"Nowadays, brand does not function as an identity or to differentiate of one product to others only. The branding has been extending in many product categories which are marketed to consumers. To offer their products, the producers can not rely on functional benefits only, but also needs to take the emotional approach to the consumers by the brand given. The approach to give the emotional benefit is through the personalities of the brand as human personalities, included to fashion products. The brand must appear as the consumers it self in order to gain the brand loyalty in long time.
The purpose of this research is to find out how the impact of brand personality to brand loyalty of the consumers of fashion brand Zara at Jakarta. In addition to know which dimension of brand personality is most influential to brand loyalty. This research also using Aaker?s dimensions of brand personality, sincerity; excitement; competence; and sophistication. Aaker?s theory about the benefit of brand (functional; emotional; and self-expressive) is used as the first step to refer the brand personality concept. The theories are used to measure the brand loyalty of the consumers based on Aaker?s and Peter and Olson?s measurement.
The approach used in this research is quantitative approach with descriptive as a type of research. In order to get the data that support this research, the writer using purposive sampling by distributed 23 questions related to the indicators from the dimensions stated above to 100 respondents in 5 locations (Zara?s store in Jakarta) with judgemental sampling. To find out the brand personality dimensions as independent variable to brand loyalty as dependent variable, the writer uses factor analysis and multiple regression in the measurement.
The finding of this research suggests that three of four dimensions which use in measurement, have significant positive impact to brand loyalty. And the result suggests that dimension of competence has biggest impact to brand loyalty than others dimension in brand personality. Besides, dimension of excitement has no impact to the brand loyalty.
This research also gives the managerial implications related to the result to Zara?s management, especially in Indonesia. The consumers did not fully aware and care about the competitive advantage which Zara offers, which most appear in dimension of excitement. So that Zara?s Indonesia should adopt the markets here better and more adaptive in the way to gain the brand loyalty of consumers. The best thing that Zara?s Indonesia can do is through the approach of characteristic, and also the culture of brand preference of Indonesian consumers."

"Brand personality merupakan suatu strategi pemasaran yang potensial untuk meningkatkan loyalitas konsumen terhadap suatu merek tertentu. Hal ini terutama berlaku pada produk high involvement. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengaruh brand personality terhadap brand loyalty melalui kepuasan konsumen. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif melalui penyebaran kuesioner kepada 200 mahasiswa FISIP UI, dengan analisa eksplanatif dan Structural Equation Model (SEM). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa brand personality memiliki pengaruh yang tidak signifikan terhadap brand loyalty melalui customer satisfaction.

Brand personality is a potential marketing strategy to increase consumer loyalty towards a particular brand. This is especially true in high-involvement products. The objective of this study was to determine how the influence of brand personality on brand loyalty through customer satisfaction. This study uses a quantitative approach by distributing questionnaires to 200 FISIP UI students, with explanative analysis and Structural Equation Model (SEM). The results showed that brand personality has no significant influence on brand loyalty through customer satisfaction."

"Brand personality merupakan strategi yang dapat mendorong konsumen untuk melakukan word of mouth. Saat ini, word of mouth menjadi penting karena word of mouth merupakan salah satu alternatif lain bagi konsumen untuk mencari informasi tentang suatu produk dan lebih dipercaya oleh konsumen dibandingkan iklan konvesional. Selain itu dengan adanya brand loyalty konsumen akan lebih merasakan word of mouth dibandingkan tidak melalui brand loyalty. Tujuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengaruh brand personality terhadap word of mouth melalui brand loyalty. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan teknik pengambilan purposive sampling dan snowball sampling. Pada penelitian ini sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 200 responden pengguna iPhone di Jakarta dan Depok. Instrumen penelitian ini menggunakan kuesioner dan dianalisis menggunakan Structural Equation Modeling SEM . Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa brand personality memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap word of mouth melalui brand loyalty.

Brand personality is strategy to encourage consumers to do word of mouth. Word of mouth is important because word of mouth is one of alternative for those seeking information about a product and more trusted by consumers than conventional advertising. In addition with brand loyalty customers would more feel word of mouth than not through brand loyalty. The objective of this study is to determine how the influence of brand personality on word of mouth through brand loyalty. This study uses a quantitative approach with purposive sampling and snowball sampling technique was applied in this research. This research use 200 respondents consumer iPhone in Jakarta and Depok. The instruement of this research is using questionnaires and it is analyzed by using Structural Equation Modeling SEM . The results of this research showed that brand personality had a significant effect on word of mouth through brand loyalty."

