"Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh anime sebagai soft power Jepang melalui strategi diplomasi kebudayaan terhadap para fans anime dikalangan remaja khususnya siswa SMA dalam mengkonsumsi produk Jepang. Teknik pengumpulan penelitian ini dengan metode kuantitatif dari hasil survey kepada fans anime siswa SMA/sederajat yang terdiri dari 8 SMA/sederajat di wilayah Jakarta Selatan dan Jakarta Timur. Berdasarkan hasil data, bahwa anime memberikan pengaruh kepada penggemarnya dalam mengkonsumsi produk Jepang seperti merchandise, makanan dan minuman Jepang. Selain itu, anime dapat membantu pemerintah Jepang dalam menumbuhkan minat para penggemarnya untuk bekerja di Jepang dalam menghadapi permasalahan nasionalnya yaitu krisis tenaga kerja.

This study aims to analyze the influence of soft power; anime on anime fans among senior high school students to consume Japanese products, and work in Japan through cultural diplomacy strategy. This study uses a quantitative method with a survey conducted to anime fans who are members of Japanese community at school, which consists of 8 senior high schools in the South and East Jakarta. The results of this study found that anime as Japanese soft power influenced anime fans to consume Japanese products such as merchandise, Japanese food, and drinks. Other than that, anime can attract anime fans to working in Japan, which is helping the Japanese government in dealing with a lack of labor in Japan."

Karya tulis ini membahas hubungan Jepang dengan dunia internasional melalui International Drama Festival
in Tokyo. Penulis memilih acara ini untuk diteliti karena serangkaian acara yang termasuk di dalamnya
termasuk ke dalam bentuk diplomasi kebudayaan, yang dilakukan dengan pendekatan yang berbeda pada setiap
acaranya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mencari tahu bagaimana Jepang melakukan diplomasi kebudayaan
melalui beberapa rangkaian acara yang ada dalam International Drama Festival in Tokyo. Selain itu, juga untuk
mengetahui karakteristik diplomasi kebudayaan Jepang dan apakah International Drama Festival in Tokyo
mewakili karakteristik tersebut. Serta faktor apa yang menyebabkan penyebaran nilai secara tidak kentara dapat
dilakukan Jepang melalui drama produksinya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metodologi penelitian kualitatif,
dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa studi dokumen, baik dari sumber primer maupun sekunder. Hasil
penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Jepang melakukan diplomasi kebudayaan melalui serangkaian acara di
International Drama Festival in Tokyo dengan cara kompetisi, eksibisi, dan penetrasi. International Drama
Festival in Tokyo juga mewakili karakteristik diplomasi Jepang, sehingga merupakan media yang tepat untuk
memasukkan nilai-nilai yang ada pada Jepang ke dunia internasional demi mencapai kepentingan nasionalnya

"Sebagai negara adidaya dalam bidang kebudayaan, diplomasi budaya merupakan sebuah isu yang sangat penting bagi Indonesia dan ditunjukan oleh meningkatnya frekuensi diplomasi budaya yang dilakukan oleh tokoh-tokoh politik dalam beberapa tahun belakangan. Tugas Akhir ini menganalisis pidato Bacharuddin Jusuf Habibie di tahun 2014 yang memiliki beberapa karakteristik dan dapat dianggap sebagai sebuah bentuk diplomasi budaya. Pidato ini diberikan di Amerika Serikat dan ditonton oleh akademisi serta pemerhati asing proses berlangsungnya demokrasi Indonesia. Tugas Akhir yang menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif ini menganalisis video B.J. Habibie yang di terbitkan pada 2016 melalui perspektif linguistik, tepatnya melalui analisis wacana kritis terhadap pidato yang diberikan untuk menganalisis kualitas diplomasi budaya dalam pidato tersebut. Tugas Akhir ini menganalisis pidato tersebut dengan menggunakan kerangka berpikir analisis wacana kritis dan pedoman diplomasi budaya yang diterbitkan oleh Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Republik Indonesia pada tahun 2018. Meskipun pidato tersebut tidak pernah ditulis dengan tujuan untuk mendiplomasikan kebudayaan indonesia, analisis melalui kedua kerangka berpikir tersebut telah menemukan bahwa B.J. Habibie telah berhasil mendiplomasikan budaya Indonesia melalui pidato tersebut. Namun, bentuk diplomasi budaya yang dilakukan oleh B.J. Habibie cenderung berbeda dengan yang dijelaskan oleh pedoman diplomasi budaya Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan RI, sehingga perlu adanya revisi terhadap panduan tersebut.

