"Penelitian ini merupakan studi penggunaan tanda dalam novel grafis Maus karya Art Spiegelman, yang bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penggambaran panoptisme milik Michel Foucault sebagai konsep pengawasan, pendisiplinan, dan pengoreksian masyarakat, secara sadar atau tidak, oleh Rezim Nazi Jerman terhadap tokoh-tokoh Yahudi Polandia yang berada di luar kamp konsentrasi, di dalam kamp konsentrasi, dan saat tokoh utama berada dalam pelarian. Data dianalisis menggunakan teori semiotika Ferdinand de Saussure. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa di bawah Rezim Nazi Jerman kekuasaan panoptisme yang mengawasi, mendisiplinkan, dan mengoreksi orang-orang Yahudi dapat dibuktikan secara total berlangsung di dalam Kamp Konsentrasi dibandingkan dengan di luar Kamp Konsentrasi dan ketika tokoh utama berada dalam pelarian. ......This undergraduate thesis is a study of the use of signs in graphic novel Maus by Art Spiegelman. The purpose of this study is to describe Michel Foucault 39 s panopticism as a concept of surveillance, control, and correction, by the German Nazi Regime to Polish Jewish figures outside the concentration camp, inside the concentration camp, and when the main character was on the escape. The data was analyzed using Ferdinand de Saussure 39 s semiotics theory. The research method that being used is descriptive qualitative method. The results show that under the German Nazi regime the power of panopticism that supervises, controls, and corrects the Jews can be fully demonstrated within the Concentration Camp rather than outside the Concentration Camp and when the main character was on the escape. "ABSTRAKPada skripsi ini, topik penelitian yang diangkat adalah kesepadanan penerjemahan kata makian dari bahasa Jerman dalam novel grafis Der Boxer ke dalam novel grafis bahasa Indonesia Sang Petinju. Dalam meneliti, peneliti menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif disertai penggunaan beberapa literatur. Peneliti menganalisis kesepadanan makna kata makian dalam teks sasaran dengan menggunakan teori kesepadanan dinamis Nida, yaitu dengan melihat kesamaan fungsi dibantu kesamaan referen yang dituju oleh kata makian dalam teks sumber maupun teks sasaran. Temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan dari 12 buah kata makian yang berbentuk kata dalam teks sasaran, 2 kata makian diantaranya masih belum sepadan. Fungsi kata makian yang digunakan dalam kedua novel grafis, yaitu 1 menghina lawan bicara dan 2 mengungkapkan rasa amarah mereka terhadap lawan bicara.

ABSTRACTThe topic of this research is focused on equivalence of swear words translation from German graphic novel Der Boxer to Indonesian graphic novel Sang Petinju. In researching this topic, researcher uses descriptive qualitative method using several literature source. The data analyzed by the dynamic equivalence theory from Nida and Taber, which is using the function from the swear word itself to compared the swear word from source text into target text with the support from the reference of the swear word. Researcher find out there are 16 swear words from the source text and 2 of them are not equivalence based on their function in target text. The function of the swear words that used in this both graphic novel are to insult other people and express someone emotions to other people.Keywords Graphic Novel, Translation, Swear Word, Equivalence, Function of Swear Words."

"Penelitian ini mengkaji bagaimana konstruksi anak bahagia digambarkan dalam novel Aku, Meps, dan Beps dan bagaimana gaya pengasuhan yang dilakukan oleh Meps dan Beps mengonstruksi karakter tokoh Aku pada novel Aku, Meps, dan Beps. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan struktural yang berfokus pada unsur tokoh dan penokohan. Hasil analisis struktural tersebut diolah dengan menggunakan konsep konstruksi untuk menunjukkan karakter anak bahagia dalam novel Aku, Meps, dan Beps. Selain konsep konstruksi, konsep gaya pengasuhan juga digunakan untuk menunjukkan gaya pengasuhan Meps dan Beps terhadap konstruksi karakter anak bahagia pada tokoh Aku. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa karakter bahagia yang dimiliki oleh tokoh Aku digambarkan melalui karakternya yang mampu mengendalikan emosi, memiliki empati dan kepedulian terhadap sesama, serta menunjukkan kecerdasan dan kreativitas. Karakter yang dimiliki oleh tokoh Aku tersebut dibentuk melalui gaya pengasuhan otoritatif Meps dan Beps yang hangat, responsif, komunikatif, dan suportif. ......This study examines how the construction of a happy child is constructes in the novel Aku, Meps, dan Beps and how the parenting style practiced by Meps and Beps constructs the character of Aku in Aku, Meps, dan Beps. This study uses a qualitative method with a structural approach that focus on characters. The results of the structural analysis are processed by using the concept of construction to show the character of happy children in the novel Aku, Meps, and Beps. In addition to the concept of construction, the concept of parenting style is also used to show the parenting style of Meps and Beps to the character Aku. The results of the study show that the happy character of Aku is constructed through his character who is able to control emotions, has empathy and concern for others, and is intelligent and creative. Aku's character is formed through Meps and Beps' authoritative parenting style which is warm, responsive, communicative, and supportive."
