"Stigma terhadap homoseksual masih kuat di Indonesia, representasi queer dalam media dipandang memiliki potensi sebagai sarana perubahan sikap. Penelitian ini bertujuan menguji pengaruh menonton film queer terhadap sikap terhadap homoseksual di Indonesia. Menggunakan metode pre-experimental design pretest-posttest one group, sebanyak 39 partisipan berusia 18–-27 tahun (M = 21.02, SD = 1.81) mengikuti sesi menonton film Pria (2017). Paired sample t-test menunjukkan bahwa penayangan film queer tidak menghasilkan perubahan sikap yang signifikan (t(38) = -0,907, p > 0.05). Mayoritas partisipan juga sudah memiliki sikap yang tergolong sedang hingga tinggi, sehingga ada dugaan ceiling effect. Tidak adanya perubahan sikap diduga terhambat faktor sosial budaya. Uji korelasi menunjukkan kepentingan nilai-nilai agama berhubungan negatif signifikan dengan sikap terhadap homoseksual, sedangkan frekuensi konsumsi media, sikap lingkungan terdekat dan interaksi dengan komunitas LGBTQIA+ berhubungan positif signifikan. Film dapat menjadi pemicu kesadaran awal, tetapi memerlukan strategi lain untuk menciptakan perubahan sikap berkelanjutan.

The stigma against homosexuals is still strong in Indonesia, queer representation in the media is seen as having the potential as a means of attitude change. This study aims to examine the effect of watching queer films on attitudes towards homosexuals in Indonesia. Using the pre-experimental design pretest-posttest one group method, 39 participants aged 18–27 years (M = 21.02, SD = 1.81) participated in a session of watching the film Pria (2017). A paired sample t-test showed that presenting queer films did not result in significant changes in attitudes (t(38) = -0.907, p > 0.05). The majority of participants also already had moderate to high attitudes, so there is a suspicion of a ceiling effect. The absence of attitude change is thought to be hampered by socio-cultural factors. The correlation test showed that religious importance values were significantly negatively related to attitudes towards homosexuals, while the frequency of media consumption, attitudes of the immediate environment and interaction with the LGBTQIA+ community were significantly positively related. Films can be a trigger for initial awareness, but require other strategies to create sustainable attitude change."

" Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi bagaimana identitas queer digambarkan pada tokoh Minato dan Yori serta bagaimana masyarakat Jepang dalam film merespons identitas queer dalam film Kaibutsu (2023) karya Koreeda Hirokazu. Teori yang digunakan penulis adalah queer theory milik Eve Sedgwick tentang konsep closetedness dalam buku Epistemology of the Closet (1990) dengan metode analisis film milik Joseph M. Boggs dan Dennis W. Petrie (2011). Temuan penelitian ini adalah Minato dan Yori menerapkan closetedness dengan menciptakan kebohongan untuk melindungi identitas queer mereka dan masyarakat Jepang dalam film digambarkan sebagai masyarakat yang menindas dan menolak identitas queer Minato dan Yori, yang memperkuat tekanan untuk tetap tertutup mengenai identitas mereka.

This study aims to identify how queer identity is portrayed in the characters of Minato and Yori and how Japanese society in the film responds to queer identity in Koreeda Hirokazu’s Kaibutsu (2023). The theory used by the author is Eve Sedgwick’s queer theory about the concept of closetedness in the book Epistemology of the Closet (1990) with Joseph M. Boggs and Dennis W. Petrie’s film analysis method (2011). The findings of this study are that Minato and Yori apply closetedness by creating lies to protect their queer identities and Japanese society in the film is portrayed as a society that oppresses and rejects Minato and Yori’s queer identities, which reinforces the pressure to remain closeted about their identities.

