"Guna menanggulangi permasalahan polusi dan kelangkaan bahan bakar fosil yang terjadi saat ini, perusahaan mobil saling berkompetisi untuk menciptakan mobil yang ramah lingkungan; mobil rendah emisi dan hemat bahan bakar. Cara yang efektif untuk memperkenalkan produk terbarunya kepada konsumen adalah dengan menggunakan media iklan. Pemilihan kata yang digunakan dalam iklan adalah hal yang esensial guna menyampaikan ide iklan kepada pembaca iklan secara utuh sehingga tidak ada informasi yang terlewat. Skripsi ini membahas korelasi makna yang digunakan, baik pada Schlagzeile maupun Fliesstext dalam iklan mobil ramah lingkungan merek BMW dan VW. Skripsi ini juga membahas bagaimana gambar yang digunakan menunjang teks iklan. Dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif, saya menemukan bahwa tujuh dari delapan iklan yang saya gunakan sebagai korpus data menggunakan kata-kata maupun frasa yang memiliki korelasi makna satu sama lain dan umumnya merupakan makna asosiasi. Kata-kata maupun frasa tersebut digunakan untuk membangun citra mobil ramah lingkungan. Gambar yang ada pun turut membangun citra ramah lingkungan serta mendukung teks dan diperkuat dengan penggunaan unsur alam, seperti pepohonan, pegunungan, awan, matahari dan juga danau.

In the age of fossil fuel scarcity, today's car manufacturers in Germany compete with each other to create innovative eco-friendly cars: cars that are low in emission and fuel consumption. To educate the market about this new kind of product, auto companies utilize many approaches. One of the most popular approach is visual advertising. In advertisements, there is the need to use words effectively, or else viewers will miss important points of said ads. In this thesis, I will discuss the correlation of words used in both Headline and Bodycopy parts of some eco-friendly car advertisements by BMW and VW. I will also write about how graphics are used to enhance the meaning of those words. Using qualitative methods, my analyses found that seven out of eight ads uses words and phrases that have associative meanings. These words are used to build the image of ecofriendliness. This image is also strengthen by the usage of environment-associated pictures such as trees, mountains, clouds, or lakes.

"Penelitian ini membahas pengaruh pergeseran makna dalam lagu kebangsaan “Indonesia Raya” yang diterjemahkan ke bahasa Jerman pada pesan dalam lagu sumber dengan menggunakan dua jenis metode, yaitu metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif untuk menjelaskan pergeseran makna dan metode penelitian kuantitatif dengan survei menggunakan GoogleForm yang berisi penggalan lirik dalam bahasa Jerman dan jawaban iya/tidak untuk melihat kenaturalan terjemahan. Analisis ini menggunakan teori pergeseran makna Leuven-Zwart (1989) dan teori Skopos Vermeer (1978), serta strategi penerjemahan lagu Low (2003), dikenal dengan pentathlon principle, sebagai pendukung teori Skopos. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa 83% lirik mengalami pergeseran. Meskipun begitu, pergeseran tersebut tidak mengubah pesan, hanya mengubah kesan dari lagu sumber. Lalu, hanya ditemukan enam kata dan frasa yang tidak natural bagi penutur jati sehingga tidak memberikan pengaruh besar terhadap pergeseran makna. Setelah dianalisis lebih lanjut, ditemukan juga tujuan lain dari penerjemahan ini, yaitu agar dapat dinyanyikan kembali.

This study discusses the effect of shifts in translation of the national anthem "Indonesia Raya" translated into German to the message in the source song by using two types of methods, there are descriptive qualitative method to explain shifts in translation and quantitative method with survey using GoogleForm, which contains German lyrics and yes/no answers to see the naturalness of the translation. The analysis use the theory of shifts in translation by Leuven-Zwart (1989) and Skopos theory by Vermeer (1978), as well as Low's (2003) song translation strategy known as the pentathlon principle to support Skopos theory. The results show 83% lyrics are shifting. However, the shifts do not change the message, only change the impression of the source song. Then, there are only six words and phrases are not natural for native speakers so that they do not have big effect on the shifts. Furthermore, it is also found another purpose of this translation was to be sing it again."

