"Ketika berbicara cinta, kita mengingat bagaimana pasangan membuat janji di hadapan tuhan untuk saling menyayangi dan menjaga. Dalam film Amour karya Michael Haneke kita menyaksikan bagimana pasangan berusia lanjut menghadapi kondisi penyakit stroke yang diderita salah satu di antara mereka. Penelitian ini berfokus pada tema kebebasan dengan menggunakan metode kualititatif dan pendekatan tekstual. Penelitian ini menggunakan kajian sinema oleh Boggs & Petrie yang didukung dengan teori struktur alur tradisional yang digagas Victoria Lynn Schmidt. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa dalam film Amour penonton diarahkan untuk menelusuri ruang privat tokoh dan menyaksikan bahwa konflik yang terjadi antar keduanyaa bukan disebabkan oleh adanya hambatan dalam mencapai tujuan melainkan adanya kontradiksi dan konflik ketergantungan antara kedua karakter. Permasalahan yang terjadi antara pasangan ini tidak memiliki jalan keluar selain kematian sehingga selama hidupnya nostalgia menjadi cara bagi tokoh untuk melarikan diri dari kenyataan.

When talking about love we reminded how people made promises before god to love and care each other. In Michael Haneke’s film Amour, we see how an elder couple cope with ilness. This research is based on the theme of freedom using qualitative methods and textual approaches. This study uses the theory of cinema by Boggs & Petrie and the traditional plot structure theory proposed by Victoria Lynn Schmidt. This reasearch found that the audiences of Amour is direceted to the private space of the couple and witnesses that the conflict occur between them is not caused by attainment of their goals but the presence of interdependence and character conflict. The problem that occurs between this couple has no way out other than death so that during their life nostalgia becomes the way for the two characters to escape reality. "

"ABSTRAKPenelitian ini akan membahas peran ilustrasi musik karya Franz Schubert dalam film La Pianiste karya Michael Haneke. Film dan musik adalah dua hal yang tidak begitu saja diciptakan tanpa nilai dan makna di dalamnya. Film dan musik dalam film La Pianiste diduga memiliki relasi yang kuat karena Michael Haneke dalam berbagai karyanya tidak pernah menggunakan latar suara yang mendominasi seperti dalam film ini. Dalam penelitiannya, peneliti akan menganalisis relasi antara musik klasik yang ditempatkan sutradara dalam beberapa sekuen sebagai latar suara dan peristiwa yang ada pada sekuen. Pada akhir penelitian ditemukan bahwa karya Schubert dalam film ini mempunyai peran sebagai cara lain Haneke menyampaikan cerita selain dari tokoh, latar waktu dan tempat, alur, serta peristiwa.

ABSTRACTThis research will examine the role of music illustration from Franz Schubert rsquo s works in Michael Haneke rsquo s film, La Pianiste. Film and music are never made without value and meaning. Film and music in La Pianiste have such a strong bond, because in many of his work, Michael Haneke never incorporate a dominating sounds like he did in this film. In this paper, I analyze the relation between classical music that strategically placed as a backsound by the director in several sequences. In the end of this research, it is found that Schubert rsquo s works in this film act as an alternative way of Haneke to convey the story other than the already established characters, place, time, plot, and events."

"Artikel ini membahas mengenai homoseksualitas yang ditampilkan dalam film Les Chansons d’amour. Film ini menggunakan lagu untuk menggambarkan perasaan para tokoh. Artikel ini mengangkat permasalahan orientasi seksual yang terjadi pada diri Ismaël yang pada awalnya merupakan seorang heteroseksual. Faktor dari dalam dirinya merupakan pemicu utama perubahan orientasi seksualnya, yaitu kesedihan yang mendalam karena ditinggal kekasihnya, Julie.Hasil dari penelitian ini memperlihatkan bahwa homoseksualitas yang digambarkan melalui film Les Chansons d’amour merupakan transformasi orientasi seksual yang disebabkan dari faktor internal, yaitu depresi dan perasaan sedih yang mendalam yang dirasakan karena kehilangan kekasihnya.Selain itu, lingkungan sekitar juga sangat mempengaruhi perubahan orientasi seksual seseorang. This article discusses the homosexuality featured in the film Les Chansons d'amour. Songs in this film are the main media to describe the feelings of the characters. The issue raised in this article is regarding Ismaël’s sexual orientation who was initially a heterosexual. The major trigger that changes his sexual orientation is his deep sadness after losing his girlfriend, Julie.

The results of this research shows that homosexuality in film Les Chansons d'amour is a transformation of sexual orientation caused by internal factors, such as feeling of losing, sorrow, and depression after his girlfriend’s death.

In addition, environment can also have an impact on a person's sexual orientation changes. In this case, the presence of a male figure who gives attention, affection, seduction, as well as intimate relationship which melt Ismael’s heart and soul."

