"Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran dukungan orang tua dalam karier dan kongruensi karier dengan orang tua terhadap career decision-making difficulties mahasiswa tingkat akhir. Penelitian ini menggunakan alat ukur Career-Related Parent Support Scale oleh Turner, Alliman-Brissett, Lapan, Udipi, dan Ergun (2003) dan Adolescent-Parent Career Congruence Scale oleh Sawitri, Creed, dan Zimmer-Gembeck (2013), dan Career Decision-Making Difficulties Questionnaire oleh Gati, Krausz, dan Osipow (1996) yang telah diadaptasi ke dalam bahasa Indonesia. Penelitian dilakukan kepada 410 mahasiswa tingkat akhir angkatan 2016 dan 2017 menggunakan teknik pengambilan data convenience sampling. Hasil analisis multiple regression menunjukkan bahwa dukungan orang tua dalam karier dan kongruensi karier dengan orang tua secara simultan berperan secara signifikan terhadap career decision-making difficulties mahasiswa tingkat akhir, F(2, 409)= 7,609, p= 0,001 , R2=0,036. Namun, hasil analisis secara parsial hanya menemukan kongruensi karier dengan orang tua yang memiliki peran signifikan secara positif terhadap career decision-making difficulties mahasiswa tingkat akhir, (β = 0,25, t= 3,45, p= 0,001). Berbeda dengan penelitian sebelumnya, hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peran orang tua belum mampu mengurangi kesulitan dalam pengambilan keputusan karier mahasiswa tingkat akhir. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa terdapat implikasi dan limitasi dari penelitian ini.

This study aims to examine the role of career-related parent support and career congruence with parents on career decision-making difficulties among final year students. This study uses the Career-Related Parent Support Scale by Turner, Alliman-Brissett, Lapan, Udipi, and Ergun (2003) and the Adolescent-Parent Career Congruence Scale by Sawitri, Creed, and Zimmer-Gembeck (2013), and Career Decision -Making Difficulties Questionnaire by Gati, Krausz, and Osipow (1996) which has been adapted in Indonesian. The study was conducted to 410 final year students of 2016 and 2017 using convenience sampling techniques. The results of multiple regression analysis showed that career-related parent support and career congruence with parents simultaneously played a significant role in career decision-making difficulties for final year students, F(2, 409)= 7,609, p= 0,001 , R2=0,036. However, the results of the partial analysis only found career congruence with parents who had a positive significant role on career decision-making difficulties for final year students (β = 0,25, t= 3,45, p= 0,001). Incontrast to previous studies, the results showed that the roles of parents are unable to reduce career decision-making difficulties of final year students. These findings may indicate the limitations of this study."

"Siswa yang memiliki efikasi diri dalam keputusan karier akan yakin dengan kemampuannya untuk melakukan tugas-tugas yang dibutuhkan dalam memilih jurusan kuliah yang tepat. Tinggi rendahnya keyakinan siswa tidak terlepas dari peran orang tua seperti harapan dan dukungan terkait karier. Siswa cenderung mematuhi orang tua karena budaya kolektivis di Indonesia menekankan pentingnya hubungan sosial yang harmonis. Di sisi lain, kepatuhan tersebut dapat membuat siswa merasa tertekan dan terpaksa memilih jurusan yang salah. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 349 siswa Sekolah Menengah Atas Kelas 12. Harapan karier orang tua diukur menggunakan subskala Perceived Parental Expectation pada faktor academic achievement (PPE-AA) dari alat ukur The Living up to Parental Expectation Inventory (LPEI), kongruensi karier remaja-orang tua diukur menggunakan Adolescent-Parent Career Congruence Scale (APCCS), dan efikasi diri dalam keputusan karier diukur menggunakan Career Decision Self-Efficacy Short Form (CDSE-SF). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persepsi siswa terhadap harapan karier orang tua dan kongruensi dengan orang tua mengenai karier dapat meningkatkan efikasi diri siswa dalam keputusan karier secara bersama-sama, F (2,346) = 41,011, p<0,001. Persepsi siswa mengenai kongruensi karier dengan orang tua lebih mampu meningkatkan efikasi diri siswa dalam keputusan karier dibanding persepsi terhadap harapan karier orang tua. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, orang tua diharapkan terlibat secara aktif dan mendukung karier siswa secara kongruen untuk membantu siswa merasa lebih yakin ketika memutuskan karier.