"ABSTRAK
Tulisan ini membahas bagaimana konsumen dalam melakukan pemilihan merek memiliki kriteria tertentu yang dianggap sesuai dengan kepribadian miliknya. Hal ini yang membuat penulis menjadikan konsumen Starbucks sebagai subjek yang diamati. Pemilihan subjek ini didasarkan pada realita bahwa banyak konsumen yang tetap setia terhadap merek Starbucks, di saat semakin banyak kedai kopi yang bermunculan dan memiliki harga jauh di bawah Starbucks. Hal tersebut menunjukan bahwa kelompok tertentu memilih Starbucks bukan karena atribut, melainkan nilai emosional yang dianggap dapat merefleksikan kepribadian mereka.
Tujuan utama dari tulisan ini adalah untuk menggambarkan proses pemilihan merek oleh konsumen Starbucks, terkait dengan kepribadian yang mereka miliki. Jenis penulisan ini adalah deskriptif, dengan menggunakan data sekunder yang berasal dari jurnal ilmiah, artikel di internet, dan laporan terdahulu yang berkaitan dengan konsep kepribadian konsumen, kepribadian merek, dan pemilihan merek. Pada tulisan kali ini, penulis menemukan bahwa konsumen yang menyukai merek Starbucks adalah orang yang memiliki kepribadian agreeableness (A), dengan karakteristik baik, lembut, dan menyukai interaksi dengan orang lain. Hal tersebut dikarenakan, mereka yang mempunyai kepribadian agreeableness memilih Starbucks karena pelayanan-nya yang ramah, baik, dan bersahabat, atau sesuai dengan kepribadian merek sincerity. Meskipun pada akhirnya kepribadian merek (brand personality) bukan menjadi hal utama konsumen dalam memilih merek tertentu (brand preference), namun kepribadian merek yang sesuai dengan kepribadian konsumen (personality) dapat membuat konsumen mencintai merek tertentu.

ABSTRACT
This paper discuss about consumer?s criteria before choosing a brand that perceived match with their personality, by analyzing Starbucks consumer. Selection of this subject is based on reality that many consumers remain loyal to Starbucks, while there are so many new coffee shops out there that cheaper than Starbucks. It shows that certain groups of people choose Starbucks not only because of brand?s attribute, but the emotional value that reflect their personalities.
The main objective of this paper is to describe the process of selecting the Starbucks brand by Starbucks consumers that related with their own personality. This is a descriptive paper that used secondary data derived from scientific journals, online articles, and previous reports related with personality, brand personality, and brand preference concept. In this paper, author found that consumers who like Starbucks as a brand is tend to have agreableness personality (A), which have good, and gentle characteristics, and really appreciate the interaction with other people. That is because, the agreeableness consumer tend to choose Starbucks because of its friendly and good service, or in accordance with the sincerity brand personality. Although in the end of brand preference process the brand personality is not the main thing that highlighted by consumer, but by having a strong brand personality that suit with consumer?s personality really can help the brand to be loved by its consumer.

"ABSTRAK
The Body Shop Indonesia kembali melakukan kampanye bertajuk Forever Against Animal Testing pada tahun 2017 setelah sebelumnya dilakukan pada tahun 2012 dan 2013. Kampanye hubungan masyarakat tersebut mengangkat isu yang terjadi di industri kosmetik dan menghasilkan beberapa karakteristik dari serangkaian kegiatan yang dilakukan. Makalah ini akan mengulas proses dari kegiatan kampanye public relations yang berlangsung dan menganalisis brand personality yang terbentuk dari kampanye tersebut. Pada akhir pembahasan, ditemukan enam kegiatan utama dari kampanye dan satu dimensi dari brand personality yang mendominasi sebagai hasil dari kampanye.
ABSTRACT
The Body Shop Indonesia re-did a campaign titled Forever Against Animal Testing in 2017 after previously conducted in 2012 and 2013. The public relations campaign raised the issues that occurred in the cosmetics industry and produced several characteristics from a series of activities. This paper will review the process of the public relations campaign activities that take place and analyze the brand personality formed by the campaign. At the end of the discussion, six main activities from the campaign were found and one dimension of brand personality dominated as a result of the campaign."

