"Menemukan tujuan hidup merupakan salah satu tugas perkembangan emerging adult usia 18-29 tahun. Salah satu cara untuk menemukannya adalah dengan mengikuti kegiatan relawan. Akan tetapi, manfaat yang dirasakan dari kegiatan relawan bergantung pada motivasi yang mereka miliki. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat hubungan antara motivasi kerelawanan dan tujuan hidup pada relawan Indonesia usia 18-29 tahun emerging adulthood. Sebanyak 2007 relawan mengisi alat ukur Volunteer Function Inventory VFI untuk mengukur motivasi relawan dan Brief Purpose Measure BPM untuk mengukur tujuan hidup. Keduanya telah diadaptasi ke dalam Bahasa Indonesia. Hasil analisis menggunakan partial correlation menunjukkan bahwa hanya empat dari enam dimensi motivasi yang berhubungan signifikan dengan penetapan tujuan hidup. Motivasi nilai, motivasi pemahaman dan motivasi sosial berhubungan signifikan secara positif dengan tujuan hidup.

Finding a life purpose is a task of emerging adult. One of the ways to find it is through volunteering. However, a person 39s reasons for volunteering vary. This research aims to determine the relationship between volunteering motivations with life purpose in Indonesian volunteers aged 18 29 emerging adulthood . As many as 2007 volunteers filled out the Volunteer Function Inventory VFI to measure volunteer motivations and Brief Purpose Measure BPM to measure life purpose. Both instruments had ben adapted into Indonesian. The analysis results, conducted using partial correlation, shows that only four out of five motivation dimensions correlate significantly with life purpose. Value motivation, understanding motivation, and social motivation all have significant positive correlations with life purpose."

"Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana hubungan antara motivasi kerelawanan dan kepribadian narsisistik pada relawan di Indonesia yang berusia 18-29 tahun emerging adulthood. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian korelasional dengan responden relawan yang berjumlah 2002 responden. Motivasi kerelawanan diukur dengan menggunakan Volunteer Function Inventory VFI, dan kepribadian narsisistik diukur dengan menggunakan Narcissism Personality Inventory NPI-13, kedua instrumen tersebut telah diadaptasi ke dalam Bahasa Indonesia. Pada motivasi kerelawanan, terdapat enam dimensi motivasi kerelawanan, yaitu nilai, karir, sosial, pemahaman, peningkatan harga diri, dan protektif. Pada kepribadian narsisistik, terdapat tiga dimensi kepribadian narsisistik, yaitu leadership/authority, grandiose exhibitionism, dan entitlement/exploitativeness. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 1 terdapat hubungan yang negatif dan signifikan antara motivasi nilai dengan kepribadian narsisistik grandiose exhibitionism, 2 terdapat hubungan yang positif dan signifikan antara motivasi karir dengan ketiga kepribadian narsisistik leadership/authority, grandiose exhibitionism, dan entitlement/exploitativeness, 3 terdapat hubungan yang negatif dan signifikan antara motivasi sosial dengan kepribadian narsisistik entitlement/exploitativeness, 4 terdapat hubungan yang negatif dan signifikan antara motivasi pemahaman dengan kepribadian narsisistik leadership/authority dan entitlement/exploitativeness, 5 terdapat hubungan positif dan signifikan antara motivasi kerelawanan peningkatan harga diri dengan kepribadian narsisistik leadership/authority dan entitlement/exploitativeness, 6 terdapat hubungan positif dan signifikan antara motivasi protektif dengan kepribadian narsisistik entitlement/exploitativeness.

The purpose of this research is to examine the correlation between volunteering motivation and narcissistic personality among volunteer in Indonesia within age of 18 29 years old emerging adulthood. This research uses correlational method with 2002. Volunteering motivation was measured by Volunteer Function Inventory VFI and narcissistic personality was measured by Narcissism Personality Inventory NPI 13, both have been adapted to Bahasa Indonesia. Volunteering motivation consist of six dimensions which are values, career, social, understanding, enhancement, and protective. Narcissistic personality consists of three dimensions which are Leadership Authority, Grandiose Exhibitionism, and Entitlement Exploitativeness. The result indicated 1 there was significant negative correlation between value motivation and grandiose exhibitionism personality, 2 there was significant positive correlation between career motivation and three of the narcissistic personality leadership authority, grandiose exhibitionism, and entitlement exploitativeness, 3 there was significant negative correlation between social motivation and entitlement exploitativeness personality, 4 there was significant negative correlation between understanding motivation and two of the narcissistic personality, which are leadership authority and entitlement exploitativeness, 5 there was significant positive correlation between enhancement motivation and two of the narcissism personality, which are leadership authority and entitlement exploitativeness, 6 there was significant positive correlation between protective motivation and entitlement exploitativeness personality."

"Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat bagaimana hubungan antara motivasi kerelawanan dan distres psikologis pada relawan usia 18-29 tahun emerging adulthood. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian korelasional dengan responden relawan yang berjumlah 909 orang dengan jenis kegiatan kerelawanan yang berbeda-beda. Motivasi kerelawanan diukur dengan menggunakan Volunteer Functions Inventory VFI, dan distres psikologis diukur dengan menggunakan Hopkins Symptom Checklist-25 HSCL-25, kedua instrumen tersebut telah diadaptasi ke dalam bahasa Indonesia. Terdapat enam dimensi motivasi kerelawanan yaitu perlindungan, nilai, karir, sosial, pemahaman, dan pengembangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan signifikan dan positif antara motivasi kerelawanan dimensi perlindungan dan distres psikologis. Sementara itu, tidak terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara dimensi nilai, sosial, karir, pemahaman, dan pengembangan dengan distres psikologis.

The purpose of this research is to examine the correlation between volunteering motivation and psychological distress among volunteer with age 18 29 years old emerging adulthood. This research uses correlational method with 909 respondents that have participated in various volunteering activity. Volunteering motivation was measured by Volunteer Functions Inventory VFI, and psychological distress was measured by Hopkins Symptom Checklist 25 HSCL 25, both have been adapted into Indonesian. Volunteering motivation consist of six dimensions, protective, values, career, social, understanding, and enhancement. Result shows that there was significant positive correlation between one dimensions of volunteering motivation protective with psychological distress. There was not significant correlation between five dimension of volunteering motivation values, social, career, understanding, enhancement and psychological distress."

"Mengetahui pentingnya mempertahankan hubungan penuh rasa percaya antar sesama, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat hubungan antara motivasi kerelawanan dan kepercayaan interpersonal. Metode penelitian yang dipakai adalah korelasional dan partisipan dalam penelitian ini merupakan relawan yang berasal dari kalangan usia emerging adulthood yaitu 18 s.d. 29 tahun yang berjumlah 1334 orang dari berbagai kota di Indonesia. Kepercayaan interpersonal diukur dengan menggunakan alat ukur Propensity to Trust Scale yang dikembangkan oleh Evans dan Revelle 2008 , sementara itu motivasi kerelawanan diukur dengan Volunteer Functions Inventory yang dikembangkan oleh Clary, Snyder, Ridge, Copeland, Stukas, Haugen, dan Miene 1998.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tiga dari enam dimensi motivasi kerelawanan mdash;values, social, dan understanding mdash;berhubungan positif dan signifikan terhadap kepercayaan interpersonal, sedangkan dimensi protective berhubungan negatif dan signifikan terhadap kepercayaan interpersonal. Hasil analisis lebih lanjut juga menunjukkan adanya pengaruh motivasi kerelawanan pada keenam dimensi motivasi kerelawanan, terutama pada dimensi values dan understanding. Kedua dimensi tersebut berpengaruh lebih kuat terhadap kepercayaan interpersonal dibandingkan dengan keempat dimensi motivasi kerelawanan lainnya; yaitu protective, career, social, dan enhancement.

Given the importance of maintaining trustful relationship, the goal of the present research was to determine whether volunteer motivations correlate with interpersonal trust. A correlational design was employed and measures were obtained from 1334 volunteers from various cities in Indonesia. Interpersonal trust was measured using Propensity to Trust Scale by Evans and Revelle 2008 , while volunteer motivations were measured using Volunteer Functions Inventory by Clary, Snyder, Ridge, Copeland, Stukas, Haugen, and Miene 1998.
The results demonstrated that three of six designated dimensions of volunteer motivations mdash values, social, and understanding mdash were positively correlated with interpersonal trust while the other dimension namely protective was found negatively correlated with interpersonal trust. Advanced analysis also determined that six designated dimensions of volunteer motivations have influence on interpersonal trust, especially values and understanding. Both dimensions have stronger influences towards interpersonal trust compared to the other dimensions they are protective, career, social, and enhancement.

"Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat hubungan antara motivasi kerelawanan dan generalized self-efficacy pada relawan Indonesia tahapan perkembangan emerging adult. Partisipan penelitian adalah 1954 orang warga negara Indonesia yang sedang atau pernah mengikuti kegiatan kerelawanan dan berada dalam rentang usia 18-29 tahun. Motivasi kerelawanan diukur menggunakan alat ukur Volunteer Functions Inventory VFI yang terdiri dari 6 enam dimensi dan generalized self-efficacy diukur menggunakan New General Self-Efficacy Scale. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan negatif antara generalized self-efficacy dengan dimensi protective motives r= - 0,01; p>0,05, hubungan positif dengan dimensi social r=0,04, p>0,05, dan dimensi enhancement r=0,06; p=0,05 serta hubungan positif signifikan dengan dimensi values r=0,12.

This study seeks to examine the relationship between volunteer motivation and generalized self efficacy in Indonesian emerging adult volunteers. Participants of this study are 1954 Indonesian citizens who are or have been involved in volunteering activities and within the age range of 18 29 years. Six dimensional Volunteer Functions Inventory VFI is used to measure volunteering motivation and generalized self efficacy was measured using the New General Self Efficacy Scale. The result of this study shows that there is a negative correlation between generalized self efficacy and protective motives r 0,01 p 0,05, positive correlations between social motives r 0,04, p 0,05 and enhancement motives r 0,06 p 0,05 and significant positive correlations between values motives r 0,12."

"Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mendapatkan gambaran mengenai hubungan antara self-esteem dan motivasi relawan dengan kecenderungan kodependensi pada relawan bencana yang berusia 20-40 tahun. Peneliti menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan mengukur variabel kodependensi menggunakan composite codependency scale berdasarkan adaptasi dari penelitian Priscarani (2014), dan mengukur variabel motivasi relawan menggunakan volunteer function inventory yang telah diadaptasi oleh Kurniasih (2004), sedangkan variabel self-esteem menggunakan Rosenberg self-esteem scale yang digunakan pada penelitian Sanyoto (2014). Responden pada penelitian ini berjumlah 87 orang relawan bencana yang pernah turun ke lokasi bencana. Pengumpulan sampel menggunakan metode snowball sampling.
Hasil utama penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara motivasi relawan dan self-esteem dengan kecenderungan kodependensi. Hasil dari dimensi motivasi relawan yang mempengaruhi kodependesi secara signifikan adalah motivasi relawan sosial dan motivasi relawan protektif. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan semakin tinggi motivasi relawan sosial dan motivasi relawan protektif disertai semakin rendahnya self-esteem, maka semakin tinggi tingkat kecenderungan kodepedensi relawan bencana. Motivasi relawan protektif yang tinggi artinya relawan bergabung dalam kegiatan kerelawanan untuk menghilangkan rasa bersalah dan sebagai tempat "pelarian" dari masalahnya, sedangkan motivasi relawan sosial yang tinggi artinya relawan bergabung menjadi relawan untuk menghindari kesepian dan tekanan dari lingkungannya untuk bergabung menjadi relawan. Saran praktis dari penelitian ini adalah bagi organisasi relawan untuk melakukan screening self-esteem dan motivasi relawan untuk menghindari resiko dari kodependensi.

This study was carried out to get an overview of the relationship between self-esteem and motivation of volunteers with codependency tendencies among disaster volunteers aged 20-40 years. Researchers used quantitative approach, to measure codependency variable using composite codependency scale based on an adaptation of Priscarani (2014) research, and measured the volunteers motivation using volunteer function inventory that has been adapted by Kurniasih (2004), while the self-esteem variable measured using the Rosenberg self-esteem scale that had been used in research Sanyoto (2014). Respondents in this study are 87 disaster volunteers who participate to the disaster site. Sample method using snowball sampling.
The main results of this study indicate that there is a significant relationship between motivation and self-esteem volunteers with codependency tendencies. Results of dimensions that influence the motivation of volunteers significantly to codependency tendencies is a social volunteer motivation and protective volunteer motivation. These results showed the higher the social volunteer motivation and protective volunteer motivation and lower self-esteem, the higher the level of disaster volunteers codependency tendency. High protective Volunteer motivation means volunteers join in volunteer activities to eliminate the guilt and as an escape from problem, while the high social volunteer motivation means volunteers joined the volunteer to avoid loneliness and because of pressure from the environment to join a volunteer. Practical suggestions of this research is for volunteer organizations to conduct screening of self-esteem and motivation of volunteers to avoid the risk of codependency.