"Film The Falls 《瀑布》 (Pùbù) adalah film dengan tema drama keluarga yang disutradarai oleh Zhong Menghong. Film ini berlatar belakang pandemi COVID-19 yang mengisahkan kehidupan seorang janda bernama Pin Wen bersama putrinya, Xiao Jing. Suasana menegangkan terlihat ketika Pin Wen menderita gangguan mental. Misteri dalam film akhirnya terungkap ketika Pin Wen mengaku bahwa selama ini ia mendengar ilusi suara gemuruh air terjun yang membuatnya gelisah. Penelitian-penelitian terdahulu tentang film ini lebih menyoroti segi psikologi dan hubungan antar ibu-anak. Sementara itu, penelitian ini akan menganalisis apa makna dari air terjun dalam film ini sebab visualisasi air terjun sama sekali tidak dihadirkan hingga akhir film. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa air terjun merepresentasikan perjalanan hidup Pin Wen dan Xiao Jing. Layaknya air terjun besar yang menghantam ke permukaan beberapa air terjun kecil di bawahnya hingga membentuk suara gemuruh, lalu mengalir dengan tenang ke sungai. Pin Wen dan Xiao Jing telah melalui berbagai permasalahan, namun akhirnya sampai pada tahap keikhlasan.

The Falls 《瀑布》 (Pùbù) is a family drama film directed by Zhong Menghong. Set against the background of the COVID-19 pandemic, the movie follows the life of a widow named Pin Wen and her daughter, Xiao Jing. The tense scene is seen when Pin Wen suffers from mental illness. The mystery in the movie is finally revealed when Pin Wen confesses that she has been hearing the illusion of the roaring sound of a waterfall that makes her anxious. Previous studies of this film have focused more on psychology and mother-daughter relationships. Meanwhile, this research will analyze the meaning of the waterfall in the film since the visualization of the waterfall is not presented at all until the end of the film. This research found that the waterfall represents the life journey of Pin Wen and Xiao Jing. Like a large waterfall slams into the surface of several smaller waterfalls below to form a roaring sound, then flows calmly into the river. Pin Wen and Xiao Jing have gone through complicated problems, but finally come to the stage of sincerity."

"Isu lingkungan sudah sejak lama menjadi topik pembahasan. Salah satu perusahaan minyak dan gas paling terkemuka, Shell, adalah perusahaan yang banyak dibahas perannya dalam kerusakan lingkungan. Shell pun dalam beberapa tahun belakangan mulai membuat program-program ramah lingkungan dan memulai transisi menuju produk energi terbarukan. Shell kemudian mengiklankan program tersebut, tetapi iklan-iklan yang telah dirilis dihadapkan banyak reaksi keberatan. Masalah dari penelitian ini adalah bagaimana citra ramah lingkungan dibangun melalui kata-kata dan sistem tanda dalam iklan Shell, sehingga tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memaparkan unsur teks dan visual yang berkaitan dengan konsep ramah lingkungan dalam iklan-iklan Shell. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif sebagai metode. Teori makna referensial, sistem tanda, serta sustainable marketing digunakan untuk analisis. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kata-kata dan ilustrasi dalam iklan-iklan Shell menunjukkan unsur sustainable marketing, namun tidak ada upaya Shell untuk mengungkit isu lingkungan sehingga citra ramah lingkungan belum tercapai sepenuhnya dan diperlukan kajian lebih lanjut.

Environmental issues have been a hot topic of discussion in recent years. One of the most prominent oil and gas companies, Shell, is a company that has been widely discussed about its role in environmental damage. In recent years, Shell started making environmentally friendly programs and starting the transition to renewable energy products. Shell advertised the program, but the advertisements that were released was met with backlash. The problem of this research is how does Shell build an environmentally friendly image through words and sign systems in its advertisements, thus the purpose of this research is to describe the textual and visual elements’ relation to the concept of being environmentally friendly in Shell advertisements. This study uses a qualitative approach as a method. Referential meaning theory, sign system, and sustainable marketing are used for analysis. The finding of this study is that the words used in Shell advertisements reflect a sign system. The words and illustrations in these advertisements also show elements of sustainable marketing, but there is no attempt by Shell to bring up environmental issues, therefore an environmentally friendly image has not been fully achieved and further studies are needed."