Students with career decision self-efficacy will believe in their capabilities to do various tasks needed in choosing the right college major. Student’s level of belief is related to their parents’ behavior such as expectations and support regarding career. Indonesia’s collectivist culture emphasizes the importance of harmonious social relations, making students tend to obey their parents. But obedience can also make students feel pressured and forced to choose the wrong major. The total of participants in this study amounts to 349 high school students in grade 12. Parental career expectations are measured by the Perceived Parental Expectation subscale on academic achievement (PPE-AA) from The Living up to Parental Expectation Inventory (LPEI), adolescent-parent career congruence is measured by Adolescent-Parent Career Congruence Scale (APCCS), and career decision self-efficacy is measured by Career Decision Self-Efficacy Short Form (CDSE-SF). The result of this study indicates that student’s perceptions towards parental career expectations and career congruence between them and their parents simultaneously can increase student’s career decision self-efficacy,
F (2,346) = 41,011, p<0,001. Student’s perceptions of career congruence with their parents are more capable of increasing student’s career decision self-efficacy when compared to student’s perceptions towards parental career expectations. Based on these findings, parents are expected to be actively involved and give congruent support in helping students to be more confident in making career decisions.

membantu mahasiswa untuk menghadapi tugas yang diprediksi maupun tidak diprediksi di
dunia kerja nantinya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh perilaku eksplorasi
karier dan kongruensi karier orangtua-anak pada adaptabilitas karier secara bersamaan dan melihat variabel mana yang lebih berkontribusi pada adaptabilitas karier. Partisipan yang terlibat dalam penelitian ini merupakan mahasiswa semester akhir, mulai dari semester 6 di
Jabodetabek (N = 538). Alat ukur yang digunakan adalah Career Adapt-Abilities Scale, Career Exploration Behavior, dan The Adolescent-Parent Career Congruence. Data yang diperoleh kemudian di analisis menggunakan uji regresi berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh signifikan secara bersamaan perilaku eksplorasi
karier (t = 6.545, B = 0.315, p < 0.001) dan kongruensi karier orangtua-anak (t =4.752, B=0.195, p < 0.001) pada adaptabilitas karier. Penelitian juga menunjukkan kontribusi perilaku eksplorasi karier lebih besar pada adaptabilitas karier dibandingkan kongruensi karier orangtua-anak. Hasil penelitian dapat digunakan untuk mahasiswa dalam rangka meningkatkan kemampuan adaptabilitas karier melalui kegiatan eksplorasi dan kongruensi.

College students in their final year will experience transition and need todevelopreadiness before entering the workforce. Career adaptability can help the college students todeal with the predicted and unpredictable tasks in the workforce later. This study aims to investigate the effects between career exploration behavior and parent-child career congruence simultaneously on career adaptability. The participants involved in this research were 538 college students spread over Jabodetabek. Career Exploration Behavior, Career Adapt-Abilities Scale, and The Adolescent-Parent Career Congruence were used toassessparticipants’ exploration behavior, career adaptability, and career congruence. Data were analyzed using Multiple Linear Regression. Results of this research indicated that career exploration behavior (t = 6.545, B = 0.315, p < 0.001) and parent-child career congruence(t =4.752, B = 0.195, p < 0.001) simultaneously affect career adaptability. The results showed that career exploration behavior gives a greater contribution than parent-child career congruence on career adaptability. This study is applicable for college students to improvetheir career adaptability through exploration activities and congruence"

Support dan interference parental career-related behavior diukur dengan Parental Career-Related Behavior Instrument (Dietrich & Kracke, 2009), career exploration diukur dengan Career Exploration Survey (Stumpf, Colarelli, & Hartman, 1983), dan lack of information career decision-making difficulties diukur dengan Career Decision-Making Difficulties Questionnaire (Gati & Saka, 2001). Hasil menunjukkan bahwa career exploration berperan secara parsial dalam memediasi hubungan antara support dan interference parental career-related behavior dengan lack of information career decision-making difficulties pada mahasiswa tingkat akhir. Penelitian ini memiliki implikasi bahwa perilaku orang tua terkait karier anak yang dirasa mendukung (support) atau terlalu banyak mengatur (interference) dapat berpengaruh terhadap perilaku mahasiswa tingkat akhir dalam mencari informasi mengenai karier sehingga berdampak pada tingkat kesulitan pengambilan keputusan karier mahasiswa karena kurangnya informasi. Selain itu, hasil penelitian ini memberikan beberapa manfaat bagi pusat pengembangan karier di perguruan tinggi.

