"ABSTRAK Tesis ini membahas konstruksi identitas yang ada pada penggemar Kpop dalamdua blog penggemar Kpop Korean Chingu dan Yeppopo. Lebih dalam lagi, tesisini menggali pengaruh konsumsi Kpop terhadap penggemarnya denganmelakukan analisis terhadap elemen-elemen yang ada pada blog serta analisistekstual terhadap komentar-komentar para anggota blog. Hasil penelitianmenunjukkan bahwa Kpop dalam konteks blog Korean Chingu dan Yeppopomerupakan konstruksi “kekoreaan” yang dibentuk oleh para penggemarnya diIndonesia. Konstruksi identitas Korea yang dikonstruksi dalam kedua blog jugatidak ditampilkan mendominasi identitas Indonesia para anggota blog, namunidentitas Korea tersebut telah menjadi bagian dari identitas para blogger dalamkedua blog. Sehingga, para blogger dalam kedua blog memiliki identitas multiyang terus berproses. Selain itu, Kpop dalam konteks blog Korean Chingu danYeppopo juga tidak dapat dilepaskan dari konteks produksi dan konsumsi budayayang dilakukan para fendom Kpop dalam komunitas blog tersebut.

ABSTRACT This thesis analyses the construction of identity of Kpop fans in two blogs,Korean Chingu and Yeppopo. Further more, this thesis explores the impact ofconsuming Kpop toward its fans through the analyses of elements in the blog andthe textual analayses towards the comments of the blog members. The results ofthis research show that Kpop in the context of Korean Chingu and Yeppopo blogsis the construction of “koreanism” created by its fans in Indonesia. Thisconstruction then doesn’t reflect domination over Indonesian Identity of bothblogs members, however, the Korean Identity has been part of the bloggersidentity. Therefore, bloggers of both blogs have multiple identities which will notstop processing. Besides that, the results of the research also show that Kpop inthe context of both blogs is not separable from the context of cultural productionand consumption by Kpop fans in both blogs communities."

"ABSTRAK Tesis ini membahas konstruksi identitas Islam dalam sosok perempuan berjilbabdalam tiga film islami pasca-Orba. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisisteks dalam adegan dan dialog tiga film dengan berlandaskan pada konsep identitasCastells, ideologi patriarki, dan hermeneutik al-Qur’an Asma Barlas. Identitaskeislaman tiga sosok perempuan berjilbab terikat oleh relasi kekuasaan patriarkidalam tafsiran teks agama, sehingga perempuan mengalami ketidaksetaraangender. Hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa tiga sosok perempuan berjilbabmenunjukkan keislamannya lewat pilihan mereka sendiri dalam memperjuangkankebebasan, keadilan, dan kesetaraan gender dihadapan laki-laki.

ABSTRACT This thesis discusses the construction of Islamic identities through imaged ofveiled women in three post-New Order islamic films. The research uses textualanalysis in analyzing the film scenes and dialogues based on the theoriesproposed by Castells on identity formation, Asma Barlas’s feminist hermeneuticsof al-Qur’an, gender, and patriarchy. Islamic identities as represented by veiledwomen are related to men’s power and monopoly of interpretation of the sacredtexts, and as the result, women have always been discriminated. The results of thisresearch proves that women’s religious piety is showed by their choice instruggling for a freedom, justice, and equality with men."

"ABSTRAKPenelitian ini merupakan bagian dari studi fiksi ilmiah yang penting untuk dilakukan karena selama ini genre tersebut belum banyak dibahas dalam studi kesusastraan di Indonesia. Penelitian ini dilakukan atas novel karya Djokolelono, Jatuh ke Matahari, yang berlatar dunia masa depan yang modern dan berteknologi maju. Kisah novel tersebut tidak hanya menekankan modernitas yang ditandai dengan konsep perjalanan luar angkasa, terraforming, dan ilmuwan gila, namun juga menekankan cara manusia menghadapi modernitas dalam wacana superioritas moral. Sangat penting menyelidiki teks sebagai bagian dari wacana superioritas moraldi zaman Orde Baru untuk memahami pengetahuan mengenai moralitas di dalamnya. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa Jatuh ke Matahari merepresentasikan pengetahuan mengenai superioritas moral bangsa Indonesia dalam menghadapi modernitas pada zaman Orde Baru dan mempertentangkannya dengan superioritas sains Barat, guna mendiferensiasi dan menempatkan Barat sebagai other.

ABSTRACTThe importance of this study can be seen as this study draws on the field of Science Fiction Studies which almost have never taken a major part in Indonesian Literary Studies. This study examines Indonesian science fiction novel, Jatuh ke Matahari by Djokolelono, which situates its narrative in futuristic, modern, and technologically advanced world. This narrative not only address the modernity, which is identified by the concept of space odyssey, terraforming, and mad scientist, but also the way in which human being places himself in modernity in the discourse of moral superiority. To understand the knowledge of morality in the text, it is important to investigate that the text is a part of moral superiority discourse of New Order era. It is suggested that Jatuh ke Matahari represents the knowledge of Indonesian moral superiority in the notion of modernity of the New Order era and contrasts it with Western science superiority to diferentiate and place West as other."
