Gunung Endut located in Lebak, Banten is one of the prospected area of geothermal energy resource in the island of Java, Indonesia. The presence of clay mineral in the surface can aid to the determination of fluid type and hydrothermal fluid temperature circulating in Gunung Endut. Based on the collected samples, petrography analysis revealed the presence of clay minerals and diffraction method confirmed the presence of dickite, montmorillonite, kaolinite, pyrophyllite, chlorite, diaspore and illite. Three zonation were laid out based on the intensity of the alteration also the acidity and temperature of the circulating hydrothermal fluids. It is predicted that clay minerals were widely spread in Gunung Endut are due to the permeability of the rock and the topography of the research area."

"This book provides a global synthesis of the treeline phenomenon from sub-arctic to equatorial latitudes and a functional explanation based on the biology of trees. The comprehensive text approaches the subject in a multi-disciplinary way by exploring forest patterns at the edge of tree life, tree morphology, anatomy, climatology and, based on this, modelling treeline position, describing reproduction and population processes, development, phenology, evolutionary aspects, as well as summarizing evidence on the physiology of carbon, water and nutrient relations, and stress physiology. It closes with an account on treelines in the past (palaeo-ecology) and a section on global change effects on treelines, now and in the future. With more than 100 illustrations, many of them in colour, the book shows alpine treelines from around the globe and offers a wealth of scientific information in the form of diagrams and tables."

"ABSTRAK
Research on the community structure of earthworm has been carried out on the edge area of the Gunung Halimun National Park. This research emphasizes on the population of earthworm, density, association, and the environmental effect.
Three species of earthworm were found ; Allolobophora rosea, Pheretima javanica, and P. capensis , A. rosea belongs namely to Megascolecidae family, while both species of P. jacanica and P. capensis belongs to the Lumbricidae family.
P. javanica was well distributed and found five research locations ; Citalahap, Cisarua 1, Cisarua I , Legokheulang and Cipongkor. P. capensis was not found in Cisarua I while A. rosea was not found in Citalahap.
Population of these three species were Relatively high A. rosea (60591100m2), followed by P. javanica (1191 I. 100m2), and P. capensis (863 1 100m2). Distribution patterns of the earthworm at five locations seem to be clumped together into one species group. The association of the three species at five different locations were only found in Legokheulang; between P. javanica and P. capensis, and in Cipongkor between P. javanica and A. rosea.
Beside pH and humidity of soil, other environmental factors such as air temperature, ground surface temperature, air pressure, light intensity, and thickness of mulch affect the earthworm populations.
Observation on cocoa production showed that within 90 days, A. rosea produced three pea of cocon containing one egg as an embryo. This condition leds us to believe that A. rosea production is low, it means that this species is not commercially feasible. But, from the protein point of view that the content o1 A. rosea (38.63%) can be very useful as a source protein for animal chew, human food, and medicine."

Ternate Island is a volcanic island formed from the body of Mount Gamalama. The lithology of island is dominated by the volcanic products of the volcano eruption. However, no research has been done on the characterization of volcanic products and their sources. The study aims to identify the characteristics of pyroclastic deposits, processes, and eruption mechanisms at the time of the formation of pyroclastic deposits in the research area. The methods used in this study are Grain Size Distrubution (GSD) and component analysis. The results of the research resulted in data on the components of the pumice as many as seven types and the lithic as four types. The sedimentary mechanism that forms the pyroclastic deposits is a pyroclastic fall. There are at least three phases of the eruption that form the pyroclastic deposits, namely Mount Telaga's eruptive phase and two Phases of Mount Gamalama's Eruption characterized by the spread of components."

ABSTRACT
This textbook provides a modern, quantitative and process-oriented approach to equip students with the tools to understand geomorphology. Insight into the interpretation of landscapes is developed from basic principles and simple models, and by stepping through the equations that capture the essence of the mechanics and chemistry of landscapes. Boxed worked examples and real-world applications bring the subject to life for students, allowing them to apply the theory to their own experience. The book covers cutting edge topics, including the revolutionary cosmogenic nuclide dating methods and modeling, highlights links to other Earth sciences through up-to-date summaries of current research, and illustrates the importance of geomorphology in understanding environmental changes. Setting up problems as a conservation of mass, ice, soil, or heat, this book arms students with tools to fully explore processes, understand landscapes, and to participate in this rapidly evolving field.

Geotourism is tourism with a sustainable conservation concept that combines three natural diversities, i.e. geological, biological and cultural diversity. Dlingo and Playen areas, Bantul and Gunung Kidul Regencies are located within the Southern Mountains Zone with a landscape dominated by karst and volcanic hills that have good potential as geotourism destinations. This research uses field research methods in the form of geological mapping and feasibility assessment which includes scientific value, educational value, tourism value, and degradation risk value. The stratigraphy of the study area is composed of 4 units, namely the Early Miocene Tuff Unit, the Early-Middle Miocene Andesitic Breccia Unit, the Middle Miocene-Pliocene Limestone Unit, and the Quaternary Alluvial Deposits. The results of the feasibility assessment showed that of the 60 observation stations, there were 9 stations in the low category and 51 stations in the medium category. Then the 20 best stations were selected as recommendations for geological sites."