The difficulties of career decision-making among senior year college student could have impact their future career success. In Indonesia, The difficulties of career decision-making among senior year college student are more caused by lack of information. The parents role and involvement among senior year college student, especially in collectivism culture, could affect their childrens behavior in searching information about career and this could have impacts to their career decision-making difficulties that caused by lack of information. This research was conducted to find the role career exploration in mediating the relationship between support and interference parental career-related behavior with lack of information career decision-making difficulties on senior year college student. This research is quantitative study with non-experimental study design. Participants of this research were 413 senior year college students from several faculties in Universitas Indonesia. Support dan interference parental career-related behavior were measured by Parental Career-Related Behavior Instrument (Dietrich & Kracke, 2009), career exploration was measured by Career Exploration Survey (Stumpf, Colarelli, & Hartman, 1983), and lack of information career decision-making difficulties were measured by Career Decision-Making Difficulties Questionnaire (Gati & Saka, 2001). The result shows that career exploration mediating partially the relationship between support and interference parental career-related behavior with lack of information career decision-making difficulties on senior year college student. This research has implication that parents behavior that related to childrens career which is perceived supporting or interfering affects senior year college students behavior in searching information about career so that gives impact on their level of career decision-making difficulties that caused by lack of information. Moreover, the results of this study give some benefits for career development center in university."

"Dinamika bentuk dukungan orang tua merupakan salah satu faktor kontekstual yang berpengaruh terhadap aspirasi karier siswa SMA. Namun, kompleksitas dinamika tersebut dapat dipengaruhi oleh perbedaan persepsi orang tua - anak, perbedaan bentuk dukungan yang dilaporkan, serta adanya efek mediasi dari efikasi karier yang dapat mempengaruhi hubungan tersebut. Penelitian ini ditujukan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara bentuk dukungan orang tua dan aspirasi karier siswa SMA yang dimediasi oleh efikasi karier dengan menggunakan kerangka teori Social Cognitive Career Theory (SCCT). Penelitian ini juga mengeksplorasi perbedaan persepsi dukungan orang tua yang dilaporkan oleh orang tua dan siswa melalui pendekatan person-centered, dimana dukungan orang tua dikategorikan berdasarkan bentuk dukungan orang tua yang dilaporkan dan berdasarkan kesesuaian persepsi antara orang tua dan anak. Data partisipan diperoleh dari 264 siswa kelas 3 SMA di daerah Jabodetabek, beserta 264 data dari orang tua dari siswa terkait. Analisis data dilakukan dengan teknik korelasi Pearson dan regresi mediasi menggunakan Hayes PROCESS Macro. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan peran efikasi karier sebagai mediator dalam hubungan antara dukungan orang tua dan aspirasi karier siswa pada tiap profil kategori dinamika bentuk dukungan orang tua, dimana peran mediasi tersebut signifikan pada kelompok Kurang Terlibat dan tidak signifikan pada kelompok Interferensi. Hasil studi ini juga memberikan gambaran dinamika pengaruh bentuk dukungan orang tua terhadap tingkat efikasi karier dan aspirasi karier. Temuan ini memberikan wawasan bagi pengembangan bimbingan karier di dalam keluarga serta memberikan implikasi praktis bagi orang tua, konselor, serta pendidik dalam mendukung perencanaan karier siswa.

The dynamics of parental support are one of the contextual factors that influence high school students' career aspirations. However, the complexity of these dynamics can be influenced by differences in parent-child perceptions, differences in reported forms of support, and the mediation effect of career efficacy that may affect the relationship. This study aims to analyze the relationship between parental career-related support and high school students' career aspirations mediated by career efficacy using the theoretical framework of social cognitive career theory (SCCT). This study also explores differences in perceptions of parental support reported by parents and students through a person-centered approach, where parental support is categorized based on the types of parental career-related support reported and based on the congruence of perceptions between parents and children. Participant data were obtained from 264 third-grade high school students in the Jabodetabek area, along with 264 data from the parents of the students. Data analysis was carried out using the Pearson correlation technique and mediation regression using Hayes PROCESS Macro. The results of the study indicate that there are differences in the role of career efficacy as a mediator in the relationship between parental support and students' career aspirations in each profile category of the dynamics of parental career-related support types, where the mediation role is significant in the "Kurang Terlibat" profile and not significant in the "Interferensi" group. This study also provides an overview of the dynamics of the influence of parental career-related support types on the level of career efficacy and career aspirations. These findings provide insight into the development of career guidance within the family and provide practical implications for parents, counselors, and educators in supporting students' career planning."

