"With Baby Boomer women spending well over a trillion dollars a year on goods and
services, the days of women 40+ being ignored by marketers are numbered.
Overthrowing stereotypes of aging, the groundswell of awareness is no less than a
marketing revolution."

"For years, marketers have held on to unwavering beliefs that have dictated how they market to their consumers. But the hard truth is that the changes we see in marketing and business are based on one undeniable factor--the size of the generations we are selling to. As each generation ages, what they buy and how much they buy will change. Each product and service has a "best customer" that sustains a business."

Baby Boom is a situation that fertility rate of a country growing rapidly in a very short time. Commonly, Baby Boom existed in a few of developed countries, such as Japan. Baby Boom in Japan was happened at Post-World War II. Beside war, other factor that Baby Boomer could happen was a bomb that had been dropped to Hiroshima and Nagasaki. At that time, population in Japan was in dangerous situation, so the government ordered to his citizen to increase the fertility rate. The decision that the government had been made was succeed, and step by step, Japan back to normal and also, economic sector had been developed in a good way because there are so many of young workers. However, this decision did not long last, citizen that was born in Baby Boom?s period was already in their pension time and they did it in mass. This thing become the country?s problem. The increasing of elderly, decreasing of young workers and expensive tax and pension fund are main factor that the government and young workers have to face and also bring Japan to the verge of collapse

"This volume provides a good illustration of the sorts of insights that qualitative and conceptual analysis can provide. Using some of the latest qualitative research tools, this volume highlights insights about consumption ranging from how consumers process advertising messages, how skiers consume a ski resort, and how small retailers can combat the practice of "showrooming" by consumers comparing online prices with mobile devices to the nature of consumer "presence, rethinking the meanings of prices, and buying counterfeit luxuries with friends. These and other practices provide eye-opening insights of their own. But they also spark the imagination by demonstrating what qualitative research can do and why it is an increasingly popular set of techniques."
