eksklusif.
Hasil uji chi square menunjukkan ada hubungan yang bermakna (p value<0,05)
antara pemberian ASI segera OR=9,0(95%CI:1,1-72,7), pengetahuan
OR=21,5(95%CI:2,7-172,9), sikap OR=16,5(95%CI:2,1-132,6), dan dukungan
keluarga OR=4,4(95%CI:1,3-14,9) dengan pemberian ASI eksklusif. Disarankan
untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan ibu tentang manfaat ASI eksklusif dan
kecukupan ASI eksklusif melalui promosi kesehatan, melibatkan keluarga dan
pentingnya melakukan pemberian ASI segera.
ABSTRACTExclusive breastfeeding reduces infant mortality due to various common diseases,
accelerate recovery and the intervals between births. The purpose of this study
was to investigate relationship the characteristics, knowledge, attitude and family
support for exclusive breastfeeding in the Bandar Huluan Public Health Center
with the descriptive research cross sectional design, sample size of 78 infants
through with interviews by a questionnaire of maternal infant aged 6-12 months.
Found 21.8% exclusive breastfeeding mothers behave. The chi square test results
showed significant relationship (p value <0.05) between breast-feeding
immediately OR = 9.026 (95% CI: 1.120 to 72.737), knowledge, attitudes, and
family support OR = 4.375 (1.279 to 14.971) with breastfeeding exclusive. It is
recommended to increase the knowledge of mothers about the benefits of
exclusive breastfeeding and the adequacy of exclusive breastfeeding through
health promotion, involving the family and the importance of breastfeeding
immediately in the exclusive breastfeeding."
