"ABSTRACT
Narcissism is one of the characteristics that influences the organizational leadership effectiveness. According to researchers and psychoanalyst, it is a trade off characteristic where it delivers positive impact but has negative consequences in some context. This study aims to investigate the narcissism of CEOs and organizations. In specific, whether Elon Musk is a narcissistic leader and whether Tesla Motors itself a narcissistic organization are focused in this study. To determine the characteristics of narcissistic CEO, this study uses the DSM IV from American Psychiatric Association 2002 . Whereas, Godkin and Allcorn 2009 criteria is used to analyze the narcissistic trait of the organization. In this study it is not necessary to execute the research plan, so the preliminary answer is based on the literature and hypotheses. As a preliminary answer, the CEO Elon Musk of Tesla Motors is a narcissist. However, this study finds Tesla Motors is not a narcissist organization. Nonetheless, this conclusion could not be finalized as it does not have the complete data concerning Tesla Motors narcissism.

Narsisisme adalah salah satu karakteristik yang mempengaruhi efektivitas dari kepempiminan dalam organisasi. Menurut peneliti dan psikoanalis, sifat tersebut memiliki dua sisi yaitu sisi positif dan juga konsekuensi negatif dalam beberapa konteks. Studi ini bertujuan untuk menginvestigasi narsisisme dari CEO dan organisasi. Dalam spesifik, apakah Elon Musk seorang pemimpin yang narsis dan apakah Tesla Motors adalah organisasi yang narsis. Untuk menentukan karakteristik dari narisistik CEO, studi ini menggunakan landasan teori DSM-IV dari American Psychiatric Association 2002 . Sedangkan, Godkin dan Allcorn 2009 kriteria akan digunakan sebagai landasan teori untuk menganalisa sifat narsistik dari organisasi. Dalam studi ini tidak perlu untuk mengeksekusi perencanaan penelitian. Hasil dari studi ini menyimpulkan bahwa Elon Musk CEO dari Tesla Motors adalah seorang narsistik. Di sisi lain, studi ini menyimpulkan bahwa Tesla Motors bukan organisasi yang narsis. Meskipun begitu, kesimpulan ini tidak bisa menjadi jawaban final karena studi ini tidak mendapatkan data utuh yang secara komplit menjelaskan level narsisisme dari Tesla Motors."

Tujuan dibuatnya tesis atau skripsi ini adalah untukmengidentifikasi karakter narsisistik pada seorangb pemimpinya itu Richard Branson dan apakah karakter ini mempengaruhi Grup Virgin sehingga menjadi organisasi yang narsisistik. Bab tinjauan pustaka membahas karakter narsisistik secara mendalam tidak hanya pada seorang pemimpin tetapi juga terhadap organisasi. Diikuti dengan konsep teori lalu fakta-fakta dan penemuan dari berbagai sumber. Selanjutnya penelitian akan dilakukan dengan metode kualitatif dan kuantitatif sehingga mendapatkan informasi yang memadai. Dan tesis ini ditutup dengan konklusi berdasarkan tinjauan pustaka. ABSTRACT
The purpose of this thesis is to identify narcissistic leader?s characteristics on Richard
Branson and whether he turns the Virgin Group to be a narcissistic organization as
well. The literature about narcissism isdiscussed in depth about the leader and
organizational context. Then followed by applying the theoretical concepts to the
facts and finding from many sources. Furthermore, research will be done with
qualitative and quantitative method in order to find sufficient information. And lastly,
the conclusions will be based on the literature review. In brief, it is confirmed that
Richard Branson is a narcissistic leader and Virgin Group is not a narcissistic
organization."

"Tujuan dari skripsi ini adalah untuk menganalisa CEO narsis, organisasi narsis dan hubungan antara keduanya dalam kasus General Motors. Literatur yang sudah ada mengenai konsep-konsep akan terlebih dahulu dijelaskan sebelum mengaplikasikannya kedalam kasus GM. Dua mantan CEO GM telah dipilih untuk analisa, Roger B. Smith dan John F. "Jack" Smith, Jr. Karaksteristik kedua CEO dan karakteristik GM pada masa jabatan keduanya akan dibahas satu persatu. Analisa-analisa ini menuju pada konklusi dimana CEO narsis mempunyai pengaruh terdahap organisasinya dengan mengubahnya menjadi organisasi yang narsis, tetapi organisasi narsis tidak memiliki pengaruh terhadap kepribadian para CEO. Selain konklusi berdasarkan pembahasan literatur, hipotesis dan rencana penelitian telah disediakan. Refleksi dan rekomendasi untuk penelitian dimasa depan juga diberikan diakhir.

