"ABSTRAK
Libanon adalah sebuah negara di Timur Tengah yang menerapkan pola patron-client dalam dinamika politik. Pola ini berjalan sejak jaman Usmani sampai pada masa pemerintahan Republik Libanon dan terns berjalan dalam memasuki abad ke-21. Di Libanon zaim (tokoh masyarakat) adalah sang patron, sementara masyarakat adalah para client. Kepemimpinan zaim (jamak: zuama') di Libman sangat dominan pada masa terbentuknya Republik Libanon pada tahun 1943, perang saudara dan pada pemilu parlementer. Ini menunjukkan bahwa pola patron-client yang feodal, dapat eksis pada sebuah negara dan masyarakat yang telah mengadopsi ideologi republik.
Metode yang diterapkan dalam penulisan tesis ini adalah metode studi kasus. Di mana tesis ini hanya menjelaskan pola patron-client di Libanon. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan melalui studi pustaka.
Pola patron-client dapat tetap berjalan di Libanon, karena pola ini adalah sebuah pola yang 'nail?. Pola patron-client dapat memasuki dan 'berasimilasi' dengan sistem republik. Zuama' juga dipandang sebagai pengikat sebuah komunitas, tidak hanya sekedar pemimpin komunitas. Sistem patriarchal yang telah membudaya di Libanon selama berabad-abad juga menjadi penyebab mengapa pola patron-client tetap berjalan di Libanon. Zuama' dipandang sebagai sang ayah dan provider, yang otoritasnya tidak dapat diganggu gugat oleh komunitas. Namun dengan berjalannya waktu, kekuasaan zuama' tergeser dengan naiknya pamor politisi-politisi non-zuama', khususnya dari warga Syiah. Hal ini dikarenakan zuama' tidak dapat memberikan sesuatu kepada komunitas, khususnya warga Syiah.

ABSTRACT
Lebanon is a country in the Middle East that's still use patron-client relationships in her political dynamics. Patron-client relationships in Lebanon have existed since the Ottoman time up to the present time. In Lebanon zuama' (community leaders) act as the patrons, while the clients are the rest of the populations. Zaim or zuama' (p1.) have been very dominant during the establishment of the republic in 1943, civil wars, and parliamentary elections. It shows that, even though patron-client system is feudal in nature, it has survived in a country which adopting republican system of government.
The method use for this thesis is a study case method. Since this thesis is concentrate in explaining patron-clients patterns in Lebanon. Researched for this thesis was done through library researches.
Patron-client patterns still exist in Lebanon because of its 'fluidity'. It can 'penetrate' and 'assimilate' with the republican system. As for the community, zuama' are seen as someone who holds the community together, not only as a mere leader. Patriarchal system in Lebanon, which had become a part of the local culture, had contributed to the existence of patron-clients patterns. Zaim is seen as the father and the provider of the community with unquestioned authority. However, as the time moves on, the authority of zuama' had been challenged by non-zuama' politicians, especially among the Shi'a community. These changes occur because some zuama' are unable to fulfill the needs of their communities.

"Skripsi ini membahas dominasi patriarki dalam transmedia novel ke game PC Ночной Дозор. Untuk membuktikan hipotesa, penulis menggunakan teori tranmedia dan dominasi patriarki dengan metode deskriptif-analitis. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk membuktikan bahwa dalam tranmedia novel ke game PC mengandung unsur-unsur dominasi patriarki terkait dengan budaya masyarakat Rusia. Hasil dari penelitian ini memperlihatkan bagaimana dominasi patriarki di Rusia.

This thesis is about patriarchal domination in transmedia novel to PC game Ночной Дозор. The theory were used in this thesis is transmedia and patriarchal domination with analysis-descriptive method. The aims is to proof in transmedia novel to PC game sustained patriarchal's elements, which have strong relation with Russian culture. Result of this thesis will show how's patriarchal domination in Russia."

"Tradisi ohaguro adalah tradisi seseorang menghitamkan gigi. Tradisi ini juga ditemukan di banyak negara Asia Tenggara, dan Jepang termasuk salah satu negara yang menjalankan tradisi ini sejak zaman Kofun(250-538). Pada akhir zaman Heian(794-1185), tradisi ohaguro mengalami perubahan fungsi yaitu dari fungsi praktis sebagai pengganti pasta gigi menjadi fungsi simbolik sebagai penanda bahwa seseorang telah menjadi dewasa dan memiliki tanggung jawab selayaknya orang dewasa. Memasuki zaman Edo (1603-1868), seiring dengan berkembangannya patriarki dalam ideologi Konfusianisme, tradisi ohaguro hanya dilakukan di kalangan perempuan bangsawan dengan tujuan semata-mata untuk memenuhi kepentingan dan kebutuhan laki-laki. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa tradisi ohaguro sebagai pratik patriarki pada perempuan bangsawan Zaman Edo, dengan menggunakan teori patriarki Sylvia Walby(1990) dan metode penelitian deskriptif analitis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tradisi ohaguro merupakan salah satu praktek patriarki dalam ideologi Konfusianisme, yang mengukuhkan kepentingan laki-laki dan memosisikan laki-laki sebagai pihak yang mendominasi, menindas, dan mengeksploitasi perempuan. Meminjam istilah Walby, hal ini disebut dengan patriarchal culture, yang menunjukkan bagaimana relasi patriarki dalam agama, sebagai salah satu lembaga budaya.