Peta merupakan organisasi terbesar yang melindungi hak-hak binatang di seluruh dunia. Peta membidik segala usia, mulai dari remaja hingga dewasa. Dalam berkampanye, peta turut serta mengajak tokoh-tokoh terkenal sebagai model dalam iklan-iklannya. Hal tersebut bertujuan untuk dapat lebih menarik perhatian pembaca. Dalam iklan-iklannya, PETA tidak hanya menggunakan kata-kata denotasi, tetapi juga tidak jarang menggunakan kata-kata konotasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penggunaan kata-kata denotasi, konotasi dan asosiasi yang terdapat dalam iklan layanan masyarakat yang dikeluarkan oleh PETA. Metode kualitatif yang bersumber pada kajian pustaka digunakan untuk menganalisis sepuluh iklan PETA yang menjadi korpus data. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, selalu terdapat makna denotasi, konotasi dan asosiasi di dalam masing-masing iklan. kata-kata denotasi diterjemahkan sesuai dengan kata sebenarnya yang terdapat di dalam kamus. "Penelitian ini menerapkan wawancara mendalam dan observasi terhadap dua belas orang partisipan laki-laki dewasa dengan pendekatan desain studi kasus. Mereka adalah residivis yang pernah menjalani hukuman penjara, bebas untuk jangka waktu tertentu dan selanjutnya ditahan kembali akibat melakukan tindak kriminal. Partisipan yang berproses menemukan makna hidup dapat bertahan menjalani kehidupan di masyarakat dan tidak kembali di penjara; menjaga perilaku yang tidak menularkan HIV kepada istri dan anakanak mereka; serta terlibat dalam pekerjaan membantu sesama mantan pecandu dan orang dengan HIV/AIDS. Makna hidup ditemukan dalam berbagai bentuk, di antaranya menentukan tujuan hidup, memperbaiki kesalahan, membangun keluarga dan relasi personal yang positif serta keterlibatan dalam aktivitas sosial. Proses pemutusan perilaku berisiko ditunjukkan dengan cara menghindari lingkungan sebelumnya dan melakukan kegiatan yang membuat partisipan merasa hidupnya bermanfaat untuk dirinya, keluarga dan masyarakat. Sementara mereka yang tidak menemukan makna hidup ternyata kembali di penjara akibat perilaku berisiko seperti penyalahgunaan narkotika; menjadi perantara penjualan narkotika; melakukan tindak kriminal untuk mendapatkan uang pembeli narkotika, serta melakukan perilaku seks berisiko tinggi yang memungkinkan penularan HIV. Mereka mungkin memiliki keinginan untuk mengubah keadaan namun tidak melakukan tindakan nyata untuk mewujudkannya. Dalam penelitian ini ditemukan berbagai kebiasaan di antara narapidana, seperti tindak kekerasan, penyalahgunaan narkotika, penyewaan jarum suntik kotor, perilaku seks tidak aman dan pemasangan ‘tasbih’ (manik-manik) pada penis yang juga berisiko terhadap penularan HIV.

This study was conducted by using depth interview and observation towards twelve male subjects using the case study design. They are recidivists who have been imprisoned, being released for certain period of time and later on being re-arrested of the criminal cases. Participants whose found meaning in their life could remain staying in society and did not come back into the jail; preventing the HIV transmission to their wives and children; and being involved helping other drug addicts and people living with HIV/AIDS. Victor Frankl (1969) in logotherapy divided meaning in three stages, freedom of will, the will to meaning and the meaning of life. Those who did not find the meaning of life were getting back in prison due to drug abuse; mediating narcotics sales; commit criminal acts to get money for drugs, and engage in high-risk sexual behavior that enables the transmission of HIV. They may have a desire to change things but do not take any real action to make it happen. Meaning in life were found in various forms, such as setting goals in life; correcting the mistakes they have been doing; building a family and positive personal relation; and being involved in social activities. The termination of high risk behavior indicated by subject’s avoidance toward previous vulnerable environment and by doing some valuable works for family and community. This study also found common behavior among inmates inside the prison, such as violence, drug abuse, renting dirty needles, unsafe sexual behavior and inserting penile implant which also increasing the risk of HIV transmission.

"Skripsi ini membahas pembentukan dan pemaknaan pada pola أفعل dengan menganalisis proses pembentukan akar kata yang dimasukkan ke dalam pola أفعل dan macam-macam makna yang terdapat pada pola tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif yaitu merujuk kepada karya tulis para peneliti terdahulu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat enam makna yang terdapat pada pola أفعل. Empat makna telah dikenal sebelumnya yaitu taʻdiyat, shayrūrat, wijdān, dan izālat. Adapun dua makna lainnya adalah inti dari penelitian ini, yaitu haynūnat, dan dukhūl.