As the world’s culture superpower, cultural diplomacy is an important issue to Indonesia which was noted by the frequency of cultural diplomacy done by Indonesian political figures in recent years. This paper analyzes Bacharuddin Jusuf Habibie’s speech in 2014 in the United States to foreign scholars observing the process and system of Indonesian democracy. The aim of this paper is to analyze the quality of the speech’s cultural diplomacy and identifying the Indonesian cultural diplomacy speech model by Mr. Habibie. This descriptive qualitative method paper examined Mr. Habibie’s speech video, which was published in 2016, through the perspective of linguistics. Specifically, this paper analyzed the speech through a critical discourse analysis (CDA) framework and the cultural diplomacy guide that is published by the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs in 2018. Although the speech was never explicitly intentioned as a speech to promote Indonesian culture, this paper founds that Mr. Habibie has done the action of cultural diplomacy through this specific speech. However, Mr. Habibie’s cultural diplomacy is found to be different from the Indonesia’s Ministry of Education and Cultural affairs’ cultural diplomacy guide which prompted the need to have a re-examination and re-construction of the guide.

"ABSTRAK
Setelah melewati berbagai krisis, mulai dari kekalahan pada Perang Dunia II hingga krisis ekonomi, saat ini dapat dikatakan Jepang merupakan salah satu negara yang memiliki pengaruh cukup kuat di dunia, terutama di Asia. Hal ini berkaitan dengan produk-produk budaya populer Jepang seperti anime, manga, kuliner hingga fashion yang saat ini menjadi soft power Jepang. Dari produk-produk budaya tersebut kemudian Jepang menyusun sebuah strategi/kebijakan Cool Japan yang digunakan sebagai alat diplomasi budaya. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, tugas akhir ini akan membahas mengenai bagaimana pengaruh yang muncul dari kebijakan Cool Japan. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif menggunakan analisis dokumen dan studi literasi. Analisis akan dilakukan dengan menggunakan teori soft power dari Joseph S. Nye dengan memfokuskan pada konsep diplomasi budaya. Konsep diplomasi budaya yang digunakan untuk menganalisis tujuan, bentuk hingga sarana diplomasi budaya yang digunakan oleh Jepang. Berdasarkan data serta analisis yang dilakukan, diplomasi budaya yang digunakan memiliki dampak yang sangat signifikan bagi perkembangan Jepang dalam berbagai sektor seperti pariwisata dan juga memberikan citra yang baik bagi negara Jepang.

ABSTRACT
After suffered from many crisis situations before, from the defeat in World War II, until the crisis economy, now Japan has become one of the countries that has a strong influence in the world, especially in Asia. This is related to Japanese popular culture such as anime, manga, culinary, until fashion which currently has become a Japans soft power. From these cultural products, Japan developed a Cool Japan strategy / policy that was used as a tool for cultural diplomacy. Based on that issues, this final project will discuss how the influence that emerged from Cool Japan policy. The study used qualitative methods using document analysis and literacy studies. The analysis will be carried out using the soft power theory of Joseph S. Nye by focusing on the concept of cultural diplomacy. The concept of cultural diplomacy is used to analyze the purpose, form, and cultural diplomacy tools that Japan used. Based on data and results of analysis, cultural diplomacy that has been used, has a very significant impact on Japans development in various sectors such as tourism and also provides a good image for Japan."

"International cultural relations have become an important tool for western advanced industrialized countries in carying out their foreign policies.Conducting cultural programs,including educational activities abroad , has helped these countries to maintain their political and economic hegemony over cultural relations, their main aim is similar,to develop abroad positive images of their national in pursuit of international co-operation and strategic and economic benefit for the sending nation .Japan is new to its present position in the world community.It is also a relative new-comer to recognizing the benefits of extensive cultural diplomacy those western powerful countries such as the US,Great Britain france and germany have pursued for many decades.Thus,it was pursuit of Japan's national interest, not pure altruism and interest in culture that motivated Japan to follow these precedent set by western countries with a policy on cultural diplomacy.In this study I argue that the that the Japanese government has pursued and still does pursue,cultural relations with neigbour seeking foremost political and economic benefit fo for Japan benefit foe other are a secondary concern."

"Di era globalisasi ini, peranan Tiongkok di dunia internasional semakin diperhitungkan. Selain muncul dengan kekuatan ekonominya, Tiongkok juga memanfaatkan kekuatan budayanya untuk mengadakan pendekatan dengan negaranegara lain. Pendekatan yang dikenal sebagai diplomasi kebudayaan ini selain dilakukan secara langsung, juga dapat melalui berbagai media sebagai perantaranya. Salah satu media yang dimanfaatkan oleh pemerintah RRT untuk melakukan diplomasi kebudayaan terhadap Indonesia adalah melalui media radio. Pada 2010, radio resmi pemerintah RRT, China Radio International CRI atau Zhongguo Guoji Guangbo Diantai bekerja sama dengan radio swasta Elshinta 90 FM untuk menyiarkan beragam topik dalam dimensi budaya, ekonomi, sosial, politik.
Siaran yang ditujukan untuk audiens Indonesia tersebut dibawakan dalam bahasa Indonesia, dan di antaranya membahas aspek-aspek terkait hubungan Tiongkok-Indonesia. Pengamatan terhadap siaran CRI program 'Lentera' periode 2011-2013 menghasilkan pemetaan 164 seratus enam puluh empat topik siaran. Setelah melakukan kategorisasi dan seleksi topik, kajian ini melakukan analisis intertekstual terhadap kata-kata kunci, konteks, tujuan eksplisit, kepentingan, konektor audiens dari siaran-siaran terseleksi tersebut. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, kajian ini menemukan strategi-strategi diplomasi kebudayaan yang dijalankan RRT untuk audiens Indonesia melalui media radio CRI.