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh kongruensi karir anak dengan orang tua terhadap adaptabilitas karir melalui mediasi efikasi diri dalam pengambilan keputusan karir pada mahasiswa. Data penelitian berasal dari 551 partisipan mahasiswa S1 yang sedang menjalani perkuliahan di semester 6 atau lebih. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan kuesioner yang disebarkan secara daring dengan menggunakan tiga macam skala, Career Adapt-Abilities Scale, Adolescent Parent Career Congruence, dan Career Decision Self-Efficacy Short Form yang sudah diadaptasi ke dalam Bahasa Indonesia. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan macro PROCESS dari Hayes. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan tidak adanya pengaruh langsung dari kongruensi karir anak dengan orang tua terhadap adaptabiltias karir (c’ = -0,0019; p > 0,05). Sementara itu, hubungan dari kongruensi karir anak-orang tua dengan adaptabilitas karir akan meningkat dengan adanya peran mediator dari efikasi diri pengambilan keputusan karir (indirect effect = 0,1272). Implikasi, limitasi, serta saran untu penelitian selanjutnya didiskusikan.

 


This study aims to examine the effect of adolescent-parent career congruence on career adaptability through mediation of career decision self-efficacy for undergraduate students. The research data came from 551 undergraduate student participants who were undergoing lectures in the 6th semester or more. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire distributed online using three kinds of scales, Career Adapt-Abilities Scale, Adolescent-Parent Career Congruence, and Career Decision Self-Efficacy Short Form that was adapted into Indonesian. Data analysis was performed using PROCESS macros from Hayes. The results of the study showed that there was no direct effect of adolescent-parent career congruence on career adaptability (c’ = -0,0019; p > 0,05). Meanwhile, the relationship of adolescent-parent career congruence and career adaptability will increase with mediation through career decision self efficacy (indirect effect = 0,1272). Implications, limitations, and suggestions for further research are discussed.

"Kesulitan dalam pengambilan keputusan karier merupakan salah satu kesulitan yang sering dialami oleh siswa Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) dalam membuat keputusan terkait jurusan kuliah. Kesulitan dalam memilih jurusan kuliah yang dialami oleh siswa dapat menyebabkan siswa mengambil keputusan secara tidak optimal. Beberapa penelitian terdahulu menemukan bahwa kesulitan dalam pengambilan keputusan karier dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor, salah satunya core self-evaluation. Oleh karena itu, tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat hubungan antara core self-evaluation dan career decision-making difficulties pada siswa SMA kelas 10, 11, dan 12 yang bersekolah di wilayah Jabodetabek. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian korelasional. Alat ukur yang digunakan adalah Career Decision-making Difficulties Questionnaire (CDDQ) dan Core Self-Evaluation Scale (CSES). Partisipan penelitian ini adalah 195 siswa SMA (Laki-laki = 25.6%; Perempuan = 71.8%; Mean Usia = 17.05; SD Usia = 0.86). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat korelasi negatif dan signifikan antara core self-evaluation dan career decision-making difficulties pada siswa SMA, r(195) = -0.36, p < 0.01, one-tailed, r² = 0.13. Hasil penelitian diharapkan dapat memberikan gambaran bagi siswa mengenai pentingnya melakukan penilaian diri secara positif dalam membuat keputusan karier dan bagi pihak sekolah untuk membentuk program preventif terkait kesulitan dalam pengambilan keputusan karier.

Career decision-making difficulties are often experienced by high school students in making decisions regarding college majors. Difficulties in choosing college majors experienced by students can cause students to make decisions that are not optimal. Several previous studies have found that career decision-making difficulties are influenced by various factors, one of which is core self-evaluation. Therefore, this study aimed to examine the relationship between core self-evaluation and career decision-making difficulties among high school students in grades 10, 11, and 12 who attend school in Jabodetabek area. This research is quantitative research with a correlational research design. The measurement tools used are Career Decision-making Difficulties Questionnaire (CDDQ) and Core Self-Evaluation Scale (CSES). The participants in this study were 195 high school students (Male = 25.6%; Female = 71.8%; Mean Age = 17.05; SD Age = 0.86). This study results indicate a negative and significant correlation between core self-evaluation and career decision-making difficulties among high school students, r(195) = -0.36, p < 0.01, one-tailed, r² = 0.13. The research results are expected to provide students with an overview of the importance of positive self-evaluation in making career decisions and for schools to form preventive programs related to career decision-making difficulties."