This thesis discusses about forming and meaning of the fourth pattern لعفأ by analyzing the root put in the pattern لعفأ and variety of meanings contained in the pattern. This study uses a quantitative method that is referred to earlier work the researchers wrote. The results show that there are six meanings contained in the pattern لعفأ. Four meanings are be known which is taʻdiyat, shayrūrat, wijdān and izālat. Two meanings are essences from this study, which is haynūnat, and dukhūl.

"Secara umum, idiom didefinisikan sebagai ekspresi kompleks. Definisi tersebut diperoleh dari karakteristik maknanya yang nonkomposisional. Idiom yang bermakna nonkomposisional adalah idiom yang konstituennya tidak menyumbangkan makna untuk makna idiom, atau dengan kata lain makna idiom berbeda dengan makna harfiahnya. Wood 1986 menjelaskan bahwa makna idiom yang nonkomposisional ini berkaitan dengan kelegapan sintaktisnya. Sifat idiom yang nonkomposisional tersebut membiarkan kekaburan sintaktisnya. Sifat idiom yang maknanya nonkomposisional dan struktur sintaktisnya legap membuat idiom sulit dipahami. Selain itu, idiom bahasa Mandarin juga terbagi berdasarkan keberadaan metafora di dalamnya. Meski demikian, idiom tetap digunakan dalam tindak tutur. Penggunaan tersebut juga berkaitan dengan nilai budaya pengguna bahasa tersebut. Idiom yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini seratus empat belas idiom empat karakter yang memiliki frekuensi kemunculan tertinggi pada "Chinese Internet Corpus";. Idiom-idiom tersebut diverifikasi ke "Kamus Idiom Xinhua".

In general, idiom is defined as a complex expression. The definition is derived from its noncompositional meaning characteristics. Idioms that are noncompositional is an idiom whose the constituents do not contribute meaning to the meaning of idiom as a whole, or in other words the meaning of idiom is different from its literal meaning. Wood 1986 explains that the meaning of this noncompositional idiom is related to its syntactic opacity. The noncompositionality in idiom allows its syntactic opacity. The nature of idioms whose meaning is noncompositional and its syntactic structure makes idiom difficult to understand. In addition, the Chinese idiom is also subdivided based on the existence of the metaphor in it. However, idioms are still used in speech acts. Idiom usage is also related to the language user 39 s cultural values. The idioms used in this study are one hundred and fourteen, and four character idioms that have the highest frequency of occurrence on "Chinese Internet Corpus". The idioms are verified to "Xinhua Idiom Dictionary".

"ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk melihat hubungan antara makna hidup dengan well-being subyektif melalui peran mediasi pemaafan dan harapan pada 257 pekerja on call. Pada penelitian ini, pengukuran variabel dilakukan menggunakan Meaning in Life Questionnaire MLQ, Satisfaction with Life Scale SWLS, The Scale of Positive and Negative Experience SPANE, Adult Dispositional Hope Scale ADHS, The State Hope Scale SHS, dan The Heartland Forgiveness Scale SHS. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan model mediasi ganda yang dikemukakan oleh Hayes 2013. Temuan pada penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pemaafan dan harapan secara signifikan memediasi hubungan antara makna hidup dan well-being subyektif dengan besaran efek total sebesar 0.2169 c = 0.2169, t 257 = 24.64.

ABSTRACT
This study was conducted to examine the relationship between meaning in life with subjective wellbeing through the mediation role of forgiveness and hope towards 257 on call workers. In this study, the measurement of variables was conducted using the Meaning in Life Questionnaire MLQ, the Satisfaction with Life Scale SWLS , the Scale of Positive and Negative Experience SPANE, the Adult Dispositional Hope Scale ADHS, the State Hope Scale SHS, and the Heartland Forgiveness Scale SHS. The data analysis was conducted using a double mediation method that was proposed by Hayes 2013. The findings of this study showed that forgiveness and hope significantly mediated the relationship between meaning in life with subjective wellbeing with the total magnitude of effect of 0.2169 c 0.2169, t 257 24.64."