In this era of globalization, the role of China in the international world is increasingly significant. Beside its economic power, China is also using its cultural strength to make approaches with other countries. This approach, known as cultural diplomacy, that not only done directly, but also through various media as its intermediary. One of the media used by PRC government to do cultural diplomacy to Indonesia is throughbroadcast media. In 2010, China Radio International CRI or Zhongguo Guoji Guangbo Diantai was collaborating with Elshinta 90 FM private radio to broadcast a variety of topics in cultural, economic, social, political dimensions.
The broadcasts that aimed for Indonesian audiences were in Indonesian, with topics that were related to the China Indonesia relationship. Observations of the 2011 2013 CRI program's called Lentera had resulted mappings of 164 one hundred and sixty four broadcast topics. After categorizing and selecting those topics, this study performs an intertextual analysis of key words, contexts, explicit objectives, audience connectors of the selected broadcasts. Based on the results of the analysis, this study finds cultural diplomacy strategies that China conducts for Indonesian audience through CRI.

"Keberhasilan Amerika Serikat menjalankan diplomasi jazz sebagai diplomasi budaya pada era Perang Dingin lalu telah menginspirasi U.S. State Department untuk mengulangi hal yang sama sekarang. Oleh karena itu, sejak tahun 2006 Amerika Serikat telah menjalankan diplomasi hip hopnya ke negaranegara di dunia. Hip hop dipilih selain karena perkembangannya yang begitu pesatnya, juga kedekatannya dengan anak-anak muda. Diharapkan hip hop dapat membantu misi diplomasi budaya Amerika Serikat yaitu memperbaiki image dan menyebarkan values-nya di dunia. Penelitian ini mencoba mengevaluasi karakteristik hip hop dengan karakteristik diplomasi budaya Amerika Serikat untuk menjawab pertanyaan ?Mengapa Amerika Serikat memilih hip hop sebagai diplomasi budayanya.

The United States success in implementing Jazz Diplomacy as cultural diplomacy during the Cold War era had inspired the U.S. State Department to implement the same policy. Thus, since 2006, the U.S. had been implementing hip hop diplomacy as part of its foreign policies. Hip hop was chosen not only for its rapid development but also for its close connection with young generation. This hip hop diplomacy is expected to help the U.S. cultural diplomacy mission to improve its image around the world and spread its values among foreign audiences. This research is trying to help to asses hip hop characteristics compared to other US cultural diplomacy characteristics in order to answer the research question. Why does the U.S. choose hip hop as its cultural diplomacy initiatives?"

"Penelitian ini berfokus pada kebijakan domestik yang diterapkan Jepang untuk persiapan pelaksanaan Olimpiade Tokyo 1964, yaitu Sport Promotion Act, Tokyo Olympic Education, dan Nation Beautifying Movement. Kebijakan domestik ini bertujuan untuk membentuk perilaku masyarakat Jepang yang sesuai dengan standar internasional. Bagi penulis, hal ini berhubungan dengan upaya pencapaian tujuan diplomasi kebudayaan Jepang pasca Perang Dunia II. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menganalisis bagaimana Jepang menggunakan Olimpiade sebagai sebuah alat untuk mencapai tujuan diplomasi kebudayaannya.
Tesis ini menggunakan metode kualitatif, dengan penggunaan data primer dari laporan-laporan resmi dari kementerian-kementerian Jepang. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa Jepang memanfaatkan Olimpiade untuk mendidik rakyatnya agar berperilaku sesuai dengan standar-standar internasional dan memberikan citra positif bagi Jepang setelah kekalahannya di Perang Dunia II.

This study focuses on Japan's domestic policies regarding the preparation of Tokyo Olympics 1964 such as: Sport Promotion Act, Tokyo Olympic Education, and Nation Beautifying Movement. These policies aimed to mold the Japanese behavior accordant to international standards. These efforts are considered as attempts to achieve Japan?s cultural diplomacy post World War II. The purpose of this study is to analyze how Japan use Olympics as a tool to achieve its cultural diplomacy.
This study used qualitative method with primary data such as reports and guidebooks issued by Japan ministries. This study shows that Japan utilized Olympics to educate the citizens to behave accordant to international standards and also creating positive image after the lost in World War II."