Ohaguro tradition is a tradition where people blackened their teeth. This tradition is also found in a lot of nations in South East Asia, and Japan is one of the nation which used this tradition since Kofun period(250-538). At the end of Heian period(794-1185), the ohaguro tradition undergo changes from a functional meaning that replaces toothpaste to symbolic meaning where it’s serves as a prove that people reached adulthood and have the same responsibilities as an adult. Entering the Edo period (1603-1868), with the growth of patriachy within Confucianism ideology, ohaguro tradition only used by female aristocrats with the sheer purpose of fulfilling interest and needs of the male. This research aim to analyze the ohaguro tradition as a practice of patriarchy within female aristocrats at Edo period, by using the patriarchy theory by Sylvia Walby(1990) and using descriptive analytics method. The result of the research shows that the ohaguro tradition is a form of patriarchy practice from Confucianism ideology, that strengthen male interest and positioning the male as a party that dominate, oppress, and exploit woman. Borrowing Walby’s term, this tradition can be defined as patriarchal culture, that shows the relation of patriarchy within religion, as a cultural constitution.

"ABSTRAK

Zaman modern adalah sebuah masa yang mempunyai semangat perubahan, kemajuan, revolusi, dan pertumbuhan, dimana para pemikir ekofeminis sepakat melihat semangat ini adalah produk dari peradaban patriarkal. Industri kapitalis menjadi sebuah konsentrasi besar ekofeminisme yang melihat bahwa eksploitasi tidak hanya diarahkan kepada alam, melainkan juga perempuan. Vandana Shiva menjelaskan bagaimana perempuan, terutama di India, merupakan subjek yang paling dekat dan intim dengan alam, sehingga pada saat konsep pembangunan menundukkan alam muncul juga diskriminasi dan penindasan terhadap perempuan. Dengan menjelaskan prakrti sebagai prinsip feminitas, Shiva berusaha untuk menunjukan bahwa alam dan perempuan merupakan produsen atau penghasil kehidupan, dimana perempuan menyelenggarakan kehidupan melalui peran sosialnya.


ABSTRACT

Modernism is an era that have enthusiasm to achieve something we called as progress, revolution, and development. But according to the ecofeminist, this kind of belief is a product from patriarchal culture which made gender-based ideology. Capitalism was the main concern to the ecofeminist who see it not only abused nature, but also women. Vandana Shiva explained how women, especially India‟s rural women, was an intimate part of nature, the only one that had a close relationship with nature. Thus, the capitalism would be the source of discrimination for both nature and women. With explained prakrti as a femininity principle, Vandana Shiva tried to show that nature and women as the producers of life, where women reproduce life not merely biologically, but also through their social role in providing sustenance.

Subordinasi perempuan adalah salah satu isu gender yang diperlihatkan melalui media, termasuk film. Karena masyarakat cenderung menerima film sebagai jenis media yang merepresentasikan realitas, dekonstruksi harus mengambil peran di sini. Dalam film Ruby Sparks, dekonstruksi berperan dengan cara membuat subordinasi perempuan yang dialami Ruby, tokoh perempuan utama, terlihat jelas terlebih dahulu. Dengan memperlihatkan secara jelas subordinasi tersebut, dekonstruksi pada film ini menunjukkan bahwa kontrol penuh terhadap perempuan, terutama dalam sebuah hubungan, tidak berdampak baik dan sebaliknya membuat baik pihak permpuan maupun laki-laki menderita. Namun, usaha dekonstruksi dalam film ini masih tercemari dengan nilai-nilai patriarki. Jurnal ini bertujuan untuk memperlihatkan dan menyediakan pembahasan mendalam mengenai mengapa subordinasi dalam film ini harus didekonstruksi dan mengapa dekonstruksi ini sendiri masih berisi nilai-nilai patriarki. Dengan menggunakan metode close-reading, jurnal ini menunjukkan bagaimana subordinasi perempuan dalam film Ruby Sparks membawa ke masalah-masalah yang lebih dalam yang berkaitan dengan gender, dan bahwa cara film ini mendekonstruksi subordinasi perempuan masih patriarkal.ABSTRACT Female subordination is one of gender issues which is frequently shown through media, including movies. Makalah ini meneliti tentang hubungan kekuasaan pada serial telvisi Lucifer 2015 - di mana seorang karakter wanitanya lebih kuat dibandingkan dengan karakter utamanya yaitu sang iblis itu sendiri. Serial ini menunjukkan masyarakat Kristiani dan patriarki di mana Lucifer berusaha keras untuk memahami konsep baik dan buruk yang dikarenakan oleh kehadiran karakter wanita tersebut, yang bernama Chloe, di hidupnya. Dengan menggunakan konsep kekuasaan milik Michel Foucault pada Gordon, 1980 dan karya Barbara Welter tentang penggambaran wanita di masyarakat Kristiani, dan dengan menganalisis dialog yang terdapat pada serial ini, makalah ini bertujuan untuk menemukan hubungan kekuasaan antara kedua karakter utama tersebut. Makalah ini mengutamakan alas an kenapa sang karakter wanita muncul sebagai karakter yang lebih superior, dan bagaimana hubungan tersebut membentuk cara pandang Lucifer mengenai kebaikan dan keburukan yang ada di dunia ini.