"Kontestasi politik dewasa ini umum mengadopsi strategi pemasaran, sehingga aktor politik dituntut mempunyai brand sebagai identitas personal layaknya brand produk atau jasa. Ketika politisi tersandung sebuah kasus atau skandal, aset-aset brand yang dimiliki olehnya dapat dikelola ulang untuk melanjutkan karir politiknya. Brand personality dan brand trust dapat menjadi jalur pembuka untuk kembali menjalin hubungan dengan khalayak. Perumusan brand personality dapat menjadi kunci untuk memperlihatkan perubahan kepribadian politisi, sementara brand trust penting bagi aktor politik untuk mengidentifikasi tingkat kepercayaan masyarakat kepada dirinya. Basuki Tjahaja Purnama adalah politikus yang kembali terjun ke dunia politik setelah menjadi terdakwa kasus penistaan agama pada tahun 2017. Basuki dikenal sebagai pribadi yang kompeten, namun ia juga dikenal temperamen dan gaya bicaranya yang cenderung keras dan blak-blakan. Setelah bebas dari penjara, Basuki mengklaim bahwa dirinya telah berubah menjadi pribadi yang lebih baik. Selain mengubah nama brand miliknya dari “Ahok” menjadi “BTP”, Basuki juga membuat kanal Youtube berisi konten-konten vlog untuk menyiarkan perubahan dirinya tersebut. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini berusaha melihat perbedaan brand personality dan brand trust terhadap Basuki di benak masyarakat dengan metode eksperimen. Vlog Basuki digunakan menjadi perlakuan kepada subjek eksperimen untuk melihat perbedaan tersebut. Penelitian dilakukan dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dan menggunakan desain eksperimen tulen (true experimental design). Peneliti membagi 68 responden ke dalam 2 kelompok penelitian, yaitu kelompok eksperimen dengan perlakuan menonton vlog dan kelompok kontrol dengan perlakuan membaca artikel media daring. Eksperimen dilakukan secara daring, dan data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan Uji Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. Hasil Uji Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pada rata-rata penilaian brand personality dan brand trust di kelompok eksperimen, sementara di kelompok kontrol perbedaan yang signifikan hanya ada pada rata-rata penilaian brand personality. Dalam kelompok eksperimen, vlog secara khusus memberikan perubahan signifikan pada aspek kepribadian Basuki yang bermental positif (wholesome), berani mencoba hal baru (daring), bersemangat (spirited), dan cerdas (intelligent). Di sisi lain pada variabel brand trust, vlog secara khusus memberikan perubahan signifikan pada dimensi integritas (integrity).

Politicians have been adopting marketing strategies to win an election, and it is required for them to have a ‘brand’ as their personal identities. When a politician has been sentenced for a criminal case or scandal, they can re-manage their brand assets to continue their political career. His/her brand personality and brand trust are ones of the brand aspects that needs to be re-managed to maintain relationship with the voters. The formulation of brand personality can be crucial to showing changes of their personality, while brand trust is important for political actors to identify the level of public trust in them. Basuki Tjahaja Purnama has returned to politic two years after accused for religious blasphemy in 2017. Basuki is known as competent, but he is also known for his bad temperament and bad speaking style. After released from prison, Basuki claims that he has changed into a better person. In addition, he changes his name from “Ahok” to “BTP”, Basuki also creates a Youtube channel containing vlog contents to broadcast his changes. Therefore, this study seeks to the differences of brand personality and brand trust of Basuki in the eyes of the people using experimental method. Basuki's vlog is used as a treatment for experimental subjects to see these differences. This research is conducted with a quantitative approach and uses the true experimental design. Researcher divides 68 respondents into 2 research groups, the experimental group with watching vlog as a treatment and the control group with reading news from online media as a treatment. The research is conducted online, and the data are analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The result of the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test shows that there is a significant difference in the average score of brand personality and brand trust in the experimental group, while in the control group there is only a significant difference in brand personality score. In the experimental group, vlog specifically gives significant changes to these personalities of Basuki: wholesome, daring, spirited, and intelligent. As in the brand trust, vlog particularly provides a significant change in the dimension of integrity."

"Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari Brand Personality terhadap Consumer Behavior (BL, PWOM, RNI, WP, SD, AE) dengan peran dari Brand Love pada konteks grup K-Pop, BTS. Sampel yang diteliti adalah penggemar BTS atau disebut ARMY, yang berdomisili di Indonesia dan berusia 17-35 tahun. Jumlah responden yang berhasil dikumpulkan pada penelitian ini adalah 492 responden. Data yang sudah berhasil dikumpulkan diolah menggunakan metode Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) dan software PLS-SEM. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Brand Personality memiliki pengaruh positif terhadap Brand Love, Positive Word-of-Mouth, Resistance to Negative Information, dan Active Engagement dan pengaruh terbesar ada pada variabel Brand Love. Sedangkan hubungan antara Brand Personality dengan Loyalty, Willingness to Pay More, dan Self-Disclosure memiliki hubungan negatif. Brand Love juga memediasi secara positif hubungan antara Brand Personality dengan variabel-variabel dari Consumer Behavior (BL, PWOM, RNI, WP, SD, AE). Active Engagement juga berpengaruh positif bagi Loyalty. Saran manajerial dan penelitian selanjutnya dibahas dalam penelitian ini.

