"The study aims to usability analysis the National Library of Indonesia home page based the results of Paramjeet and Gupta research. The method used was think-aloud. In this method, one user was observed when doing the assignment and asked to express choices, feelings, or thoughts when testing the website. There are seven phases in this method, i.e 1) literature study of usability, usability testing and think- aloud, 2) self-evaluation of the home page of National Library of Indonesia website, conducted by comparing the results of Paramjeet and Gupta study, 3) determination of assessment parameters, 4) determination of the number and criteria of the respondents, 5) analysis of home page usability by the respondents, 6) analysis of the results, conducted based on the respondent transcripts, and 7) recommendations. There were ten respondents, with medium internet literacy skill. They expressed their thoughts and feelings when testing the home page. There were criteria used in the assessment :1) the main features consist of logo and name of organization, about us, contact us, and archive and archiving; 2)URL (Uniform Resources Locator); 3) window title; 4) date and time; 5) writing content; 6) navigation; 7) search; 8) graphic and animation.Based on the analysis, it shows that home page of the National Library of Indonesia website needs to be improved. The improvements needed are: the addition of about us feature on the main menu; contact us becomes part of about us in the main menu; the results of the archive and archiving is in the form of title, in order to facilitate the information retrieval; the moving boxes in the navigation are replaced with fixed boxes using different colors with the color news; the search is equipped with advanced search, and graphics and animation should also be improved not only as a home page ornament."

"Keterampilan membaca untuk tujuan memahami materi bacaan merupakan faktor penting dalam pembelajaran dan keberhasilan siswa di sekolah. Membaca bukan sekedar aktivitas menyimpan informasi dalam ingatan, namun lebih dari itu, merupakan proses membangun pengetahuan yang melibatkan pengolahan informasi pada tingkat yang lebih tinggi dari sekedar merekam informasi. Untuk membangun pemahaman, diperlukan strategi metakognitif yang berfungsi memfasilitasi proses pemahaman siswa. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengkaji penggunaan strategi metakognitif dalam pemahaman bacaan pada siswa-siswa sekolah menengah pertama di wilayah Jawa pesisir dan Jawa pedalaman. Penelitian ini menggunakan mixed methods research design, yang melibatkan 61 siswa dari wilayah pesisir dan 55 siswa dari wilayah pedalaman. Penelitian menggunakan prosedur think-aloud untuk mengetahui jenis-jenis strategi metakognitif yang digunakan selama proses memahami bacaan. Hasil penelitian menemukan tiga hal. Pertama, ada perbedaan penggunaan strategi metakognitif dalam membaca antara siswa di wilayah Jawa pesisir dan pedalaman. Siswa pedalaman terbukti menggunakan strategi lebih sering dari siswa pesisir. Akan tetapi, jenis strategi yang digunakan siswa di pesisir cenderung lebih beragam dan lebih berkualitas. Kedua, penggunaan strategi metakognitif dalam membaca terbukti berpengaruh terhadap tingkat pemahaman bacaan siswa. Ketiga, masing-masing wilayah penelitian Jawa pesisir dan Jawa pedalaman memiliki jenis-jenis strategi metakognitif khas. Strategi metakognitif khas yang dimiliki siswa di Jawa pesisir lebih banyak dan lebih menyebar di wilayah jenis strategi metakognitif yang lebih tinggi kualitasnya. Sebaliknya, strategi metakognitif khas siswa Jawa pedalaman jumlahnya lebih sedikit dan lebih menyebar di wilayah jenis strategi metakognitif yang lebih rendah. Implikasi dari penelitian ini adalah keterampilan metakognitif siswa SMP dalam pemahaman bacaan perlu ditingkatkan. Untuk itu, perlu dirumuskan suatu model pelatihan perancah metakognitif bagi guru agar mereka dapat melatih keterampilan metakognitif siswa-siswanya.
Reading skills for understanding reading materials are important factors in student learning and success in school. Reading is not just an act of storing information in memory, but more than that is a process of building knowledge that involves information processing at a higher level than just recording information. The metacognitive strategy is needed to facilitate the process of understanding. This study was conducted to examine the use of metacognitive strategies in reading comprehension among junior high school students in coastal and upland Java areas. This research uses mixed methods research design, involving 61 students from coastal areas and 55 students from upland areas. The study used a think-aloud procedure to identify the types of metacognitive strategies used during the reading comprehension process. The results of this study found three things. First, there is a difference in the use of metacognitive strategies in reading between students in coastal and upland Java areas. Upland students use strategies more often than coastal students. However, the types of strategies used by students on the coast are more diverse and more qualified. Second, the use of metacognitive strategies in reading affected the level of students 39; reading comprehension. Third, each research group coastal Java and upland Java has typical types of metacognitive strategies. The typical metacognitive strategies of students in coastal Java are more and more widespread in areas of higher quality metacognitive strategies. In contrast, the metacognitive strategy typical of upland students is fewer and more widespread in areas of lower metacognitive strategy. The implication of this research is the junior high school students 39; metacognitive skill in reading comprehension need to be improved. Therefore, it is necessary to formulate a model of metacognitive scaffolding training for junior high school teachers so that teachers can train the metacognitive skills of their students. With this training, teachers can help students to improve their skills in using metacognitive strategies so that students 39; reading comprehension can be improved."