ABSTRACT
This paper examines power relations in television series Lucifer 2015 - in which one female character is more powerful than the main character which is the devil himself. The series depicts a patriarchal, Christian society, where Lucifer struggles to understand what is good and evil because of the existence of a female character rsquo;s existence, named Chloe, in his life. Using Michel Foucault rsquo;s concept of power in Gordon, 1980 and Barbara Welter rsquo;s work about the depiction of women in Christian society, and through the analysis of the dialogues in this series, this article aims to discover the power relation between the two main characters. The paper puts forwards the reason why the female is emerging as the superior one, and how this relationship shapes Lucifer rsquo;s perspective about good and evil in the world. "

"ABSTRACT
The main objectives of this study are to examine the patriarchal attitudes associated with marital adjustment of Korean husbands with foreign wives and to test the mediating effect of acculturation in the association between patriarchal attitudes and marital adjustment of Korean husbands. The study sample was collected by means of an anonymous questionnaire using a purposive sampling method, and the survey was conducted only with those who agreed to participate. The final sample comprised 203 Korean husbands with foreign wives in nine areas of the Gyeongnam Province, Chungnam Province, Daejeon City, and Sejong City. Hierarchical regression analyses and Sobel tests were employed to examine the associations among three variables and to corroborate the mediating effect of acculturation. The study results show that the level of marital adjustment of Korean husbands with foreign wives was slightly higher than the average. Birth countries of wives and education of both couples were significantly associated with the mean difference of marital adjustment of Korean husbands. The patriarchal attitudes of Korean husbands significantly decreased the level of marital adjustment of Korean husbands, whereas acculturation significantly increased its level. Meanwhile, the patriarchal attitudes of Korean husbands significantly decreased the level of marital adjustment. Acculturation had full or partial mediating effects in the association between patriarchal attitudes and sub dimensions of marital adjustment of Korean husbands. Policy and practice implications were discussed based on the study findings."

"Meskipun banyak karya sastra yang telah mendukung pemberdayaan perempuan atau interseksional feminisme, terdapat perbedaan pada representasi antara perempuan dengan perbedaan ras saat berurusan dengan patriarki dalam sastra Amerika Indian. Karakter wanita dalam novel Indian Winter in the Blood (1974) dan The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian (2007) selalu dibayangi oleh dominasi laki-laki. Tujuan dari artikel ini adalah untuk menganalisis karakterisasi kompleks pada karakter minor yang tampak tidak signifikan dari kedua kekasih perempuan dalam novel, yaitu seorang wanita suku Cree Agnes dan seorang gadis kulit putih Penelope, melalui analisis tekstual. Artikel ini mencoba mengidentifikasi negosiasi patriarkal kedua kekasih saat mengalami subordinasi, obyektifikasi, dan bentuk penindasan lainnya yang lebih bermasalah karena protagonis pria sedang mengalami krisis maskulinitas. Temuan awal pada artikel ini menunjukkan bahwa kedua kekasih dalam novel mungkin tidak memiliki kendali atas subordinasi dan pandangan obyektifitas seksual yang dialaminya; pada kenyataannya, mereka selalu berjuang melawan patriarki untuk mempertahankan kekuasaan dan keamanan mereka dengan negosiasi patriarkal sebagai strategi. Oleh karena itu, Agnes dan Penelope, yang memiliki perbedaan identitas ras, kelas, dan usia, menunjukkan pemberdayaan dengan bernegosiasi dengan patriarki dalam mekanisme yang berbeda.

Although many literature works have already supported women empowerment or intersectional feminism, there is a big disparity of representations between women with different races while dealing with patriarchy in Native American literature. Female characters in Native American novels Winter in the Blood (1974) and The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian (2007) have been overshadowed due to male domination. The purpose of this article is to analyze the complex characterization of the seemingly insignificant minor characters of the girlfriends in both novels, who are a Cree woman Agnes and a white girl Penelope, through a textual analysis. This article attempts to identify the two girlfriends` patriarchal bargains while experiencing subordination, objectification, and other forms of oppression which are more problematic since the male protagonists are going through masculinity crisis. The preliminary finding on this article suggests that the girlfriends of the two novels may have no control over the subordination and sexual objectifying gaze; in fact, they always have fought patriarchy in order to maintain their power and safety by patriarchal bargains as the strategy. Therefore, Agnes and Penelope, who have differences in terms of race, class, and age, show empowerment by negotiating with patriarchy in different mechanisms."