"Salah satu hal yang berkaitan dengan kesulitan pengambilan keputusan karier adalah keyakinan individu dalam melakukan tugas yang diperlukan dalam proses pengambilan keputusan karier (efikasi diri). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat hubungan antara efikasi diri pengambilan keputusan karier (Career Decision-Making Self-Efficacy) dengan kesulitan pengambilan keputusan karier (Career Decision-Making Difficulties) pada siswa SMA di Jabodetabek. Alat ukur yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Career Decision-Making Self-Efficacy Short-Form (CDMSE-SF) dan Career Decision Difficulties Questionnaire (CDDQ). Partisipan penelitian ini berjumlah 198 siswa SMA Negeri di Jabodetabek dengan proporsi 71.7% siswa perempuan, 25.8% siswa laki-laki, dan rata-rata usia 17 tahun. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan negatif yang signifikan antara Career Decision-Making Self-Efficacy dengan Career Decision-Making Difficulties pada siswa SMA Negeri di Jabodetabek. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi sumber literatur mengenai kesulitan pengambilan keputusan karier pada siswa SMA dan memberikan pemahaman mengenai pentingnya efikasi diri dalam proses pengambilan keputusan karier.

One of the factors related to career decision-making difficulties is an individual's belief in their ability to perform the tasks required in the career decision-making process (self-efficacy). This study aims to examine the relationship between Career Decision-Making Self-Efficacy and Career Decision-Making Difficulties among high school students in the Jabodetabek area. The measurement instruments used in this study are the Career Decision-Making Self-Efficacy Short-Form (CDMSE-SF) and the Career Decision Difficulties Questionnaire (CDDQ). The participants in this study were 198 students from public high schools in the Jabodetabek area, with a proportion of 71.7% female students, 25.8% male students, and an average age of 17 years. The results of the study showed a significant negative relationship between Career Decision-Making Self-Efficacy and Career Decision-Making Difficulties among high school students in the Jabodetabek area. This research is expected to serve as a literature source on career decision-making difficulties among high school students and provide an understanding of the importance of self-efficacy in the career decision-making process."

Pertimbangan yang kompleks membuat proses pengambilan keputusan karir menjadi sulit bagi beberapa mahasiswa tingkat akhir. Pengukuran kesulitan pengambilan keputusan karir menggunakan Career Decision Making Failure Questionnaire (CDDQ) yang disusun oleh Gati et al (1996) dan untuk mengukur ciri-ciri kecerdasan emosional menggunakan alat ukur Trait Emotional Intelligence Questinnaire (TEIQue) yang disusun oleh Petrides & Furnham (2003) . Penelitian ini dilakukan terhadap 123 mahasiswa tingkat akhir Universitas Indonesia. Data penelitian diolah menggunakan teknik product moment Pearson menggunakan software SPSS edisi 22. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan dan negatif antara ciri kecerdasan emosional dengan kesulitan pengambilan keputusan karir. Dengan demikian, semakin baik sifat kecerdasan emosional yang dimiliki mahasiswa tingkat akhir, maka semakin mudah atau rendah kesulitan yang dihadapi mahasiswa tingkat akhir, begitu pula sebaliknya.
This study aims to examine the relationship between emotional intelligence traits and career decision making difficulties. Final year students as individuals who are in the young adult stage have a need to decide on a career. Career decision making requires complex judgment. Complex considerations make the career decision-making process difficult for some final year students. Measurement of career decision making difficulties using the Career Decision Making Failure Questionnaire (CDDQ) compiled by Gati et al (1996) and to measure emotional intelligence characteristics using the Trait Emotional Intelligence Questinnaire (TEIQue) measuring instrument compiled by Petrides & Furnham (2003) . This research was conducted on 123 final year students of the University of Indonesia. The research data was processed using Pearson's product moment technique using SPSS software edition 22. The results showed that there was a significant and negative relationship between the characteristics of emotional intelligence and the difficulty of making career decisions. Thus, the better the nature of emotional intelligence possessed by final year students, the easier or lower the difficulties faced by final year students, and vice versa."