Meskipun sejak tahun 1973 status homoseksualitas tidak lagi dianggap sebagai ketidakwarasan, kehadiran masyarakat homofobia masih tak terhindarkan sampai saat ini. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat apa yang sebenarnya terjadi di dunia queer setelah adanya gay rights movements. Menerapkan teori Hall mengenai identitas budaya dan teori Butler mengenai performativitas, melalui film An Englishman in New York (2009), makalah ini menunjukkan bahwa queer diaspora menciptakan identitas baru bagi penduduk asli dan imigran. Karya ini juga memperlihatkan bahwa sesungguhnya alasan mengapa queer pada era 1970 suka menunjukkan identitas gender mereka dengan queer fashion adalah karena tekanan dari masyarakat homofobi.

"[Film Prayers for Bobby (2009) mengangkat permasalahan mengenai homoseksualitas dan proses pengakuan diri. Dengan menggunakan metode analisis film, penulis menganalisis bagaimana institusi berpengaruh terhadap kondisi psikologis karakter homoseksual selama proses pengakuan diri. Hingga saat ini, belum terdapat banyak penelitian yang menganalisis hubungan dalam institusi sosial, seperti keluarga, agama, dan masyarakat yang memberikan tekanan dalam pembentukan identitas karakter homoseksual. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori Weeks mengenai seksualitas (1986) dan teori Hill mengenai tahapan-tahapan dalam proses pengakuan diri (2002) sebagai kerangka teori. Hasil utama penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa karakter homoseksual di dalam film gagal untuk melewati seluruh tahapan proses pengakuan diri karena adanya pengekangan dari institusi. Kegagalan pengakuan diri tersebut menyebabkan karakter utama untuk bunuh diri, yang juga mencerminkan ketidakstabilan kondisi psikologisnya.

There has not been a lot of research that see the relation among institutions, such as family, religion, and society in repressing the identity formation of homosexuals. This research uses Weeks sexuality (1986) and Hill's stages of coming out process (2002) as the frameworks. The major findings show that the homosexual character in the film fails to pass the stages of coming out process due to the repression by the institutions. Media massa merupakan alat yang digunakan manusia untuk memenuhi berbagai kebutuhannya seperti
menghabiskan waktu luang, berkumpul bersama teman atau keluarga, melepas stress, mendapat rasa nyaman, mendapat bahan percakapan, membantu beristirahat, mendapatkan informasi terbaru serta mendapatkan sensasi kesenangan. Salah satu media yang digunakan khalayak untuk mendapatkan kebutuhan-kebutuhan tersebut yaitu film. Film dianggap menarik karena cara penyampaiannya yang menggunakan cerita dengan menggunakan gambar-gambar dan suara-suara. Salah satu film yang menarik, dan yang terkenal adalah film Beauty and the Beast yang dirilis pada 17 Maret tahun 2017 lalu oleh The Walt Disney Company. Film ini menarik karena memiliki genre fantasi, serta termasuk sebagai film 2017 terlaris kedua sepanjang masa. Makalah ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan pemahaman mengenai pemenuhan kebutuhan khalayak di Indonesia dalam menonton film Beauty and the Beast yang dirilis tahun 2017 lalu. Makalah ini menggunakan metode perolehan datanya yaitu dari data pustaka dan data wawancara. Pembahasan dari makalah ini memaparkan bahwa terdapat pemenuhan kebutuhan khalayak dalam menonton film Beauty and the Beast (2017) dan terdapat penjabaran kategorikategori kebutuhan yang terpenuhi berdasarkan pendekatan Uses and Gratification serta penelitian yang sudah ada sebelumnya. Didapatkan bahwa adanya dominasi pada tiga kategori kebutuhan, yaitu kebutuhan enjoyment, kebutuhan social interaction, dan kebutuhan excitement.