"Parkir Meter adalah salah satu alternatif pemerintah DKI Jakarta untuk memperbaiki manajemen parkir. Namun masih ditemui sejumlah masalah usability dalam penggunaan mesin sehingga menyebabkan ketidakpuasan pengguna. Masalah usability berkaitan erat dengan user interface karena user interface adalah bagian paling penting pada mesin yang bisa dilihat dan disentuh oleh pengguna. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengevaluasi dan melakukan perancangan ulang user interface mesin parkir meter Jakarta. Metode yang digunakan untuk mengevaluasi adalah dengan metode usability testing. Hasil yang didapat dari penelitian ini adalah tingkat usability mesin parkir meter masih sangat rendah dan hasil perancangan ulang user interface terbukti lebih efektif, efisien dan meningkatkan kepuasan pengguna.

Parking Meter is one of the alternative that taken by Jakarta government to improve parking management. But a number of usability problems still encountered when using parking meter which lead to user dissatisfaction. Usability problems closely related to the user interface since the user interface is the most important part of the machine that can be seen and touched by the user. This study was conducted to evaluate and redesigning user interface of Jakarta parking meter machine. Usability testing methodology is used to evaluate parking meter. The results of this study are the level of usability parking meter machine is still very low and the results of redesign user interface proved to be more effective, efficient and improve user satisfaction."

"[Pengetahuan tentang elemen-elemen yang dapat meningkatkan pengalaman pengguna (user experience/UX) ketika menggunakan sistem operasi merupakan hal yang penting. Hal ini dibutuhkan bagi pengembang sistem operasi untuk membangun sistem operasi yang baik dari segi fungsi atau kegunaan (usability), dan juga dari segi pengaruh tampilannya (affect). Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini untuk mendapatkan elemen atau indikator tersebut adalah dengan melakukan pemodelan (PLS-SEM). Dimana hingga saat ini pendekatan UX secara kuantitatif, khususnya pemodelan, masih sedikit. Penelitian dilakukan dengan memberi tugas-tugas tertentu terkait dengan aplikasi Windows 10 Technical Preview (sebagai representasi) kepada subjek penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada masa orientasi, pengaruh tampilan (affect) secara subjektif merupakan hal yang lebih penting dari kegunaan (usability) objektif untuk meningkatkan penilaian pengguna (user value) dan pengalaman pengguna secara keseluruhan (overall UX). Lalu, dari masing-masing elemen UX yang terdiri dari usability, affect, dan user value tersebut, didapatkan indikator-indikator yang dapat menjadi prioritas dalam membangun sebuah sistem operasi. Sebagai tambahan, dilakukan retrospective think aloud untuk mendapatkan umpan balik pengguna, Knowledge about elements that can improve user experience when using an operating system is important. It is needed by operating system developer to build the operating system that is good from its usability, and also from its display affect. Approach that is used in this research to get the element or indicator is by doing the modeling (PLS-SEM). Whereas until this day quantitave UX approach, especially modeling, is little. The research is did by giving particular tasks about Windows 10 Technical Preview applications (as representation) to research subject. Research result shows that in orientation state, subjective affect from display is more important than objective usability to increase user value and overall user experience. Then, from each UX elements that are usability, affect, and user value, it is obtained each indicators that can become priority when building up operating system. As an addition, retrospective think aloud is conducted to get feedback from user.]"

"ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini mengkaji strategi metakognitif ketika proses membaca teks berbahasa Inggris dilakukan oleh pemelajar Indonesia. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 15 orang pemelajar universitas. Mereka adalah mahasiswa semester 4 dari fakultas ekonomi, di sebuah universitas di Jakarta Pusat. Pemelajar tersebut tergolong dalam tingkat kemampuan berbahasa Inggris menengah madya . Tujuan penelitian ini adalah 1 mengidentifikasi ragam strategi metakognitif yang digunakan mahasiswa dalam membaca teks dalam bahasa Inggris, 2 memaparkan frekuensi penggunaan strategi metakognitif pemelajar ketika membaca teks dalam bahasa Inggris, dan 3 menelaah hubungan penggunaan strategi metakognitif dengan hasil belajar dalam membaca teks bahasa Inggris. Mahasiswa diminta membaca sebuah teks berbahasa Inggris dengan cara menyuarakan pikiran mereka ketika mencoba memahaminya. Hal ini dikenal dengan metode think-aloud protocol TAP . Verbalisasi mereka direkam dengan alat perekam. Kemudian, data rekaman tersebut ditranskripkan. Terakhir, data tersebut dihubungkan dengan hasil belajar mereka di kelas bahasa Inggris. Pemelajar menggunakan 15 strategi dari 18 yang terklasifikasi ke dalam tiga fase membaca yaitu merencanakan, memantau, dan evaluasi. Ragam strategi metakognitif terbukti memiliki hubungan positif terhadap hasil belajar membaca mahasiswa. Sementara, frekuensi penggunaan strategi terbukti memiiki korelasi yang cukup baik terhadap hasil membaca mahasiswa.

ABSTRACT
This research examines the use of metacognitive strategies when Indonesian university students are reading English passages. The subjects of this study were 15 university students. They are the 4th semester students from faculty of economics in University X in Central Jakarta. The purposes of this research were 1 to identify the variety of metacognitive strategies that learners used in reading English, 2 to expose the frequency of the use of metacognitive strategies, and 3 to see the relationship between the use of metacognitive strategies and the learning result. Learners were asked to read a text by vocalizing their thoughts while trying to comprehend it. This is known as the method of think aloud protocol TAP . Their verbalization was recorded with a tape recorder. Then, the recorded data were transcribed. Finally, the data were correlated with the results of learning test. Learners used 13 strategies that are classified into 3 stages of reading i.e. planning, monitoring, and evaluating. The variety of metacognitive strategies is shown to have a positive relationship to the learning result of the learners. However, the frequency of metacognitive strategies has a fair correlation with the learning result."

"Bus listrik konversi merupakan sarana transportasi yang direncanakan menjadi pengganti bus kuning konvensional dan digunakan oleh sivitas akademika Universitas Indonesia, masih memiliki beberapa kekurangan khususnya aspek desain interior sehingga diperlukan suatu penelitian untuk mengatasi hal tersebut dikarenakan belum dapat mengakomodasi kaum prioritas dengan baik. Diperlukan adanya perbaikan pada desain interior bus sehingga penumpang merasakan kenyamanan dalam perjalanannya.
Metode Concurrent Think Aloud CTA digunakan untuk menghasilkan beberapa permasalahan yang terjadi pada penumpang bus kuning dalam perjalanannya. Selain itu, penggunaan metode Potential Gain in Customer Value PGCV digunakan untuk mengetahui fitur atau fitur apa yang harus diperbaiki untuk memenuhi kepuasan penumpang. Penelitian ini menghasilkan rekomendasi perbaikan untuk desain pada bus listrik konversi sehingga dapat memenuhi kebutuhan penumpangnya, khususnya untuk penumpang prioritas.