The objective of this thesis is to analyse narcissistic CEOs, narcissistic organizations and the relationship between the two in the case of General Motors. Existing literatures on the concepts are first explained before applying it to the case of GM. Two former CEOs of GM were chosen for analysis, Roger B. Smith and John F. “Jack” Smith, Jr. The characteristics of these two CEOs and the characteristics of GM during their tenure are described independently. These analyses lead to the conclusion that narcissistic CEOs do affect their organization by turning them into a narcissistic organization but narcissistic organization does not affect the personality of the CEOs. In addition to conclusions based on literature review, hypotheses and research plan are provided. Reflection and recommendation for future researches are also given at the end. "

"Pendapat yang bertolak belakang mengenai sifat narsisme memberikan landasan ide untuk menjelaskan fenomena narsisme pada seorang CEO dan bagaimana hal tersebut dapat mempengerahui perusahaan yang dipimpinnya, serta memberikan bidang pembelajaran yang menarik untuk ditelusuri lebih dalam. Untuk itu, tujuan dari penelitan ini adalah untuk menyelidiki dan mempelajari sifat narsisme pada CEO dan juga perusahaan yang dipimpinnya, melalui studi kasus perusahaan Gibson Brands Inc. berikut CEO nya, Henry Juszkiewicz. Pengertian dan pemahaman dasar mengenai narsisme akan dijelaskan, berikut dengan hasil hipotesa yang akan mendukung hasil penelitian. Rencana penelitian mencakup metode penelitian yang relevan, pemakaian data yang layak disertai dengan batasan-batasannya, dan teknik yang akurat untuk menganalisa data juga hipotesa. Penelitian di lakukan berdasarkan pokok pembahasan: ldquo;Apakah Henry Juszkiewicz, CEO dari perusahaan Gibson Brands, Inc., adalah CEO yang memiliki sifat narsisme dan Gibson Brands, Inc. sendiri adalah organisasi yang menunjukan kecenderungan narsisme? rdquo;. Jawaban awal dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa CEO dari Gibson Brands, Inc. memiliki sifat narsisme, namun perusahaan yg dipimpinnya tidak.

Contradicting beliefs of narcissistic personality leads to a general motive to explain the phenomenon of narcissistic personality in a CEO and how it affects an organization, as well as providing an interesting field of study to be further examined for management and science purpose. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to investigate narcissism in a CEO and its organization, using Gibson Brands Inc. and its CEO, Henry Juszkiewicz as a study case. Further explanation about the understanding of narcissism will be provided, as well as formulated hypotheses that would support the findings. The research plan will consist of appropriate research methods, proper use of data as well as its limitations, and correct technique to analyze the data and test the hypotheses. Research is based on the central research question ldquo Is Henry Juszkiewicz, the CEO of Gibson Brands, Inc. a narcissistic CEO and Gibson Brands, Inc. itself a narcissistic organization rdquo . The preliminary answer of this study shows that the CEO of Gibson Brands, Inc. is a narcissist while the organization itself is not."

"Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana hubungan antara motivasi kerelawanan dan kepribadian narsisistik pada relawan di Indonesia yang berusia 18-29 tahun emerging adulthood. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian korelasional dengan responden relawan yang berjumlah 2002 responden. Motivasi kerelawanan diukur dengan menggunakan Volunteer Function Inventory VFI, dan kepribadian narsisistik diukur dengan menggunakan Narcissism Personality Inventory NPI-13, kedua instrumen tersebut telah diadaptasi ke dalam Bahasa Indonesia. Pada motivasi kerelawanan, terdapat enam dimensi motivasi kerelawanan, yaitu nilai, karir, sosial, pemahaman, peningkatan harga diri, dan protektif. Pada kepribadian narsisistik, terdapat tiga dimensi kepribadian narsisistik, yaitu leadership/authority, grandiose exhibitionism, dan entitlement/exploitativeness. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 1 terdapat hubungan yang negatif dan signifikan antara motivasi nilai dengan kepribadian narsisistik grandiose exhibitionism, 2 terdapat hubungan yang positif dan signifikan antara motivasi karir dengan ketiga kepribadian narsisistik leadership/authority, grandiose exhibitionism, dan entitlement/exploitativeness, 3 terdapat hubungan yang negatif dan signifikan antara motivasi sosial dengan kepribadian narsisistik entitlement/exploitativeness, 4 terdapat hubungan yang negatif dan signifikan antara motivasi pemahaman dengan kepribadian narsisistik leadership/authority dan entitlement/exploitativeness, 5 terdapat hubungan positif dan signifikan antara motivasi kerelawanan peningkatan harga diri dengan kepribadian narsisistik leadership/authority dan entitlement/exploitativeness, 6 terdapat hubungan positif dan signifikan antara motivasi protektif dengan kepribadian narsisistik entitlement/exploitativeness.