ABSTRACT
Mass media is a tool used by humans to fulfill various needs such as spending free time, gathering with friends or family, releasing stress, get enjoyment, getting conversation material, relax, get the latest information and get a sensation of excitement. One of the media used by audiences to obtain these needs is film. Films are considere interesting because of the way they are delivered using stories using images and sounds. One interesting film, and famous is the film Beauty and the Beast which was released on March 17 in 2017 by The Walt Disney Company. This film is interesting because its fantasy genre, and is included as the second best-selling 2017 film of all time. This paper aims to gain an understanding of fulfilling the needs of audiences in Indonesia in watching the film Beauty and the Beast released in 2017. "Pada tahun 2022, industri perfilman Indonesia mengalami kebangkitan setelah dua tahun terdampak oleh pandemi Covid-19. Pembatasan yang diberlakukan selama pandemi dan perubahan perilaku konsumen telah meningkatkan ketergantungan pada media sosial sebagai saluran penyediaan informasi. Fenomena ini juga terjadi dalam praktik pemasaran film. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji pemanfaatan media sosial sebagai alat pemasaran film dengan meneliti efek mediasi dari kerennya film dan pengalaman sinematik terhadap loyalitas penonton. Selain itu, penelitian ini berfokus pada film box office tertinggi di Indonesia baru-baru ini, yaitu film KKN di Desa Penari. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini menggabungkan kerangka kerja dimensi informasi media sosial (yaitu daya tarik, nilai tambah, jumlah informasi, tampilan virtual) dan konten media sosial (yaitu, iklan dan promosi), dan menganalisis dampaknya terhadap kerennya film, pengalaman menonton, dan loyalitas menonton. Penelitian ini mengumpulkan 236 responden dan menganalisis data menggunakan SEM (Structural Equation Modeling) dengan menggunakan SmartPLS 4.0. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jumlah informasi dan konten media sosial merupakan pendorong yang signifikan terhadap pengalaman menonton film yang berujung pada kesetiaan pada sebuah film. Hasil penelitian ini dapat memberikan wawasan untuk merencanakan kegiatan pemasaran film Indonesia dengan lebih baik. Selain itu, penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi terhadap kemajuan literatur dalam pemasaran media sosial dan pemasaran film.

In 2022 the Indonesian film industry experienced a revival after two years of being affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. Restrictions imposed during pandemic and the changes of consumer behavior have increased the reliance on social media as information provision channel. The phenomenon also transpires in the practice of movie marketing. The purpose of this study is to examine the utilisation of social media as a movie marketing tool by investigating the mediating effects of movie coolness and cinematic experience on movie loyalty. Moreover, this study focuses on the recent Indonesian highest box office movie, KKN in Dancer Village movie. In doing so, this study integrate a framework of social media information dimensions (i.e., attractiveness, added value, quantity, virtual appearance) and social media contents (i.e., advertising and promotion), and analyse their impacts on movie coolness, movie experience, and movie loyalty. This study collected 236 respondents and analyzed the data using SEM (Structural Equation Modeling) using SmartPLS 4.0. The finding suggest that the amount of information and social media content are significant drives of movie experience which lead to a loyaltu to a movie. The results of this study can provide insights to better plan marketing activities of Indonesia movies. In addition, this research contributes to the progress of literature in social media marketing and movie marketing."

"Beberapa riset memperlihatkan bahwa konsumsi drama dapat mempengaruhi preferensi seseorang dalam memilih pasangan. Berlandaskan pemikiran teori Kultivasi bahwa penonton dengan jumlah besar cenderung mempersepsikan realitas sosial yang disajikan di televisi, riset ini bertujuan menjelaskan pengaruh terpaan menonton tayangan drama Korea terhadap preferensi memilih pasangan. Konsep terpaan drama Korea dipilih karena tingginya popularitas drama Korea di kalangan anak muda saat ini. Data diperoleh melalui survei terhadap 320 responden yang berusia 18 – 24 tahun. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terpaan menonton drama Korea tidak memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap preferensi memilih pasangan. Kecenderungan responden riset ini yang memiliki terpaan rendah dan adaptasi pengukuran preferensi yang bersifat umum menjadi alasan pengaruh yang tidak signifikan tersebut.