"Artikel ini menganalisis tema kebebasan dalam roman Bonjour Tristesse karya Françoise Sagan. Roman tersebut merupakan roman yang menuai pro dan kontra bagi masyarakat Prancis, sebab tema yang diangkat merupakan tema yang belum lazim pada zamannya, yakni kebebasan bertindak tokoh utama perempuan. Penggambaran tokoh tersebut telah mengubah ciri roman yang ada sebelumnya, yaitu cerita yang mengisahkan ksatria dengan nuansa melodramatis[1], menjadi roman yang terbuka membicarakan segala hal sesuai dengan sudut pandang wanita yang menuntut kebebasan atas hidupnya. This article analyses a freedom theme of Bonjour Tristesse, a roman by FranCoise Sagan. This roman reaps the pros and cons, because it has not been prevalent at that time, namely the freedom of the main female character. The description of these characters have changed some previous traits, which tells a story about the knight with the melodramatic theme, a roman which openly discusses all things according to woman perspective who demanded freedom for her life. Sagan as the author also defines freedom as the behavior of certain norms, bourgeois norms. Therefore, this article will show the submission models of Sagan who rejected bourgeois norms, through the main character of the roman Bonjour Tristesse, Cécile. The data which is used for this short research is a roman Bonjour Tristesse by Françoise Sagan, published by Julliard, 1954."

"Skripsi ini membahas tema teror dalam film le Corbeau karya Henri-Georges Clouzot. Tujuan skripsi ini adalah memaparkan perwujudan tema teror melalui aspek naratif dan sinematografis dalam film. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan bantuan teori pengkajian film menurut Joseph M. Boggs. Hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa teror dalam film le Corbeau menjadi sumber konflik yang dipicu oleh munculnya surat-surat anonim dan ditampilkan secara bertahap yang dimulai dari munculnya kecurigaan dan berkembang pada ketegangan antar tokoh serta berujung pada kematian.

This thesis is focused on the terror theme in the film le Corbeau of Henri-Georges Clouzot. The aim of this thesis is to discuss the terror theme through the narative and cinematographic aspect. This study uses qualitative method with the help of theory of film study according to Joseph M. Boggs. The result of the analysis shows that the terror theme in the film le Corbeau becomes the source of conflict triggered by the emergence of anonymous letters and displayed in stages started from the emergence of suspicion and evolve to tension between characters that leads to death."

Artikel berfokus terhadap kebohongan yang terlihat dari adegan berwarna yang akan mempengaruhi hubungan kausalitas suatu peristiwa dalam film. Pemaknaan terhadap warna yang ada pada film akan dikaji melalui aspek naratif dan sinematografis dengan teori film dari Denis W. Petrie dan Joseph M. Boggs. Hasil analisis menunjukkan para tokoh melakukan kebohongan tersebut demi mencapai tujuannya dan kebohongannya tampak melalui adegan berwarna dalam film.

"ABSTRAKPerang Dunia merupakan salah satu tema yang banyak diangkat dalam perfilman Prancis. Salah satu film yang mengangkat periode pasca-Perang Dunia I adalah film Frantz karya François Ozon. Artikel ini membahas tentang perang, trauma dan cara para tokoh untuk melepaskan diri dari kenangan buruk akan kematian akibat perang, khususnya yang melibatkan konflik antara Prancis dan Jerman yang direpresentasikan melalui tokoh Frantz. Metode kajian sinema dari Boggs dan Petrie digunakan untuk memaparkan struktur naratif film melalui analisis alur, penokohan dan latar. Selain itu, aspek sinematografis dengan analisis dialog dan mise en scène juga digunakan untuk memperlihatkan memori dan trauma yang dialami para tokoh. Konsep trauma perang dari Nigel C. Hunt digunakan untuk memperlihatkan bahwa trauma yang disebabkan oleh perang dapat mengubah pola pikir dan tingkah laku masyarakat. Hasil analisis memperlihatkan bahwa trauma akibat perang tidak hanya berdampak bagi individu, tetapi juga berdampak bagi masyarakat luas, menjadi memori kolektif yang sulit dihapuskan. Setiap usaha untuk menghapus dan membebaskan diri dari trauma perang akan berbeda tergantung penyebab dan dampak trauma tersebut.

ABSTRACT

World War is one of the themes that often appear in French films. One of the films that convey the post-World War I period is the film of Frantz by François Ozon. This article discusses war, trauma and how the characters escape from bad memories of death due to war, especially those involving conflicts between France and Germany that represented by Frantz. The Boggs and Petrie cinema study methods is used to describe the narrative structures of the film through analysis of plot, characterizations and settings. In addition, cinematographic aspects with dialogue analysis and mise en scène are also used to show the memory and trauma experienced by the characters. The concept of war trauma from Nigel C. Hunt is used to show that trauma caused by war can alter people's mindsets and behaviors. The analysis shows that the trauma caused by war not only affects individuals, but also affects the wider community, becoming a collective memory that is difficult to forget. Every effort to cure and free yourself from the trauma of war will differ depending on the cause and impact of the trauma."