The converted electric bus is a transportation which is planned to be a substitute for conventional yellow buses and used by the academic community of the University of Indonesia, still has some shortcomings especially the aspect of interior design so that needed a research to overcome it because not yet able to accommodate the priority well. There is a need to improve the interior design of the bus so that passengers feel comfortable in their journey.
Concurrent Think Aloud CTA method is used to generate some of the problems that occur in yellow bus passengers on their way. In addition, the use of Potential Gain in Customer Value PGCV method is used to determine which attributes or features should be improved to meet passenger satisfaction. This research produced an improvement recommendation for the design of the converted electric bus so as to meet passenger requirements, especially for priority passengers.

"Pasar e-commerce diproyeksikan akan terus bertumbuh hingga tahun 2020, pasar Indonesia termasuk didalamnya. Pertumbuhan tersebut dipicu oleh meningkatnya jumlah pengguna internet baik di dunia maupun di Indonesia. Namun seiring dengan meningkatnya pasar e-commerce di Indonesia, hal ini diikuti dengan menurunnya arus kunjungan ke toko ritel secara langsung. Pomona merupakan sebuah perusahaan adtech di Indonesia yang mencoba untuk mengembalikan arus kunjungan ke toko ritel tersebut. Pomona menggunakan platform mobile application sebagai alat untuk menjalankan bisnisnya. Akan tetapi menurut studi pendahuluan yang dilakukan pada penelitian ini, 75% responden mengatakan masih mengalami kendala ketika menggunakan aplikasi tersebut. Oleh karena itu diperlukan uji usability terhadap aplikasi ini untuk mengetahui seberapa mudah aplikasi mobile Pomona digu nakan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode usability testing dengan menggunakan think aloud, after scenario questionnaire (ASQ), system usability scale (SUS), dan questionnaire for user interface satisfaction (QUIS) dalam mengolah data. Setelah mendapatkan hasil usability dari aplikasi Pomona, penelitian ini dilanjutkan dengan melakukan perbaikan rancangan user interface pada aplikasi tersebut dengan menggunakan pendekatan user centered design dan menggunakan 10 usability heuristics for user interface design serta Material Design sebagai literatur dalam melakukan perbaikan.

The e-commerce market is projected to grow until 2020, including in Indonesian. This growth was triggered by the increasing number of internet users both in the world and in Indonesia. But along with the increasing e-commerce market in Indonesia, this was followed by a decline in the number of visits to the retail store. Pomona is an ad tech company in Indonesia that tries to increase the number of visits to the retail store. Pomona uses the mobile application platform to run its business. However, according to a preliminary study, 75% of respondents said they were still having problems when using the application. Therefore we need usability testing for this application to find out how easily the Pomona mobile application is used. This study uses the usability testing method with think aloud, after scenario questionnaire (ASQ), system usability scale (SUS), and questionnaire for user interface satisfaction (QUIS). After gathered the usability results from the Pomona application, this research was continued by making improvements to the user interface design of the application using the user-centered design approach and using 10 usability heuristics for user interface design and Material Design as literature in the making of usability improvements."

"Product packaging is not only used as a product container, but also used as a means of marketing by companies, particularly by those involved in consumer goods. Yogurt products are predicted to experience expansion in the Indonesian market. In this study, the authors analyzed the implementation of cognitive-based design in developing yogurt product packaging to increase consumers’ willingness to buy the product. This study was divided into two phases: initial research and primary research. Initial research pursued six levels of color scheme and font factors and then narrowed down the results into the two best options that would later be combined with the primary research that analysed the shape factors. Research methods used in the initial study were the Eye-Tracking method and the ‘Retrospective-Think-Aloud’ (RTA) method. Preliminary results showed that ‘Fineliner’ and ‘Bodoni’ font type along with ‘Analogue’ and ‘Tetradic’ color schemes are judged to be the best combination and thus, these results would be combined in the main study with the shape factor. Conjoint Analysis methods were used in the main study. The main results of the research study showed a preference from Indonesian consumers for yogurt product packaging with the ‘Fineline’ font type with its rounded shape and an ‘Analogue’ color scheme."