Some research shows that drama consumption can affect a person's preference in choosing a partner. Based on the thought of Cultivation theory that large audiences tend to perceive the social reality presented on television. This research aims to explain the effect of exposure to watching Korean dramas on preferences for choosing a partner. The concept of Korean drama exposure was chosen because of the high popularity of Korean dramas among young people today. Data were obtained through a survey of 320 respondents aged 18 – 24 years. The results showed that exposure to watching Korean dramas did not have a significant effect on preferences for choosing a partner. The tendency of respondents in this research to have low exposure and adaptation of general preference measurements are the reasons for the insignificant effect.

"ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini membahas pengaruh sikap pada kreativitas iklan pada minat pembelian, studi kasus yang diambil adalah iklan digital dari merek es krim lokal yaitu Indo Eskrim. Kreativitas iklan diukur melalui tiga dimensi yaitu dimensi kebaruan (subskalaoriginalitas), dimensi resolusi (subskala logis), dimensi elaborasi dan sintesis (subskala dibuat dengan baik). Penelitian ini berjenis penelitian kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh antara sikap kreativitas iklan terhadap minat pembelian, dimana subskala originalitas dan dibuat dengan baik mendominasi keseluruhan jawaban sikap terhadap iklan. Diketahui pula kreativitas iklan lebih berpengaruh terhadap perempuan dibanding laki-laki. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa usaha kreativitas iklan menghasilkan minat pembelian dalam tingkat sedang sebesar 32.9%.

ABSTRACT
This study is discussing about influence of attitude toward advertising creativity on purchase intention, that examined one of the local ice cream brand Indo Eskrim as a current study case. Creativity is measured through three dimensions which are novelty dimensions (originality subscale), resolution dimensions (logical subscale), and elaboration and synthesis dimensions (well-crafted subscale). This research is quantitative research. The results suggest that there is an influences between attitude toward advertising with purchase intention, where originality and well crafted subscales dominate the overall answer of attitude toward the advertising. However, advertising creativity have more influence on women than men. This study found that advertising creativity efforts generate purchase intention at 32.9% or moderate level."

"Thesis ini membahas muatan-muatan homoseksual di dalam trilogi film X- Men. Fokus dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk menunjukkan bahwa film-film tersebut adalah media bagi kaum homoseksual untuk melawan hegemoni kaum heteroseksual. Penelitian ini menggunakan sejumlah teori seperti analisis wacana yang dikembangkan Teun A. van Dijk, Media Literacy, Auteur Theory, teori hegemoni Antonio Gramsci, dan dihubungkan dengan History of Sexuality tulisan Michel Foucault. Analisis wacana digunakan untuk membongkar bahwa para mutan di dalam film adalah simbolisme, analogi, atau metafora dari homoseksualitas.
Teori ini pada awalnya lebih banyak membahas peran sentral Bryan Singer sebagai sutradara gay dalam membuat dua dari tiga film trilogi X- Men. Peran Singer juga dianalisis dengan teori Media Literacy dan Auteur Theory untuk menunjukkan dominasi peran seorang sutradara di dalam film. Setelah menunjukkan bahwa para mutan dalam film-film tersebut adalah obsesi Singer terhadap homoseksualitas, temuan wacana tersebut dihubungkan dengan dengan hegemoni heteroseksual. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa trilogi film tersebut mencerminkan semesta homoseksual untuk melawan hegemoni heteroseksual.

This thesis talks about homosexual contents in the X-Men trilogy. Focus of the research is to show that the movies are the media for the homosexuals to fight against heterosexual hegemony. Discourse Analysis theory developed by Teun A. van Dijk, Media Literacy, Auteur Theory, are used to analyse the movies as well Antonio Gramsci?s Hegemony, and connected to the History of Sexuality written by Michel Foucault. The discourse analysis is used to uncover mutants as the simbolism, analogy, or metaphor of homosexuality.
This theory firstly concerns on the central role of Bryan Singer as a gay director of two of the movies. The role of Singer is also analysed with the theory of Media Literacy and Auteur Theory to show the dominant role of a director within movies. After showing that mutants are Singer obsession toward homosexuality, the research focuses on connecting the discourse found to the hegemony of sexuality. Research finds that the movies are clearly representing homosexual universe. The universe is created to fight against the hegemony of heterosexual.
