ABSTRACT

"Sensory perception: mind and matter aims at a deeper understanding of the many facets of sensory perception and their relations to brain function and cognition. It is an attempt to promote the interdisciplinary discourse between the neurosciences and psychology, which speaks the language of cognitive experiences, and philosophy, which has been thinking about the meaning and origin of consciousness since its beginning. Leading experts contribute to such a discourse by informing the reader about exciting modern developments, both technical and conceptual, and by pointing to the big gaps still to be bridged. The various chapters provide access to scientific research on sensory perception and the mind from a broad perspective, covering a large spectrum of topics which range from the molecular mechanisms at work in sensory cells to the study of the unconscious and to neurophilosophy."

This study aims to look at the effect of emotion regulation ability on mental-emotional problems in first-year students at University Indonesia. Non-experimental and crosssectional research design were used. Participants (N = 255) were Universitas Indonesia students from class 2019 aged between 17-21 (M = 18.29, SD = 0.743) and mostly women (n = 147). The emotional regulation ability was measured using the Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale (DERS), while the students' mental-emotional problems were measured using the SRQ-20. Results of the logistic regression showed that emotion regulation ability significantly influenced students' mental-emotional problems based on the Wald test criterion, χ2 (1, N = 255) = 51.435, OR = 1.098, p <0.001. Decreased emotional regulation ability increases the likelihood of experiencing mentalemotional problems by as much as 1.1 times greater. Moreover, gender as a control variable also significantly influenced students' mental-emotional problems, χ2 (1, N = 255) = 4.665, OR = 1.922, p <0.05. Women had a higher risk of experiencing mentalemotional problems than men."

Emotions or human feelings are one of the factors that cannot be controlled in any activity. There are also many jobs that are often related to human emotions, especially in the entertainment and health industries. The development of speech emotion recognition models in Indonesian is still very little and therefore a specific comparison is needed in this study between two classifier models, namely Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) and Multilayer Perceptron (MLP) to determine the model that produces the best accuracy in predicting the emotion of the human voice.
In speech recognition in general, one of the important factors in acquiring a model with the best accuracy is the feature extraction method. Therefore, this study uses 3 features to train the model, namely Mel-frequency Cepstral Coefficients (MFCC), Mel-Spectrogram and chroma. From these 3 features, they were varied and resulted in 7 different extraction methods to be used as model training inputs.
Finally, to ensure that the model has used the best parameters, an experiment was conducted by comparing models using different batch sizes and activation functions. It was found that using CNN and the combined features of MFCC, mel-spectrogram and also chroma resulted in a model with an accuracy score of 50.6% while using MLP with the same features resulted in a model with an accuracy score of 58.47%.

This study aimed to find out whether maternal attachment effects anger regulation in adolescents. Adolescents in this study were referred to them who are in the age of 16-21 years old and live around the Jabodetabek area. It was also important to note that adolescents who become participants also have mother(s) or caregiver(s) as the attachment figures. The instrument used to measure the maternal attachment in this study was Mother Attachment Sub-Scale of the Inventory of Parent and Peer Attachment Revisited (IPPA-R) created by Armsden and Greenberg (2009) that has already been adapted in the previous study by Annisa Binarti (2012). Meanwhile, the instrument used to measure anger regulation in this study was Anger Management Scale Short Forms Version (AMS-20) created by Stith and Hamby (2002). By using a total of 287 adolescent participants, the results of this study indicated that there is a significant positive effect of maternal attachment towards anger regulation in adolescents (R2 = .046, F = 6.138, p < .01). That is, the higher the maternal attachment?s score, the more effect it gives to anger regulation. In addition, this study also found that alienation gives the most effect towards anger regulation"

This research addresses the issue of emotion recognition in Indonesian language conversations, which is crucial for applications such as speech recognition, humanmachine interaction, and sentiment analysis. To tackle the complexity of voice and text data, this study combines Word Embedding (Word2Vec) and sound spectrum analysis (MFCC) using Convolutional Neural Network (CNN). Word2Vec is used to convert voice datasets into vector text representations, while MFCC is employed for feature extraction from the sound spectrum. The developed models were evaluated using an experimental dataset in Indonesian, and the Weighted Average Ensemble approach, which integrates both methods, achieved an accuracy of 70%. These results indicate that integrating Word Embedding technology and sound spectrum analysis can significantly enhance the accuracy of emotion recognition in Indonesian conversations.