"The new millennium has ushered in fresh challenges for educational training of the next generation of workers, global thinkers, and an informed citizenry in a rapidly changing cultural milieu. Methods and tools for exploring phenomena are increasing at rapid rates, especially methods designed to explore how individuals make sense of information and use it to solve problems. Methodological approaches that involve interviewing and probing for human understanding and problem solving have garnered significant attention in the fields of education and psychology. Think-aloud interviews and cognitive laboratory interviews are two related but distinct methodological approaches that can be used to explore human thinking for comprehension and problem solving. However, using these methods to yield accurate, reliable and defensible data to inform key educational goals for business, civics, economics, health, policy, and learning requires careful scrutiny of conditions for their application. For example, the techniques of think-aloud interviews are best applied when probing for processes associated with human problem solving, whereas cognitive laboratory interviews are best applied for human comprehension. In the present book, the two methodological approaches are presented and distinguished, including definitions of goals for application, interview instructions, probing procedures, and interpretation of data for claims about human cognition. Chapters are designed to provide the theoretical and empirical roots for the distinct approaches and examples used to demonstrate practical application. The book is designed to provide an easy-to-read introduction to understanding and practical use of these approaches for uncovering the mysteries of the human information-processing system."

"Pengguna Motion Banking menghadapi masalah dan tantangan dalam aspek UI/UX aplikasi seperti penulisan dalam aplikasi tidak tertata dengan baik, detail tidak memadai, dan navigasi yang membingungkan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengevaluasi pengalaman pengguna aplikasi Motion Banking dan menghasilkan rekomendasi perbaikan desain sesuai hasil evaluasi. Metodologi yang digunakan dalam mengevaluasi pengalaman pengguna adalah dengan melakukan usability testing. Evaluasi didasarkan pada metrik kinerja dalam bentuk task success, time on task, time-based efficiency, dan error. Metrik yang dilaporkan sendiri adalah pertanyaan kemudahan tunggal dan skala kegunaan sistem. Dengan metrik berbasis isu dalam bentuk restrospective think-aloud. Responden kesulitan menyelesaikan tugas dalam data metrik kinerja, terutama untuk tugas 2, 3, dan 4. Temuan single ease question (SEQ) hasilnya menunjukkan antarmuka sulit digunakan oleh responden pada tugas 2, 3, 4, 5, dan 6. System usability scale (SUS) dengan nilai 52,75. Saran peningkatan desain mengikuti prinsip ergonomi kognitif, khususnya "Laws of UX" dan "8 Golden Rules." Temuan evaluasi untuk Meningkatkan desain antarmuka mengungkapkan bahwa nilai metrik untuk semua tugas telah meningkat dengan skor SEQ dan SUS keseluruhan masing-masing menjadi 6,7 dan 86.

Users of Motion Banking are facing problems and issues in the UI/UX aspect of the application such as the writing in the app is not well organized, details are inadequate, and confusing navigation. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the user experience of the Motion Banking application and produce recommendations for improvement designs according to the evaluation results. The methodology that is used in evaluating the user experience is by conducting a usability study. The evaluation is based on performance metrics in the form of task success, time on task, time-based efficiency, and error. The self-reported metrics are single ease question and system usability scale. With the issue-based metrics in the form of retrospective think-aloud. Respondents had trouble completing tasks in the performance metrics data, particularly for tasks 2, 3, and 4. 3. the single ease question (SEQ) findings the results show the interface is difficult to use by their respondents on tasks 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. the system usability scale (SUS) with the value of 52.75. The design enhancement suggestions follow cognitive ergonomics principles, particularly the "Law of UX" and "8 Golden Rules." The evaluation findings for Improve interface design revealed that metrics values for all tasks had improved with the overall SEQ and SUS scores being 6.7 and 86 respectively.