This study aims to determine the effect of Brand Personality on Consumer Behavior (BL, PWOM, RNI, WP, SD, AE) with the role of Brand Love in the context of the K-Pop group, BTS. The sample studied is BTS fans or called ARMY, who are domiciled in Indonesia and are between 17-35 years old. The number of respondents who were collected in this study were 492 respondents. The data that has been collected is processed using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method and PLS-SEM software. The results of this study indicate that Brand Personality has a positive influence on Brand Love, Positive Word-of-Mouth, Resistance to Negative Information, and Active Engagement and the biggest influence is on Brand Love. Meanwhile, the relationship between Brand Personality and Loyalty, Willingness to Pay More, and Self-Disclosure has a negative relationship. Brand Love also positively mediates the relationship between Brand Personality and the variables of Consumer Behavior (BL, PWOM, RNI, WP, SD, AE). Active Engagement also has a positive effect on Loyalty. Managerial implications and further research are discussed in this study."

"Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pertumbuhan industri food and beverages (F&B) yang semakin positif dan persaingan bisnis yang semakin ketat. Hal ini menyebabkan perusahaan terdorong untuk mempertahankan dan mengembangkan usahanya. Cara yang dapat dilakukan adalah meningkatkan loyalitas merek. Loyalitas merek dapat ditimbulkan oleh beberapa hal yaitu pengalaman merek, kepribadian merek, kepercayaan merek, dan kepuasan merek. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pengaruh langsung maupun tidak langsung antara pengalaman merek, kepribadian merek, dan kepercayaan merek terhadap loyalitas merek melalui kepuasan merek. Data primer diperoleh dengan menggunakan metode survei melalui kuesioner. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa dengan rentang usia 18-25 tahun yang berdomisili di Jabodetabek dan pernah membeli produk Mixue Ice Cream & Tea minimal dua kali pembelian dalam kurun waktu satu bulan. Data dianalisis dengan analisis regresi linier berganda, analisis jalur, dan uji sobel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengalaman merek dan kepercayaan merek berpengaruh secara langsung terhadap kepuasan merek sedangkan kepribadian merek tidak berpengaruh secara langsung. Pengalaman merek, kepribadian merek, kepercayaan merek, dan kepuasan merek juga berpengaruh secara langsung terhadap loyalitas merek. Hasil uji sobel membuktikan bahwa kepuasan merek memediasi pengalaman merek dan kepercayaan merek terhadap loyalitas merek melalui kepuasan merek. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa pengalaman merek dan kepercayaan merek berpengaruh secara tidak langsung terhadap loyalitas merek sedangkan kepribadian merek tidak memiliki pengaruh secara tidak langsung terhadap loyalitas merek.

This research is motivated by the increasingly positive growth of the food and beverages (F&B) industry and fierce business competition. This causes the company to be encouraged to maintain and develop its business. The way that can be done is to increase brand loyalty. Brand loyalty can be generated by several things, namely brand experience, brand personality, brand trust, and brand satisfaction. This study aimed to analyst the direct and indirect effects of brand experience, brand personality, and brand trust on brand loyalty through brand satisfaction. Primary data was obtained using a survey method through a questionnaire. The sample in this study were students aged 18–25 who lived in Jabodetabek and had purchased Mixue Ice Cream & Tea products at least twice within one month. Data were analyzed by multiple linear regression analysis, path analysis, and Sobel test. The results showed that brand experience and brand trust directly affect brand satisfaction, while brand personality has no direct effect. Brand experience, brand personality, brand trust, and brand satisfaction also have a direct effect on brand loyalty. The Sobel test results prove that brand satisfaction mediates brand experience and brand trust on brand loyalty through brand satisfaction. This shows that brand experience and brand trust indirectly affect brand loyalty, while brand personality has no indirect effect on brand loyalty."

"Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh brand experience dan brand personality terhadap brand loyalty melalui brand prestige, brand trust, dan customer satisfaction dari produk sepeda motor Honda CBR150R. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif metode survei pada pengguna sepeda motor Honda CBR150R di Jakarta. Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 100. Penelitian melakukan uji validitas dengan analisis faktor dan reliabilitas dengan Cronbach’s Alpha. Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) digunakan dalam pengujian hipotesis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa brand experience memiliki pengaruh langsung terhadap brand prestige dan brand loyalty; brand personality memiliki pengaruh langsung ke brand prestige dan brand trust; brand trust memiliki pengaruh langsung dan tidak langsung ke brand loyalty. Sementara, brand prestige terbukti tidak memiliki pengaruh tidak langsung terhadap brand loyalty.

This study aims to analyse the effect of brand experience and brand personality on brand loyalty through brand prestige, brand trust, and customer satisfaction from Honda CBR150R. This study uses a quantitative approach to survey the methods for Honda CBR150R motorcycle users in Jakarta. This study uses 100 respondents as a sample to collect data through questionnaire. The study employs validity measurement using factor analysis and reliability measurement using Cronbach's Alpha. Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) is used in hypothesis testing. The findings present that brand experience has a direct effect on brand prestige and brand loyalty; brand personality has a direct effect on brand prestige and brand trust; brand trust has a direct effect and an indirect effect on brand loyalty. In addition, brand prestige is revealed has no indirect effect on brand loyalty.
