Membangun stimulan baru dapat dilakukan dengan menambah elemen yang menstimulasi untuk mengaktifkan kognitif, mengarahkan, atau mempengaruhi afeksi manusia ......Contemporary city design as formulated by governments and planners tends to focus on visual order and ignore how a city can be perceived as multisensory (Degen & Rose, 2012). Following the era of modernism, one concept that prioritizes visuals was initiated by Nikolaus Pevsner in The Architectural Review magazine, namely the picturesque. This idea concerns how to design a city with visual beauty, akin to a painting. In 1961, however, this tendency for modern city planning to revolve around visuals was criticized by Jane Jacob, who deemed it inhuman. Various critics also emphasize the same point that visual-based design often neglects aspects that are not visible, such as the meaning, history, and function of the building itself (MacArthur, 2012). Seeing this gap, this research tries to enrich the science of urban design by exploring human sensory experiences through utilizing not only visuals, but also the other four senses. Departing from the theory of perception as put forward by Gibson in 1983, this research endeavors to understand how the mechanism of urban space works to affect multisensory human experiences and the directions in designing urban space based on these experiences. Taking place on the pedestrian path around Jatinegara Station, East Jakarta, this study observes that multisensory experience-based urban space design can be done by controlling stimulants or building new ones. The former can be accomplished by reconfiguring the space through adding elements that block, filter, reduce, or strengthen the stimulants, while the latter can be realized by adding stimulating elements to activate cognition or to direct or influence human affection.

......Agitation is one of the most frequently experienced by elderly with neuropsychiatric dementia. Avoidable behaviors from symptoms of agitation are aberrant vocalization, motor agitation, aggressiveness and behavior to refuse treatment. Common factors cause a decrease in cognitive function in aging processes, internal influences such as education, social life, and attitudes, physical and mental health, medicinal effect, and Environmental factors and smoking. Agitation management has prioritized giving antipsychotic agents that provide side effects for the elderly. This scientific work explains nursing care for the handling of nonfarmacotherapy agitation with Snoezelen multisensory therapy. Nursing care is given for 5 weeks with 14 therapy sessions. A significant effect on decreasing the effect of agitation. Long-term effects are less significant for clients with severe cognitive and mental damage.

......Accesibility for the visually impaired is achieved when their needs are met, which in the context of wayfinding system, they need design that accomodates them to navigate independently. In the urban context, the design of this system in public transportation spaces still seems to have many aspects that need to be improved in achieving inclusivity for this minority group. A survey involving disabled and nondisabled participants revealed the provision of information system in public spaces in Jakarta, Indonesia that is still considered ineffective thus difficulties in navigation are still experienced by many users, including individuals with visual impairments. This academic paper describes a study that focuses on how the elements of wayfinding system can accommodate the needs of these people with disabilities, which are analyzed based on their behavioural characteristics when navigating in public transportation spaces. By evaluating the wayfinding system in one of the Jakarta MRT stations, this study proves that design applications of navigational information system in Indonesia have not shown the inclusion of visually impaired needs in the whole scope. In the end, these findings recommend improvements and developments in the wayfinding system to be more inclusive therefore supports people with visual impairments to navigate independently in public transportation spaces.

Humans perceive their body posture, size, and position in space even when they do not look at their body. The ability to perceive the body correctly is essential to move accurately in space. The purpose of this review is to introduce the reader to the latest views on the role of peripheral afferent signals in the generation and alteration of perception of the body. First, the contribution of proprioceptive and cutaneous signals to perception of the body is introduced. Common methods to investigate these signals are muscle vibration, skin stretch, or electrical stimulation. These methods provide evidence that the perception of the body is flexible. Second, effects of multisensory integration on perception of the body are described. The combination of visual, tactile, proprioceptive, and auditory signals alter the perception of the body, suggesting that multiple sensory signals contribute to perception of the body. Third, the distortion of perception of the body after the loss of sensory signals is reviewed. Anesthesia or amputation of limbs, as well as experimentally-induced disintegration of sensory signals drastically alter the perception of the body. Fourth, neural mechanisms underlying the generation, or alteration, of perception of the body is described. The premotor and parietal cortices play a key role in perception of the body, as they are involved in multisensory integration. In the final section of the review, implications of the ways sensory information shapes perception of our body are discussed for athletic performance.

Effective behaviors optimized for various situations are enabled by various sensory information. Flow does the brain deal simultaneously with information from different sensory systems? Investigation of multisensory processing began from neuroanatomical and neurophys iological studies at the level of single neurons. Accumulation of knowledge concerning neurons and progress in recording techniques of human brain activity have led to a massive expansion in recent neuroscientific studies using various combinations of brain activity recording and cognitive tasks. In this paper, we briefly review recent neuroscientific studies related to multisensory convergence and interaction, focusing on electrophysiological and imaging studies in humans.

......An exhibition is a space that functions as a means of presenting objects to be communicated so that they can be appreciated by the public. Therefore, all members of the public, including the visually impaired, have the right to experience it as other visitors do. To receive information in an exhibition, inclusive design needs to be applied to the design of the media display. Mainly, for people who are blind, the media display in exhibitions needs to present stimulis other than visuals. From the participatory observation research conducted by Ann Heylighen & Jasmien Herssens (2014), based on the perspective of blind observers, architects still often design with only emphasizing the visual approach and less involving the multisensory richness of the environment. Meanwhile, blind people rely on their other senses to receive information from their environment. The purpose of this thesis is to figure out how the multisensory approach in media displays can accommodate blind visitors and provide insights into the cognitive abilities of the blind in capturing multisensory stimulis. The writing method is based on literature studies to study theory and case studies to identify and analyze media displays that apply the multisensory approach. The case study was conducted qualitatively through participatory observation of media displays in Taman Arca and IMAGI Space where it was found that there is a hierarchy of virtues in the delivery of multisensory stimulis to the blind.