The purpose of this research is to examine the correlation between volunteering motivation and narcissistic personality among volunteer in Indonesia within age of 18 29 years old emerging adulthood. This research uses correlational method with 2002. Volunteering motivation was measured by Volunteer Function Inventory VFI and narcissistic personality was measured by Narcissism Personality Inventory NPI 13, both have been adapted to Bahasa Indonesia. Volunteering motivation consist of six dimensions which are values, career, social, understanding, enhancement, and protective. Narcissistic personality consists of three dimensions which are Leadership Authority, Grandiose Exhibitionism, and Entitlement Exploitativeness. The result indicated 1 there was significant negative correlation between value motivation and grandiose exhibitionism personality, 2 there was significant positive correlation between career motivation and three of the narcissistic personality leadership authority, grandiose exhibitionism, and entitlement exploitativeness, 3 there was significant negative correlation between social motivation and entitlement exploitativeness personality, 4 there was significant negative correlation between understanding motivation and two of the narcissistic personality, which are leadership authority and entitlement exploitativeness, 5 there was significant positive correlation between enhancement motivation and two of the narcissism personality, which are leadership authority and entitlement exploitativeness, 6 there was significant positive correlation between protective motivation and entitlement exploitativeness personality."

"ABSTRAK
The Bling Ring 2013 adalah film drama yang mengangkat kisah nyata dari enam remaja Amerika yang membobol rumah selebritis Hollywood dengan menggunakan teknologi canggih untukdapat melacak rumah para selebriti tersebut. Film ini mengeksplorasi masalah yang dihadapi oleh remaja Amerika akan adanya budaya pemujaan selebriti yang menyebabkan mereka menjadi hedonis dan narsisis. Meskipun terdapat banyak ahli yang membahas film ini dari sudut pandang psikologi, tidak banyak yang menganalisis masalah ini berdasarkan sudut pandang budaya populer dalam representasi karakter. Dengan menggunakan konsep pemujaan selebriti, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana budaya populer mempengaruhi perilaku menyimpang yang ditunjukkan oleh karakter dalam film Bling Ring. Penelitian ini memberitahu bahwa perilaku ldquo;memuja rdquo; yang dilakukan oleh karakter-karakter yang ada dalam film the Bling Ring sebenarnya berbanding terbalik dengan istilah memuja yang semua orang pahami.

ABSTRACT
The Bling Ring 2013 is a drama film which elevates an actual event of six American teenagers who burglarized Hollywood celebrity house by using the advanced technology to track those celebrities rsquo; house. This movie explores the American teenagers rsquo; problem in dealing with the celebrity worshipping culture that causes them to become hedonist and narcissist. Although there are a lot of scholars who have discussed the movie from the psychological point of view, not many have analyzed the movie based on the view point of popular culture about the character rsquo;s representation. By using the concept of celebrity worshipping, this article aims to analyze how popular culture affects the misbehavior that shown in the Bling Ring movie. This article notifies that the act of ldquo;worshipping rdquo; which done by the characters in the Bling Ring movie is actually the exact opposite of the term ldquo;worshipping rdquo; that everyone knows. "

HMI (Himpunan Mahasiswa Islam) merupakan salah satu organisasi
mahasiswa terbesar di Indonesia. Perjalan HMI hingga saat ini seringkali dipenuhi
dengan dinamika baik di Internal maupun eksternal organisasi. Penelitian ini
meneliti peranan kepemimpinan dan strategi organisasi dalam menghadapi
dinamika lingkungan eksternal berupa munculnya PB HMI yang diketuai Adi
Baiquni dan periode kepengurusan yang berada pada momentum pemilihan umum
tahun 2014. Tiga rumusan pertanyaan penelitian yaitu ; 1) Apa strategi organisasi
PB HMI periode 2013 ? 2015 yang dipimpin oleh Arif Rosyid dalam menghadapi
dinamika lingkungan eksternal organisasi ? 2) Kenapa memilih strategi tersebut
sebagai upaya dalam menghadapi dinamika lingkungan eksternal organisasi ? 3)
Bagaimana peranan kepemimpinan dalam implememtasi strategi organisasi dalam
menghdapi dinamika lingkungan eksternal organisasi ?
Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan teknik
pemilihan informan ditentukan secara purposive sampling yaitu dengan
melakukan wawancara mendalam kepada informan yang dipilih dengan
pertimbangan tertentu serta melakukan studi dokumentasi.
Secara ringkas dari temuan hasil, tesis menghasilkan bahwa dua kondisi
lingkungan eksternal ini menuntut PB HMI periode 2013-2015 melakukan strategi
untuk menghadapinya, diantaranya adalah dengan menjalin kerja sama dengan
organisasi lain dan memanfaatkan budaya organisasi yang ada. Pilhan strategi
dilakukan dengan berbagai pertimbangan dan juga Arif Rosyid berperan langsung
pengimplementasian strategi yang telah ditetapkan tersebut. Namun disisi lain
kepemimpinan Arif Rosyid juga digugat oleh beberapa orang pengurusnya yang
menilai ada bebarapa hal yang tidak sesuai dengan aturan organisasi.

period of stewardship that are on the momentum of 2014 elections. Formulation

environment? 2) Why did you choose such a strategy as an effort in the face of
dynamic external environment? 3) How is the role of leadership in face
